My son in law helped me plant 3 containers that I have on my back porch railing. One has a cherry tomato plant, one has a green pepper plant and the third had mesclun lettuce and spinach that I have eaten and replanted.
Next year I plan to get more containers and plant more stuff. So I am feeling much better about not having my big garden anymore!!! And the varmints can't get to them!!!

That's great Denise. Containers are much easier to take care of and you can put such good stuff in them.

We have tomato plants in our small garden but we always get the best cherry tomatoes from the big pot on our deck. And it's so easy to step out there to water and pick them. Also have lettuce in a container pot and it's doing well, cut it all and ate it, now it's on the second growth. When the lettuce was in the garden Mr. Rabbit had a feast.

I know what you mean on the tomatoes, once they start turning red, the whole plant comes ablaze. I have 4 plants in the garden and 2 large pots on the deck. I was giving them away by the basketfuls last year. But it's exciting when you get your first few red ones!

Yay Denise!
Are you going to plant asparagus in a container next year? One of my asparagus plants has continued to produce in spite of the fact that that area is now all grass.
I harvested NINE stalks from it...one at a time. So I will let it stay there since it seems to like it.

My one tomato plant has about 50 greens ones, so that is enough for me. The stalks keep hitting my porch roof so I am tying some to the pillar.

I picked four ripe Black Cherry tomatoes the other day. I'm sure more will be ripened by now. I only wish I had planted a regular sized tomato plant. Anyway, it IS exciting.

Yay on the tomatoes Denise! The 1st ones are SO great. I was all excited about my grape tomatoes and ate 2 thinking to check back later... darned chickens found them before I returned. My zucchini is starting to get large enough to pick... the great zucc giveaway will begin.
