I just want to put this out there for any lurkers we have on this thread who are thinking of trying Tradesy out as a business seller (you have to apply to become one) This process at Tradesy is in beta testing. That means it is not fully functional. When you sign up as a business seller right now you need to know that you may have make changes to the imported listings and not all your listings will come over. Tradesy is not picking and choosing which item they bring over from Ebay. They set up the transfer and whatever the system brings over is what you will have. Tradesy doesnt limit certain brands, they take everything. You can also choose your own price and set up how you want the shipping handled. If you use calculated shipping on Ebay, Tradesy will not bring your shipping over. They cant. What rate would they use? Those who use calculated shipping will either have to stick with free shipping or change the shipping on all of your listings. You can have Tradesy ship the item for you. They charge a rather high amount for shipping. You can set your own price and ship it yourself if you dont want Tradesy to overcharge on shipping. Tradesy charges 9% on the item's total cost. Price + shipping. If you want to transfer the money out to a checking account or Paypal, they will charge you an additional 2.9%. Once this is out of beta testing, there will be more functionality & better syncing with Ebay. I am just surprised at the amount of people I am seeing that are unhappy that things arent working perfectly in this system right now or think Tradesy is somehow trying to limit them. If, for whatever reason, this lack of functionality is bothersome to those who are considering trying it out, maybe waiting until the system is fully operational would be better. Having a bad experience while things arent working 100% could affect your desire to utilize this venue in the future, and it isnt fair to yourself or Tradesy to write them off. If you are willing to put up with some of the headaches of being in on the ground floor, so to speak, there are benefits. Tradesy is LISTENING to the suggestions of the business sellers while they are tweaking things. Something most of us have not seen in years on Ebay. Tradesy is advertising. I saw a TV commercial in the middle of the day and I get 1 - 2 emails a day s a buyer. They are serious about what they are doing and, it seems to me, they are going to be a serious contender to Ebay in the future. But that doesnt mean that this is a site where we can just move our inventory over and suddenly be like the ebay of old. We all wish we could find that.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm good with the transfer, mup. I just didn't realize I'd have to edit everything in detail (I'd have started the process earlier than 11:00 pm, LOL!). I've imported from eBay to Bonanza and to Addoway, sometimes I have to tweak but that's about it. I was expecting it to be more like that. In reality, it would have been easier to just list from scratch. But hey, it's fixed now, so I'm good to go. I do think I'll do new listings in the future though, rather than asking my account rep to import again.
I use flat rate shipping, but when I selected to use my own shipping, there was a calculated shipping option available. I didn't explore it, so I don't know how it works, but the option was there.

I will say one thing though - email communications would have been nice. As in, "we've been swamped with applications - we did receive yours though and will be in contact!" Followed by maybe, "Hi, you're approved! A few tips - one, the professional program is in beta, so you may encounter yada yada". All I've seen is info you've posted. Communications from them would go a long way towards setting them apart from eBay. (And yes, I'll go email the suggestion to them ).

I just want people to be aware because I have seen a few people here and on other boards who are expecting something they may not get right away. Then they get frustrated. that is why I wanted to put this out there for everyone who may be thinking about it.
I agree the communication may not be great. But email your account rep and start a conversation with them. That is where I have gotten most of my info.
Thanks for giving us a dedicated Tradesy board Val!

Is there a difference between being a Tradsey 'business seller' and having a Tradsey selling account? I have about a dozen items up on Tradsey right now, (have had an account for maybe 6 months or so), and other than the look of my home page I haven't heard/noticed any changes.

The only change I notice was being able to import Ebay listings.

Here is the link to apply for a business account at Tradesy. www.tradesy.com/business/You do not have to have one. You can continue to sell in your closet without it.

I've had about 90 of my listings just disappear. Very arbitrarily and slowly, over days, like a leak in a balloon. Any one else have that problem? On the other hand, I've sold two pairs of jeans in the last 3 days (Yay!) while eBay has been all crickets.

Has anyone listed on eBay since the import? Did the new listings get imported? I guess I'm a little confused about that.
Also I noticed a few brands that got garbled in the title - Free People is showing as just "People", Bailey 44 is just "Bailey", etc. I think maybe words like Free and numeric characters are being removed because the system thinks it's related to pricing or sizing, which doesn't go in the title over there?

You have to check all of your imported listings, odyssey. I laughed when I saw that my St John's BAY skort came over as St John.

I have. New listings don't post automatically, at least so far.

According to Jonathan, new eBay listings will not automatically come over. You have to call/email your account rep for another import or manually list them. They hope to offer the auto import in the future, not sure how soon though.

The auto import is in the works. But for now it is not operational. I am adding new listings manually as it is easier than changing everything after the import. Their vision of how it will work in the future is an update between the 2 sites every 6 hours.

On the other hand, I've sold two pairs of jeans in the last 3 days (Yay!) while eBay has been all crickets. I know at least one of my listings has disappeared because I had an ASQ on it last night and when I went to respond, the listing is gone. I sent an email to see if they can find it since I do have an interested buyer. Does anyone know of a way to see the total number of listings we have there? I clicked on one of my listings and where it says to see seller's other listings, it says 500+ but it's kind of hard to tell when stuff is missing when you don't know how many listings there currently are.

You can see your total number of items and number of "loves" at the top of your closet, to the right, underneath the big box for your name. I don't know if it's accurate.

I can see it but I have not checked to see if it is accurate. I actually have about 100 more listings on Ebay that didnt come over.

I had about 320 come over out of about 500 on eBay. I'm now down to 201. And no, sadly, I didn't sell all those. Deleted just a few duplicates, deleted about 4 that had glitches and wouldn't let me edit and sold 2. Where are the rest? Where oh where? I've asked them that question. They are looking into it but no word as yet. And I had taken the time to edit all those too.

Interesting. I had 65 come over from eBay, now I'm down to 53. I did not sell anything on Tradesy yet.

I did report this problem. I hope they get to the bottom of it because it's such a time suck to fix all those listings and then have them evaporate. Don't hesitate to report it too. The more the merrier.

Hmnn. Several items I 'removed' because they sold are totally gone from my 'removed' list. And more items are missing from items available for purchase. OTOH, I did get an email saying my stuff was live and vieawable. Well, the pieces that aren't lost, that is

I continue to have items mysteriously disappear here and there. It's frustrating. I reported the problem. If you see that happening, report it too. Strength in numbers. And we do not want to have to re-do those listings!

I am down nearly 100 listings. Almost the same amount that ended on Ebay the day before. I am wondering if partof the "keeping it synced" with Ebay is working, by pulling the ended/sold listings?

I think you're right, mup. I just looked, I'm down another 10, and some of what is missing on Tradesy did end on eBay.
Problem is, Tradesy needs to tell sellers this. Now I have to either reimport (OMG no) or list brand new, because those listings are totally gone on Tradesy. I'm thinking I might be better off removing all active eBay listings from Tradesy and just manually listing on Tradesy.
Nice site, but they really, really, really need to improve on communications.

I just dropped Jonathan Millar a line about this. If you have time, maybe you should too. This is a real time suck. Especially since it is so hard to load pics on to Tradesy en masse.

If they would change the photo size requirement over there, I would put up all my listings by hand in very quick order.

I find that when I try to upload multiple photos it will take one or two, randomly, and then I have to do it over and over again. Cumbersome and time consuming. And oh, the thought of having to re-do those original almost 300 pickups for eBay as they evaporate when the eBay listings end is making me very, very sad.

Did you suggest to Jonathan that the eBay ended items be moved to the removed area instead of totally zapped? That's what Addoway does, makes them inactive if you do an eBay synch and the items are not on eBay. That way you can reuse them later if you want to.
Addoway's synch is nice. Plays well with eBay and Bonanza.

No, I didn't think of that. I've never heard of Addoway. I'll have to check them out. I didn't really suggest a solution to Jonathan, just that they needed to find one! ETA: Just checked on Addoway. Social media connection so not for me.
