Stuff moving around on a web page all by itself give me MAJOR creeps, seriously makes my skin crawl. It's one of the reasons I do my regular web browsing in opera without graphics, java or javascript enabled. BUT I can't use opera here or on etsy or even ebay if I need to do some product research. Is there some kind of setting in firefox/anything that will disable this crap completely? I've had that don't use a marquee thing and do not blink from the first time I read about 'em on the net but that doesn't get everything. If it's something 'regular', I can block it using RIP and/or put the host in the 'don't show images hosted by' thing, but I just saw this and I wanna throw a hammer at the monitor www.australiangear.com/barmah-1026bl-black-squashy-full-grain-leather-hat.html I do not want to be accidentally creeped out any more. I want them OFF completely. Anyone know how?

Are you talking about the 2 scrolling galleries on that page? They're both javascript and set to automatically scroll unless you hover over them.

She might be talking about the ads that suddenly morph onto your screen and take over part of the page for a few seconds before fading away. The Weather Channel is particularly bad about those kind of ads.

Not just that page. I don't want anything moving on any web page unless I push something to tell it to move. Is there a way to disable that kind of javascript?

There are also flash block extensions that help with anything that is flash based.

I've never had flash installed. All video/audio is disabled. I'm dyslexic and all that kinda stuff bothers me. Doesn't bother me from the tv but something as close as a monitor, I can't deal with it. I know, I'm odd.

I don't like moving things on the computer either.
Internet access out here in the boonies requires a Verizon Jet Pack with only 16G per month for data. Moving things eat it up TOO fast!!
