For anyone selling on Mercari, there are some changes that are happening and I think overall, it's for the good.
No more final value fees. Yup, none except the 2.9% + $0.50 payment fee. Fairly substantial savings, IMO.
It now costs $2.00 on all cash out requests ($3.00 for instant transfer). It was free for any over $10.00 and $2.00 for under $10.00. So, it looks like they are trying to make up the FVF loss by charging for all payment requests. I personally am okay with this. I don't make a ton of money on Mercari (although, I probably could), so I usually just leave the money in there to either buy something or build up until it's a bigger deposit. I probably now just won't cash out until I have $50 or more.
I think Mercari is a viable addition to eBay and has way more potential than some of the others, depending on your items.

There sure are a lot of complaints about it. But since Mercari increased their shipping amounts, I seldom have sales on there anyway.
I keep getting messages to spend my huge sum of $8.07 that is in there.

It's the buyers paying those fees now. Not sure how it will work out, and it just seems like a shell game to me. I deactivated all of my listings until I decide what to do - it seems to be the land of people who want that $12 thing for $8 and can I have free shipping. I just mostly list clearance items on there, though sold a cool kilt pin for a good price and a didgeridoo.

I had a Mercari sale last night and the fees were the same as they had been. No buyer fees at all.

Sorry, I think the fees changed today. I'm lucky in the fact that I sell different items and I don't use their shipping. For me, it's much cheaper than eBay but less overall sales, but honestly, I put so very little into Mercari that I haven't even reached potential yet.

I posted on the Mercari site that my buyer didn't have to pay and a lot of sellers said that their buyers have been paying for days. Hopefully they forgot me.

I made another sale and this time the buyer had to pay the fees.

That's going to piss off buyers.

The only other site that I know that does this is Vinted. And I don't make any sales on there.
I am not going to lower my prices on all of my items, but if they "like" an item or make an offer, I will take off enough to make it look good.

I think I opened on Mercari over 2 years ago with just clothes and haven't made one sale so...yay. I'm just too much of a cockeyed optimist to close the store, since it costs nothing. But if I ever sellout my clothes, I will. I never add anything to it.

I've sold a bunch of stuff in Mercari, a little of everything, but clothes seem to be the slowest mover on there for me.

I had more sales on Mercari before they increased their shipping.

I ship about half the stuff on Mercari myself, and for anything heavier (like shoes, etc.) use Mercari's cheapest option which is a good deal.

I always forget I have stuff there. I think I only sold like 6 things there last year.

I have been surprised to make sales that are over a pound on Mercari, when it would have been cheaper on my other sites. But I guess some people only buy on Mercari.
