Sabrina got an email with pics from Olive and she has a new sister named Kasi.
""Hi Sabrina…..it is me Olive! Oh my gosh we have not chatted in forever. I think of you often and wonder how you and Sharon and all the kitties are doing!!!
I have been wanting to email you sooner because I have something to tell you. I have a new baby sister…her name is Kasi. Short for Kashmere. She is a Siamese Snowshoe. We got her in October. She was TNR but the lady from San Antonio Feral Cat Coalition couldn’t release her back into the wild because she was so nice and friendly so my Mommy adopted her. They told us she was about 6-7 months old then so she’ll be 1 year old in March, we think. A kitten and very playful. Sometime Bella and I just want to nap and she just wants to play!!!
Speaking of Bella she is doing good too! Daddy built us a fire today and Bella and I stayed warm by taking a nap in front of it. I haven’t been doing much sewing lately but Bella did help our Mommy make a quilt for her granddaughter for Christmas.
My health issues are good. I saw Dr. Norsworthy 2 weeks ago for my annual. He did change my meds because he said if I stayed on the one I was on for a long time he was worried it might give me diabetes. So we are trying a different one and I will see him in about a month for a re-check. I still am a big Mommy’s girl. I sleep with her every night and follow her everywhere….she calls it “stalking”! he he he
Tell your Mommy that my Mommy says she would like to meet her again for lunch sometime after it warms up. In the meantime I hope you all are staying warm and safe.
Keep in touch! Love always! Olive ^..^ ""

That house is cat heaven, with the random cardboard boxes and all those towels and cushions and blankets. Nesting material! And then there are the steps, the scratching posts... But it's so clean!
Kasi is interesting-looking. I can see why the TNR lady kept her back.

Aww i love Letters from Olive I love letters from Olive too. I was a bit worried because I hadn't heard from her in awhile and was hoping nothing had happened. Petti, that house is amazingly clean and its not like it gets spiffed up for pic day. It is literally a cat paradise the way that it is set up. If I was going to open a cattery, Olive's Mom would be my decorator.

Olive needs some good thoughts sent her way. I got an email from her Mom this morning.
"Olive isn’t doing good and she needs a lot of prayers and good thoughts!!
Last she wrote you in January she was doing good and Dr. N even lowered her steroid meds. Then she got an URI which in normal cats would be just some antibiotics but with her crazy auto immune disease it is so much harder. So Dr. N saw her 2 weeks ago and gave 2 different stronger antibiotics geared toward her disease and an appetite stimulate. Her URI got better (running nose and sneezing) but she has lost a considerable amount of weight because she is barley eating – a nibble here and a nibble there. She is so fragile looking and her fur is so matted.
So I called Dr. N today and he is now worried about her being diabetic – which she was border line when he saw her before. In the meantime I have been force feeding her AD cat food and brushing her twice a day trying to get a handle on these clods. She has an appointment to see Dr. N on Monday so I will keep you posted."

Keeping a good thought for Olive.... ... ... I'm so glad that she has a great Fur-Mom - hand picked by Kritter - taking extra-good care of her.

Fingies and toesies crossed for Olive. With spring coming on I'd just be cutting those matts out, unless they're wide. I wouldn't risk hurting by dragging a brush through them.

Olive goes back to the vet tomorrow so I hope there are some answers on what is wrong so she can be treated. Olive is such a great cat.
KInda weird that Olive and Sabrina who carry on their email correspondence are both down for the count with serious issues.

How old would Olive be now, Kritter? Is Bella the same age? They would be 10 at the very oldest. I don't know if they were actual sisters from the same litter but then again their background was pretty sketchy. All we knew was they were relocated with their family from Nebraska. The family had them from when they were small kittens. The year they were surrendered was a very rainy spring for us and allergies were rampant. Some of the members of the family had allergies for the FIRST time and blamed it on the cats so they were surrendered to the city kill shelter. Total freaking idiots! I had their phone number on the city paperwork and it was all I could do to keep myself from calling them up and opening a can of whipazz over the phone. The only reason I didn't was that the rescue was involved as the one who pulled the cats from the shelter and I didn't want her to get in trouble.

May they continue to have stuffed noses and runny eyes as long as in Texas they shall live. Olive and Bella got a much better deal anyway.

Yes, Olive and Bella got a much better home than the one that they had.
It was definitely one of those "when planets align" situations for them when Donna and her husband came into their life.
