is there a virus on this forum? weird popup

Second time in the last few days that this happened to me in the midst of posting a new topic. Anyone else have this?
I get a popup like the photo below--obviously it's a scam (I don't use windows).
Then when I can finally close the window, I've lost the forum page and end up having to restart my computer to get Firefox running properly again.
This hasn't happened to me on any other page, just this forum.

I am on Firefox on Windows 7 and have never seen that popup anywhere on this forum.

I caught one from ebay, and now I get pop ups on this forum, but I didn't catch it from here.

It's a Firefox issue and unrelated to this forum (I get it a lot on another computer I use, but not on others and all have accessed here at some point). I'll get it at all sorts of websites. Consider switching to Chrome or Safari. You might also clear cache/cookies and run something like malawarebytes and possibly uninstall/install Firefox. Don't be surprised if you get this popup again.

i am using firefox and getting a TON of scripting errors--i had to install an ad blocker to get them to stop.

not really sure why its an issue all of the sudden but its a pain.

I think windows did an update sometime Thursday night or Friday morning (for me at least). My old version of Firefox was replaced with a new one and there is something seriously wrong with it or at least my Windows 7 doesn't like it. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times with no luck. Spent the last few hours trying to figure out what my old version was so that I could try to get it back. I found it and installed it but I seem to have lost all of my saved favorite websites and there's not even an option to bookmark new ones. I always have Chrome open too but prefer Firefox. Not happy

I got the new Firefox and I am on Windows 7.

I am not real fond of the new versions but am getting used to it.

Since I like FF better than the other options, I am dealing.

My home page is MSN, it won't load and locks up. Then I can't click on anything at all or open any new tabs, well I couldn't until I figured out how to get the last version back. It's 56.0.2 now if I could just get all of my saved favorites back

I just checked and I have Firefox 57.0 that was installed on 11/17.

Where did you download the 56.0.2 from? Do I have to remove the 57.0 before I install the 56.0.2?

I removed firefox first. Go to control panel and select the add/remove program option and uninstall it. I don't remember the page where I found the version but I googled and clicked around until I found something that I felt comfortable clicking on and using. It won't work until you have the old removed though.

Thanks. I saw several sites where it could be downloaded from but was a little nervous about using them because no telling what I was downloading along with the FF.

Will look around some more.

I tried that but they won't let me download the earlier version. 

It told me that I had the latest up-to-date version of Firefox and need to love it.

I have Windows 7 too and FF automatically installed the upgrade on mine too. It's ok, but they moved everything around, like the refresh button. I keep hitting the wrong thing.

i wish the new version would have worked for me, I would have gotten used to the changes. Not sure what went wrong but it was completely locked up and unusable.

When Firefox acts up I un-install it and then go to Mozilla and install. It's like I'm a brand new user and they put out the welcome mat and invite me in.

My computer locked up a bit ago so I rebooted and ended up getting the new Firefox but it works this time and I've got all my favorites back.

I use Chrome. I've gotten forwarded several times in the last couple of days. I just got forwarded a few seconds ago on Chap's Help with stone ID. Something is afoot, maybe something in the ads.

I just got this same pop up on this forum. This is the only tab I have open.
I'm using Safari.
Pretty sure it's something that got in from another website. Or like Jeremy said ads.

That popup comes up all the time. Usually for me its on firefox and at a news site or sometimes a site with multiple affiliate ads. Its not limited to any one site.
