Not an ebay specific problem, more of a computer problem that I'm hoping someone can help me solve. I use Firefox (for Mac) as my browser. My home page is set to google.com When I do a search for something, I can either type in the search window or the title bar, and my results come thru google. That is, until a few days ago. Now when I type in the title bar the search reverts to yahoo.com and in order to access a google search, I have to type google.com in the title bar. Then once that loads, put in my search (even tho the page was already on google) See the example below--although "red bag-search with google" is highlighted, the tab has already reverted to yahoo.com. It's so annoying. I do a lot of image searches for my design work & yahoo does not give me the results I need. I thought for sure, my search preferences were somehow changed to yahoo, but they are not, they are set for google. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've already shut down my browser & restarted my computer several times, that didn't help.

Actually Firefox dumped Google as their search engine quite awhile ago and began to use Yahoo instead. I think it's been a year at least; maybe you just noticed it or for some reason it just happened on your account. I'm in Oregon so maybe they spaced the roll out regionally or something. I don't think there's a way around it. That's why I don't use Firefox unless my Safari isn't working with whatever program I'm using. Maybe someone else knows a work around for it. I hate it too!

Oops, I didn't read all the way through. ETA: It's quite possible it's malware, but that generally redirects to other 'not so up-and-up' search engines. However, it wouldn't be bad to do a virus scan.

@val2525 uses a Mac - she would know for certain.
ETA: Win 'creative' updates really screw us up - every.single.time. Mostly it disrupts our network.

I use both IE and Chrome at the same time all the time. I have IE and Chrome shortcut icons on my desktop. Can you just download the google toolbar and it will be there - every time you click it on you will be right at the google page?
See if these instructions will work - click to enlarge:

I stopped using Firefox on my mac because it is painstakingly slow. I just checked and did a screenshot of the search bar. I have Google as default which still works. Can you push on the arrow and see other search engines and/or click preferences on the bottom (as shown in screenshot)?

Maybe contact Firefox support if you are unable to change it back to Google.
