In researching, I came across listings for Post Great Grains cereal. Checked solds and some went as high as $14/box with shipping. With coupons and sales, I won't pay more than $1.50 box. No way would I pay $14 for a box of cereal.
Who knew??

Yes there are several food items that sell high, I guess to people that don't have them available in their area? Never figured out why they dont' just order from WM or a big online retailer and have it shipped.

Peek - I see that for other items too. Where someone is asking the same price or more for something that you can get directly from the brand website. Works for me if it's something I'm selling lol.

When I was at Bonanza I noticed a few people taking advantage of the scarcity of some regional favorites in other parts of the country. But I would worry about a liability issue if I sold food. I wouldn't do it unless I were an LLC.

Kicking myself for not saving the ID where a lady in Canada was selling tons of groceries. People were actually buying canned green beans and jello. It was posted on the PS board about 9 years ago.
I can maybe see regional items that are no longer available if people are crazy about them....kind of.

Maybe some of it goes to international buyers. I've seen some discontinued chocolate and candy do okay.

I used to sell the limited edition Hershey Kiss flavors, but that was probably 10 years ago. It started when Hershey's came out with the peppermint ones, I made some good money doing that.

I've had a bag of pumpkin ones in my cupboard for 1 1/2 years now. They're so gross. And that's a pretty strong statement coming from me about candy. Maybe I'll go look them up.

I have a friend who makes pumpkin bread with chocolate chips, and I just can't get myself to try it. Maybe I am missing out?

I made pumpkin bread pudding Sunday and it was horrible. I sent SO to store to get Capt Morgan's spiced rum to add-made it worse.
Then I realized, maybe we really don't like pumpkin.

I love pumpkin and cheesecake and pumpkin cheesecake. But I'm not a big fan of the chocolate/pumpkin combo either.

Cheesecake Factory pumpkin cheesecake during the fall.................or any cheesecake (other than chocolate) for that matter.
I love their red velvet cheesecake bc it's two separate flavors-I think cheesecake with chocolate mixed in loses the cheese flavor.

That is weird. I wonder why they just didn't order it on Amazon.

I LOVE the pumpkin/chocolate combo. I've never had pumpkin chocolate cheesecake, but I make pumpkin cookies with chocolate chips in them.

Ahrn - no that wasn't the listing I first came across. The ones I happened upon were averaging $14 box. I was checking that seller's solds and I saw someone bought Barilla pasta 12/bx $40.23. I try not to pay more than $1.50/box. Maybe I need to rethink what I sell.

I did see a lot of case lots from Sams being listed a year or so ago when I was looking for something.

A lot of people are offering free shipping and unless they are having it shipped directly from a website that ships for free, they really aren't making a lot. Has to be expensive shipping 5 or 6 boxes of cereal etc. If you can find lighter items that sell well and are available in your area then I could see it being profitable. Wonder how many are just ordering directly off the WM or other websites and sending them to their buyers.
