This article has some bits in it that I didn't know: fortune.com/2018/02/13/ebay-augmented-reality/?sf182772337=1Such as the site traditionally skewing towards older men. Also those of us who sell more unusual long-tail items apparently still have a place on the site, or at least that's what the lip service says, it's not all commodities and new with tag stuff. We'll see, but I can see AR actually helping with that.

"The company also is considering a program to give sellers credits to entice them to use the money they make on EBay to buy additional items on the marketplace, Patt said. That feature will become possible as EBay transitions to a new payment provider after its relationship with long-time partner PayPal Holdings Inc., he said."
I really hope they do! Any little incentive to get buyers back. I personally feel eBay bucks isn't enough.

I think the change in payment schemes will actually give more flexibility to the site.

Ebay bucks never got my attention and no way will I be letting my money hang around so I can buy additional items on the marketplace.
I may buy 6 items a year on Ebay if that.

My bucks are usually nickles and dimes so it's not really useful to me. If I sold more on eBay I'd buy more but, no.

And of course I totally read that wrong. I was reading it as a buyer incentive, not seller. I make maybe 10-20 purchases on eBay a year. Including shipping supplies.

I hope the " program to give sellers credits to entice them to use the money they make on eBay to buy [on eBay]" isn't corporatespeak for " we'll be holding your funds for a week or more so you better just spend it on the site". eBay holds my funds more than 2 business days and I'm out of here. I don't need the money and I have other business ideas I'm willing to pursue.
