Hey kritter, do you happen to have a link to the style cat tree you usually buy? I'm going to need a new one when I move. The current style is the same brand as the one you buy but a little smaller, and it's really too small for Toby. Plus I need one a little sturdier since he leaps up on the tree from a full speed run

Thanks! I'm not buying one until after the move, but I would like to get it and have it in the hotel room. There should be room to put one up. Toby won't forgive me if he doesn't have a tree Is the base stable enough on that one to handle a leap to the top shelf from a fast run by a heavy cat? The current one was fine for Hootie and Trixie but it really can't handle Toby. It was a little smaller than the one you usually get.

I can verify that the one I suggested will work for Toby. My guys do the running jump thing and none of my trees have turned over yet and they are not in a corner.

The Armarkat one doesn't even wobble when Mr Peepers jumps up on it, & he is about 18 lbs.
That style lasts for years too.

They last and last but mine are really getting raggedy looking. My cats show them no mercy and do not take care of their things when it comes to the trees.

Holy cow. This cat tree is built like a bunker It's solid. It was a pain to assemble but now it's all ready for the cats to play on. And they damn well better use it

Which one did you get? The one I posted above? I bought another one tonight that was 40% off. Not my regular choice but 40% off so there is that.

Sprinkle some catnip on it, that should draw their interest really fast.

I bought the first one you posted, Kritter. I didn't even have to catnip it. Trixie wandered into the living room when I was finished and tested it first. She loved it. Then Toby finally came in and they were playing with each other on it. They like it. Now I just need to figure out where to put it. It's HUGE. Much larger than the one I used to buy. The chairs came in this morning. Once they're assembled, I can move everything around and find its final place. The cat tree may end up at the end of my desk, looking out over the patio at the sliding doors. I like the one you got this time, Kritter. Let us know how sturdy it is once you assemble it. Do NOT buy this one, it's wobbly and you have to shore it up somehow: www.chewy.com/armarkat-gleepet-48-in-faux-fur-cat/dp/157316

The best thing to watch is the base measurements vs the height. The one you linked to above, Val, is way to tall and skinny for that base measurement and would tend to wobble. It doesn't have balance.
I knew that would like that tree because they played on one from small kitten times. That same tree is also in the foster bedroom.

I just assembled the TV console table I bought. That beotch made the cat tree assembly look like child's play.

I haven't gotten it yet. I ordered it on Thursday. Tracking says it will arrive today along with the second cat tree from the first order.
I think it will go in the foster bedroom because after looking at it closer, it only has one entrance in and out of the house instead of the two entrances in our regular cat trees. Tanji doesn't spend that much time in the house in the foster bedroom. He likes the top porch so it will work out for him.

This thing really is sturdy! Toby & Trixie were chasing each other last night, including flying leaps from both of them onto the tree, and it stood its ground.

I told you that was the best one. Cat tested in extreme circumstances here.
