When I was the Foster Coordinator at the shelter all the kittens in a litter had a common theme name whether the same starting name letter of the alphabet, states, flowers, cities in Europe, holiday theme etc.
That way if something came up with a kitten before or after adoption, we could go back and check the other kittens from the same litter by knowing their group theme.

Is there something like the AKC for cats? IDK if there's even cat shows where breeds are judged for conformation, like dog shows?

cfa.org/Breeds.aspxcfa.org/InternationalShow.aspxThere are cat shows but the cats don't prance around and do tricks etc. They lay there and look pretty. Each pedigreed breed has a Standard. The judge must evaluate each cat, placing awards based on which cats best represent the Standard.

Last litter the mama dog was from Ohio so she chose to name the litter the Buckeyes and they were Amethyst, Willie, Saffron, Chiffon, Vince and Charisma. I may have missed one but I am not familiar with OH teams so they might be famous players or something. Not sure of the common thread for those, lol.

What you're describing sounds like a conformation dog show (like Westminster), they are just judged against the Standard, but for dogs that may include the movement, so that's why they have them trot in a circle, etc. Tricks are in Obedience shows or other types of shows. I will have to look at the breeds more in depth. Some are so pretty, but that Cornish Rex sort of freaked me out a bit LOL.

LOL No self respecting cat is going to do anything in a circle.
The most they will do is stand up so you can gaze at their total beauty.

Somewhat related - our zoo has a confirmed pregnant giraffe, and possibly a second! I'm ready for another giraffe cam, and it looks like they will have one “There are plans in the works to put a live-streaming “birth cam” inside the building as the due dates get closer, so giraffe fans will be able to monitor the ‘Race to 200’ in real time,” zoo officials announced. denver.cbslocal.com/2018/02/16/2-giraffes-at-cheyenne-mountain-zoo-could-be-pregnant/

They kind of do, don't they? They're cool in their own way.

They have a placed so many service dogs with recipients since I started watching. I makes my heart happy. They have another litter due in about 2 or 3 weeks also. There are 2 baby donkeys that were born from kill pen mini donkeys that are so cute, make sure you check in on the donkeys also. This site is my stress relief.

She has had 3 girls and one boy so far. That might be all of the puppies but not sure yet. Her last litter was 3 boys and one girl so it wouldn't be surprising if it was just the 4. They are so cute and nursing now.
