I know most of you don't sell on Tradesy but I thought I'd vent here anyway. Tradesy was originally ShopHers and when they bought that site they kept the policy of accepting returns from buyers but reselling the items themselves and letting the sellers keep their money. In short, it was effectively a no returns haven for sellers. When something sells here, I make more money, slightly, than when I sell the same item listed on eBay. Now they are taking all returns for any reason but sending the seller back the item and you lose the money from the sale, effectively forcing everyone to take returns. In my last 8 sales there, 1 was canceled because the buyer didn't read the listing and ordered by mistake, ok that can happen. But four of the items were returns, two of them, a set sold separately, for the 2nd time. One is still out there and can be returned still if the "buyer" wants to. I can't deal with this crap.
The only final sale items on Tradesy are not things that sell for under $50. Most of my items are priced higher. I think, by the end of the year, if not much sooner, I will remove my items--I have a few hundred there now--and just sell my liquidation pieces which will be well under 50 pieces. If you are selling things for less than $50, you might want to try here again if you don't want to take returns and you will be protected. If you have higher priced items, I wouldn't recommend it.

Sorry Frak...
I have about 90 things listed and might sell 1-2 a month, if that. But I have gotten much more for the items than I would have on the other sites.
I only had one return-a pair of NWT leather pants and they were sent back to me. I don't have high priced items, so I guess that helps. Very few over $100.

So it's better to have UNDER $50 items or OVER $50 items insofar as returns? I haven't sold on Tradesy for years and only sold about 55 items there, but I did get more money.

My leather pants were $85, and they were returned since the price wasn't high enough. Guess you should check their rules.
ETA: and I also had a $162 Geiger coat returned, so that was also under the max.

I checked their rules a while ago and saw they had some kind of pricing index and if the price of the item was too high it was grounds for return. Checking them again I see that sales are final under $50 - that's changed since the last time I checked.

I thought that the item would be returned to seller for any reason if the price was under a certain point.
The pants were returned with no reason given. The coat was returned since it didn't fit the buyer.

The website said $50 was the cut-off - things under $50 were final sale, things over $50 could be returned.

The rules now as I understand it--If your item sells for under $50 and it is returned, then they don't allow the return so you keep the money. If over, $50 then they do return it to you (Tradesy pays the return shipping) and you lose the money. Originally, if you sold an item that was within their "fair price" range, then they would resell it if returned so that you could keep your money. No longer.
By years end, I'll only sell my less the $50 items there.

Most of my stuff is under $50, so maybe I'll start listing there again. If I can even find my account.

Okay, I must be demented since that still doesn't make sense to me. I was surprised to see all brands listed on there, not just the high-end.
I will just keep listing the stuff on there since it is easy enough to cross-post there.

Sounds like Tradesy is shooting itself in the foot to me.

Yep. They are blaming this new regime on Covid. But they've gotten a lot of pushback from long time sellers. I ranted like a banshee, for one. It will be this way until the new year a rep told me. So...we'll see what happens.

I pulled all my stuff off of Tradesy sometime last year. Does anyone know how to delete my account there?

You can always write and ask them at team@tradesy.com.

I usually Google to find out how to do that kind of stuff.
