that can't cancel a shipping label.
Sold a random lot of DVDs on FB Marketplace. They are listed at 7 lbs, so I printed a label. It printed at the 1lb rate. I contact them because of the error and they tell me they cannot cancel labels 'once they are fulfilled and purchased'. I said 'so you can't ever cancel them? because they would have to be purchased in order to cancel." They told me to be sure my items are the correct weight. I told them to look at my items, they ARE the correct weight, this was THEIR error. She again said they couldn't cancel. I said it's amazing that eBay, amazon, pirateship, stamps.com, endicia, mercari and a thousand other sites can cancel a label, but arguably the biggest tech company in the world can't? Then I told them they just lost a customer and I pulled all my listings.

When I see items saying “will ship to you for $10 I know that is wrong. That is why I do local pickup only.

When I see items saying “will ship to you for $10 I know that is wrong. That is why I do local pickup only. Mine was free shipping to the buyer. The shipping for me should have been $7.93 via Media Mail, and it clearly showed that when I looked at my item info (6lbs). When it printed the label, it printed it at 1lb. My buyer would not have known the difference, but they would have when the post office asked them for more money due to FBs error. I ended up printing it through PirateShip.

Good to know. I've only don't local sales in Facebook so far. The shipping always looks crazy low on the listings that offer it.

Sorry Jeremy. I would have printed the correct label as you did and take the non-shipping hit. So far I have been okay with the shipping amount. But there are a lot of complaints about it on Facebook.

I printed the correct weight label thru Pirateship and uploaded the tracking, so all is good except the $3.00 for their label screw up that I will have to eat. I don't buy anything from FB marketplace that would be shipped to me. I've only bought local pick up stuff. I offer free shipping, so the shipping is built into my buy price. My weight was correct and the label should have cost me around $7, but it printed at the 1 lb rate (their error) and they charged me $3. If I had used their label, I guarantee that the customer would have had postage due at priority rate (since the post office always upgrades to priority on incorrect rates). Facebook refused to acknowledge their mistake and 'couldn't' refund the label, which will never be used.

I chalk it up to the experience of eBay relisting a sold item that has sold again. The sites are out to get us....
