eBay was the first to do a joint deal with the USPS and China Post for cheap ePacket postage rates, and now it has entered into a joint venture to create "SpeedPAK" to gets Chinese goods delivered to the US faster - with door-to-door tracking. Speed Pak They're investing quite a bit in China, including providing information to Chinese manufacturers about what eBay shoppers are looking for so they can keep cranking it out. The most egregious example was when Doho bragged that when a vintage airline crossbody bag was sought after, they sent the specs to a Chinese company who were able to start cranking out cheap replicas in "an incredibly short time" - needless to say, the reason for the demand for the vintage airline bag was its provenance and patina, but oh well. I think eBay is now the largest exporter (importer) of China goods. Which made me gurgle when they're also talking about their "retail revival program" I guess all of those Akron businesses can sell the China goods.

Nothing like being undercut by your own business partner.
Thanks for nothing, eBay.

Yes, there's a difference between being in the global trading market and being subsidized.
