Since we were talking about Pyrex on another thread, I thought some of you might be interested in this. June 6, 2015 through March 17, 2016 www.cmog.org/collection/exhibitions/pyrexAmerica’s Favorite Dish: Celebrating a Century of Pyrex commemorates the history of Pyrex brand housewares, developed by Corning Glass Works in 1915. Central to the story of Pyrex are women, traditionally the keepers of the home, who helped Corning designers and engineers develop the products to appeal to the burgeoning women’s consumer market. Corning Glass Works combined affordable products and attractive designs with strategic marketing to make Pyrex a mainstay in American homes. Pyrex advertisements, ephemera, and glassware from the combined collections of the Library and Museum will reveal the evolution of this modern American tradition.

I'm going to stop back and read more of it later. It looks really interesting. Love the ad with the man and lady in the pyrex bowl using wooden spoons for oars that says "When two at last shove off together".

I remember going as a kid in the 70's. I don't remember much abt the museum, but I bought a pretty little vase, very delicate when I was there & it's still one of my favorite vases.

We have a Corning / Pyrex outlet near us and I get their emails. They (Pyrex) just came out w/ a line of really cute round glass bowls w/ lids that have colorful polka dots on them! Perfect for leftovers! They can be ordered on line if you don't live near one of their stores.
