Has anyone ever challenged the defect and won? I sold shoes that I actually sold about a year ago. I had to cancel. Since we can now download an Excel report of our transactions I was able to find the original sale. Instead of looking for hours on end. What I can't find is how they got relisted. There's just no way for them to get from the sold side to the relisted side without a glitch? It's pretty aggravating. Just wondering?

This has been happening the entire 17 years that I have been selling. I gave up calling about it. I was even able to give them the exact day that the item showed up again. The rep told me that it was my fault for not running a constant inventory. Uh-huh. Like I am going to constantly inventory 1,600 items.

Anything to lay the blame on the seller when it's their faulty software. I know it's a long shot but when it shows up as a defect, I'll try to appeal.

It can't hurt to try. Good luck.

It's not like doing inventory would even work- my experience with this is that the item shows up on the site, not in our listings. It makes sense to me why this would happen, but makes it impossible to track.

About 2 weeks ago I took quite a few stale listings down. Mostly sweaters that were at least 1-2 years old. About 3 days later one of them sold! Luckily I still had them. They really have to get it together!

Trouble is, when I do inventory and delete the sold items that I find, they still show up in a few weeks.
The only time that they did help me was when a blouse showed up 12 times in duplicate!! It went on for a month and upon my 12th call when I totally lost it, they finally did admit that it was a glitch. They then actually fixed it. TG, the blouse sold a few weeks later.
It was a NWT RL one so I did want to sell it and not just delete the listing. Although it still would have shown up....

My own opinion (take it FWIW) is that these things are database events where updates to the DB itself causes problems. I once had a mouse sell again two weeks after I had already sold it - I didn't even know it was there until it sold AGAIN. It was not accidentally relisted in my store because after I had sold the mouse, I only had two or three others left with completely different SKUs, and the mouse had never been delisted ever to begin with so it wouldn't have been accidentally lurking in my 'ended' listings - it had only been running for a week or so to begin with.
Honestly, I'd far rather have the opposite problem - eBay continually dropping my listings, sometimes only a month after I've listed them.

I do have the dropped item problem also. I am still going through my whole inventory and cross-posting. And there are so many that have been dropped.
