She's very pretty. She's also very loving. I appear to be her new best friend. In fact, everyone who comes up to pet her is her new best friend. LOL
Very very trusting nature.

It's always shocking to me when a cat you run into outside and don't know is friendly. A while back we were taking a walk and came across a gorgeous kitty with the prettiest blue eyes. It let us pet it and acted like it had known us forever. I wish more cats were like that

Wow, depending on the dad she might have some amazing-looking kittens. Fingers crossed, so they all find homes.
I was at the vet once and she answered the phone. The person wanted her to desex their cat - because she was pregnant. After she hung up, the vet said she hates doing it, but if it means they'll keep the cat and not dump her AND the kittens, then she feels she has to do it. Plus it's one less cat to get pregnant in future.

I'm kind of wondering if she already had kittens. She's fairly thin. I'm not sure how to tell. The last pregnant cat I was around was a feral and she would have shredded me if I even tried to get a close up view.
When do cats breasts start filling up for kittens? I did check the area a few times for kittens, but I didn't see any. And - she was acting really lost when I found her.
On a happy note - my DD said she seems to like the apartment. Her name is Cali, which is also the name of the dog I may adopt. She's using a litter box, eating/drinking, and found a little snuggle spot she likes.

If she's thin with no lower bulge then she's probably not preggers. I know nothing about it, but no matter how much weight she lost there'd still be kittens there.
Is she staying with DD furever?

Yep, it's a forever home. She's my DD's only pet. She's calling tomorrow to get her in with a vet so we will know more about her situation this week.

Someone dumped my Cleopatches after she had a litter. She was found crying in the middle of the street. She was really thin/malnourished, had ear mites and was full of milk. She was tricolored like Cali. And friendly. She allowed my neighbor to grab her and bring her to me and allowed me to hold her. So I knew she wasn't feral.
Many female cats will be skittish around strangers. Male cats are much friendlier. Even if they're feral, males will come around faster.

If I’m ever owned by a cat, I guess it’ll be a boy kitty 🐱

I've noticed that the females who've had kittens are more wary. I think having kittens sparks it off in them. They also hunt better than boys.

Our girl cats are great hunters, wary and determined, but once you've earned their trust, they're faithful and loving. I always thought that was the way women should be, also.

Yes. Unfortunately too many of us leave out the "wary and determined" part. So that what we end up "faithful and loving" about isn't worth spit.

Female cats don't get urinary blockages as easily as male cats do.
Let me tell you, you don't want a cat with a urinary blockage. I speak from very recent experience.

And in my experience females are cleaner. But with that can go over-grooming, which is maddening.
But there's something adorable about a big, boofheaded boy cat.

I was taking picture of batches of ties, when suddenly in the camera view finder one is suddenly shorter than the other, and it's moving. WTH? I looked on the other side of the table, and sure enough, Trixie had decided she'd help me "stage" the ties.

Why do you think I'm taking tie pics now?

I'm glad this thread still exists!
For anyone interested - my bad boy Ernie is doing well. Our neighbor still refers to him as - The Assassin. This Winter ( first year back in having a working wood fireplace), Ernie discovered that it's a pretty cozy thing to have. He sleeps on a large footstool nearby. I'm also happy to report that Ernie is being very well behaved, and he found his own secret hideaway spot in the loft when he doesn't want to be bothered.
Interesting experience with some ferals. One is a big tom that needs to be relocated once things open up again. I found an agency that will take him and put him in a feral barn cat program. I would allow him to stay, but he's attacking Ernie. I've had a few large vet bills from infections - and it's not fair to Ernie. The barn cat program is a no kill shelter and I can request he not be anywhere near this area so he doesn't try and make his way back. Well, this big tom has a pretty little girlfriend that I named, Mimi. She's a petite long haired black cat, and they had kittens together. Everyone is now fixed ( trap and release ) so no more kitties. I did have an interesting time capturing 3 out of 5 kittens.
Mimi was bringing her babies to my back porch for dinner. DH and I kept our eyes out for them. Food dish was next to the door, and when we spotted them eating, I took a crochet knit blanket outside and went around to the back. He was watching through the window, and when I covered the kitties with the blanket, he opened the door and I shoved the whole bundle inside. Mimi took off like I knew she would. I did get bit by one kitty and scratched by another, but I caught three of them. All have homes. My DD took one as a companion to the pretty little girl I caught a couple of years ago. Her picture is still in this thread. I'll post a new one with how Kali looks now along with Nightmare, the kitten.
It wasn't an ideal kitten catch, but I did manage to save three of them. And they all got good homes. Another one went to a fellow Bookseller and she's in love with her little guy.

Kali a big fluffy girl. She was never pregnant like I thought. Vet said it was a pseudo pregnancy with milk. Huh? Nightmare is the black kitty from the feral litter. My DD spoils both of them.
