I regularly make offers to buyers who like my items, and I always have to lower the shipping, it won't go through without it.
I liked an item yesterday and got an offer on it today. $5 off the price of the item but no discount on shipping. How'd she do that?

When you just make an offer (that goes to anyone who has "liked" that item) you must include a shipping discount. If you create a bundle for a specific person you can send an offer without the shipping discount.

I have never had to discount the shipping...for over 3 years. I do use my desktop if that makes a difference.

It always makes me lower the shipping if I lower price to likers, pc or phone.
I only liked 1 item of hers, it wasn't a bundle. It was still a good deal and I took it. I'm just curious as all get out.

oooooh ! I see! I don't go through my listings (too many) and send offers to those who like my items. I thought that you meant the ones who actually approached me and liked my item, from the categories at the top.

I'm just curious as all get out. There's a way to convert a Like into a bundle and make an offer to an individual that doesn't require a shipping discount. It's kind of convoluted but it works if you just want to offer a price discount to one person who "liked" an item without having to include a shipping discount too. The way I do it is as follows:
1. Click on your "News" button and see who liked any of your items. 2. Click on the person's ID name and their closet will pop up. 3. Click on their small avatar picture (right next to their About button) 4. At the top right hand corner of the screen that comes up is a little box with a down arrow. Click on the arrow and select "Switch to sell view". That person's "Likes" from your closet will show up, or their bundle if they've made a bundle from your closet. 5. Click on the Share button below the picture of the item(s) they liked and a "share this listing" will come up. Share to that person (usually it's the top one in the list that comes up). A screen with a blue "Offer" button will come up next. You can then make an offer that will be just for that person on that item (or bundle of items). The discounted shipping space is optional, and you can select from No discount, $5.95, $4.99, or FREE shipping. Click Submit and they will get that offer.
That's probably what she did for you.

Whoa, you have to have a Phd to sell here, apparently. I was just hoping someone would message me that they want a discount and I could just change the price of the listing. Good gravy.

That's probably what she did for you. You can also share your item to create a bundle to the ones who liked your item, after you have identified them from the News button. Make note of their username, click on the picture of your item, and then click the share button and type in their user name and click on it when it comes up. That puts it in a bundle to them. Then go to My Bundles, switch from Shop to Sell (left hand side), and you can make your offers. I like this method when I am wanting to send out a lot of offers. Once I get to My Bundles, I can just run through the list of them pretty quickly.

I think my days on Poshmark are very numbered. Too much work and activity and nothing to show for it. I've sold one thing there since I joined up a couple of months ago. I have given out offers with discounted shipping--I'm trying to sell out my clothing. But I'm not going to give it away and I'm not going to get an advanced degree and learn to love social media. This just doesn't work for me. Mercari is completely dead too. Guess I'm an eBay girl, or bust.

I don't do the social crap. If someone likes an item, I might lower it a bit...depending on how long I have had it. I never discount shipping.
I might make one or two sales a week and they always seem to be newbies that I am not already following. And typically, it isn't an item that I have recently shared during one of the parties.
So I think that it is more likely that someone did a search for something and found mine. I have 1,850 items listed. I list to other sites with a lot fewer sales since it is so easy to cross-post.

I don't do much of the sharing BS. I just cross list anything that I can there and let it sit. I usually get 1 - 2 sales every week to 10 days, but it doesn't take much effort to list something there.

I'm not even giving them my bank info. I'm having them send a check for my one sale. I don't know, it just irks me. I cross post with Jeremy's cross post program but I'm skeptical that it's worth even that effort. And I hate all the emails about parties and shares and things they think I'd like to buy (lol, I don't buy anything) etc. Don't know how to get rid of all those and, maybe just keep the "likes" in case I want to send an offer.

I've decided to stop sharing - Posh was my best selling platform until they changed the algorithm. Sales all over the site dumped and Manesh (owner) signaled the other day at a Poshfest that they're scrapping that algorithm and restoring the older one - guess they were feeling the pinch. The 'new' algo was giving dead and abandoned closets that never shared too much exposure, and the rest of us may as well not bother. I hardly even get any likes.
We'll see - my title SEO is good enough for stuff to come up if people search.

I have never had a problem searching for anything on Posh. I just enter the item into the search bar. But I am just searching to find out what others charge for the same item that I am going to list.
I haven't purchased anything for myself for years.

I think the feed is good for getting more likes and a bit of exposure - the fact that the feed has been busted for months is a big reason, I think, for getting so few likes.
ETA: I'm not sure how necessary it is (or is at all at this point) for getting sales. I was sharing my closet 3 times a day since the new share method makes it so easy, but it's not even worth bothering with. I'll know when an offer/sale drops in when it pops up in my email, which I usually have running in the background.

My sales have increased quite a bit since I started sharing at least once per day. I am just using their share to followers tool. Once I've clicked on that, I use the filter to get to my available items and then click the Select All box and scroll to the end of my listings (the page has to refresh several times to get to the end) and then click the blue Share to Followers button. I do this as I'm finishing up on my computer because you can't click off of the page or it stops the process.
As far as offering discounts is concerned, I have to offer at least 10 to get 1 sale. My discounts on ebay are the same way, though, so I guess people like or watch items for a lot of different reasons, other than wanting to purchase. I still get purchases at full price so I guess some buyers aren't aware you can almost always get a discount if you watch something for a day or so before purchasing.

Somany-thanks for posting this. I didn't know that the share all button was there. But I can only share one category at a time. Like women's dresses or kid's tops. Are you able to share an entire category?
I can only share 40 at a time. But at least I don't have to physically check all of them like I have been doing.
Edited...I did figure it out. I had not scrolled to the end. But this time I did, and went too far. So I had to unclick the sold ones. This sure saves time!!!!
Thanks again!

Denise, sort by only the "available " listings then you won't have to unchecked anything.

"Available and dropping soon" - I found just "available" for some reason didn't work, though maybe it does now. Also, you have to scroll down to get everything to pop up, or you'll get like 48 listings at a time - just keep scrolling down. Make sure you're in "All" and not in any of the departments. I got my phone app stuck on "Women" and it was a real pain to reset it - I have no idea why.
