I made a custom engraved garden marker for a buyer. A few weeks later, she ordered another one and said she put the wrong address on the first order. Never said anything else about it. So since she paid, I made another one and shipped it off yesterday. I sell these for $19.95 - $23.95 (with free PM shipping), depending on the wording...more lines means a bigger tag and more expensive. Today the first one showed up in my mailbox marked return to sender.
She hasn't asked for a refund but I'm considering a refund minus the first postage cost, which was pushing $9.00. I can reuse the wire stand, but the tag is wasted. So what would you do?

Maybe you should ask if she wants this one, too. Charge her all or some of the shipping cost to send to correct address.

I would not refund to someone who ordered a custom item and specified the wrong address. I would re-send it to her if that is her choice, with her paying the second shipping cost too. Don't coddle these people!

Update:
I contacted her and asked if she wanted me to re-send it with her paying for shipping. She was very nice and said she realized it was her mistake and politely declined, adding she hoped that I would be able to use some of it over again.

WTF is with that? I had 2 buyers who did the same recently, not a custom made item at least, but I got in a fight with 1 of them. Take responsibility people! Your mistake, you pay to make it right. So sorry, it's so annoying, even if she was polite. HTH are you gonna use it again when it is customized? Ughh. People are annoying!
