Ladies with bronchitis. I just read that pineapple juice can help open your airways a bit. I think it has something called bromelain in it. Anyway, it's delicious so no pain and maybe some gain.

Bronchitis is the worst! Never did I think I was dying as when I had a severe case of it. I would rather go through childbirth again than have bronchitis.
My own physical maladies today have to do with something that happened yesterday at work. If someone had a camera and was filming, they would have had a great clip for AFHV.
I was walking up the brick stairs from the basement where I work - where the entrance is outside of the building through Bilco-type doors, carrying some light but bulky display items. My foot caught the teeny-tiny ledge at the top step so as I was getting to the ground level I started to loose my balance. Still with the items in my arms, I lunged forward to try to straighten myself, but couldn't. The momentum of this made me start to sort of run forward, leaning forward and with every step gaining speed. One second I thought I was alright, the next I thought I was going to fall. This happened several times as I 'ran' across the brick path then onto the grassy area - it seemed to go on forever. I was heading toward the picket fence that borders the parking area. This made me sort of relieved as I hoped I could grab the fence and not fall. The items I had been carrying had been flung into the air at one point during my journey, but I don't really remember when. So as I'm approaching the fence thinking i had made it, I fell flat on my face - with my boobs breaking the fall. Which was probably a good thing instead of my hands or arms since I have extra padding in that area. My glasses, which were on top of my head, went flying yards away.
Of course first thing I thought of was 'did anyone see me?". Thankfully I didn't see anyone in the parking lot, or across the street in the field. It hurt, but at least I didn't have to add embarrassment to the mix. So today I'm feeling like I got hit by a truck. I'm glad it's my day off. I don't see any significant bruising - which surprises me, but I am achy.
Now off to take some pics and list! After I take some Aleve!

(((all4sale))) Is it wrong of me to chuckle a bit? In sympathy? It's just that you described it so well, that feeling of "Oh, I'm okay, no I'm not, yes I am, no I'm not..." and gaining momentum. I swear time warps when it's happening. Anyway, it doesn't move at the same rate. I'm glad no one saw you and you weren't hurt very much. The last time I fell I was ***naked*** and no, not alone. But I fell straight onto the knee I'd been having trouble with, limping badly for a week. And although I thought in that moment that I might die of the pain, the next day I was cured. frakinfashion Yay, you reminded me about my traditional Annual Pineapple Juice Event! When I was growing up, pineapple juice and non-alcoholic apple cider were so wonderful and precious that we only had them at the height of summer - which happens to be Christmas and New Year. Good times a-comin' for meeeee!

OUCH! If your neck feels stiff for a few days, that'll be why. At least you didn't fall down the stairs - that's the worst! I'm glad you're OK.
The dinner went fine - we ate many pounds of salmon, drank up all the wine and half the limonata. I had three beers which is a lot for me lol. My 93-year-old aunt was able to show up, and turns out she works out regularly at the gym with her daughter and was featured on the trainer's website. Go auntie! She's our inspiration.
Just working on eBay today since I took a couple of days off. I'm still sick from that stupid bronchitis but feeling a bit better, just tired and wake up in the morning coughing. I'm back to doing half hour to 40 minutes on the indoor bike trainer but not up for riding outside yet, mostly because of the cough.

Doesn't time seem to slow down, too? That feeling of teetering on the edge of disaster seems to go on and on so it feels like many minutes of flailing around, thinking and reacting as fast as we can.
I had that happen when I crashed off a ravine once mountainbiking. I was sliding head first down this long hill going towards the river way at the bottom, and the entire time I'm going "OK, catch that bush, try to scrub off a little speed...what's going on with my FOOT...grab that other brush...is that my riding buddy flying through the air...his legs look so funny splayed out like that...dig in and for the love of GAWD, don't crash your head into that big log by the river...OK, there goes my bike flying through the air.... It probably took me 20 seconds but it felt like hours. I succeeded in my mission because when I finally came to rest, my head (in its helmet) just tapped the log. But just as I was getting up my bike crashed on top of me and knocked me down again.
OMG, afterwards I had bruises where I didn't even know I had places.
ETA: Oh yeah, somehow my MTB boot was wedged in the bike, too - it had been torn off my foot. Not sure at all how that happened.

(((all4))) Hope you are okay. With my 2 recent falls, I was surprised how quickly I went down...with no time to brace myself or grab onto something.
Just "trip and whomp".

TWICE in the last year i caught my toe stepping over something i knew was there and went down face first. The first time was at home and my head was headed straight for the bed frame but i was able to grab it with my arm to save my face and only wrenched my shoulder a bit. Second time was at work in the grass in front of 3 witnesses. I was fine but yes, very embarrassed. At least i had jeans on.

I work up this morning thinking I was feeling better but by evening I knew that I am getting bronchitis....again. I have had it so much I know exactly what it feels like when it is coming on. Every single time I have become sick with anything ear, nose, and throat related I get bronchitis. I have it at least twice a year, every year. I have to work tomorrow but I might just have to stop into quick care and see if I can get some medicine. I don't understand why I am so prone to getting it. I don't smoke (never have) and neither does DBF. I am rarely around cigarette smoke either. My parents did smoke (and in the house) growing up but my tendency to come down with this constantly started after I moved away from home. I used to have this problem. I stopped eating dairy for other reasons and ta-da, no sinus infections and no bronchitis since I gave up the dairy. No sinus drainage either. The past couple of weeks I've been eating lactose free sour cream and cream cheese...and having drainage and coughing. Guess I'll be dumping the dairy again, even the lactose free versions. If you eat dairy, try dumping it for a few weeks. And watch for the hidden dairy in processed food - it's EVERYWHERE.

Hootie even got up in the window yesterday. I take it as a sign they both like it here well enough. Which is good, it looks like we'll be here for several more weeks. I did figure out how to take pics today. Thank goodness for Photoshop because my lighting wasn't the greatest. I do need to get another manni form though.

((Pyrex)) (Allforsale)) If misery loves company I will tell my own story of falling this week. All was going well as I checked my mail. We have a community mailbox area and someone had left a bag of pomegranates for anyone to help themselves. I picked up two thinking how wonderful to have my first pom of the season. They grow well here in the desert and are plentiful this time of year. I was walking up the few steps to my front door with one in each hand when my sandal caught the edge of a step and down I went. As I reached out to catch myself, never letting go of the pom, it hit the edge of the step and burst open, spilling its dark red juice. At my age (60) I can no longer jump up and pretend like nothing happened. So I sat there waiting to see if anything was really hurt. Just a little sore for a day or so and I think that pomegranate protected my wrist. Since it was already cracked open it was fairly easy to get the seeds out.

It's not "dairy" that's the problem. It's the consistency of those products that causes the trouble. They're thick and gooey. If you had pure orange juice, or red wine, or Coke of that consistency you'd get phlegmmy.

There always seems to be someone around for me - like the time I tripped over a root and went flying during a running race - distressed people slowing slightly hoping I was OK but not wanting to lose time. I sprang up - "oh no, no, no big deal heh heh heh" my eyes watering and my smile looking more like a rictus of pain.

Coconut milk has fat and same consistency as regular milk but I have no issues from it. Same for soy sour cream - consistency is like regular sour cream (to me anyway) but again, no issues for me.
