Refreshing Firefox with their new update completely screwed up my saved log-ins and all of my archived bookmarks as well as ancillary data (settings, etc.). Everything just vanished. This is the first time an update has done this in the - I dunno, 15 years I've used the browser - and it's really a bodge of a job on the part of Mozilla. Be very wary of updating at this time - even a system restore didn't fix this and I had to fix the root directory as well as the local directory to get my passwords back. I'll have to work on my library and archives later on when my patience is...um...restored. If you use Firefox and are prompted to update, be careful. I had it update only what I wanted it to, and it still really screwed up my PC. It's way past my bedtime futzing with this.

Thanks for the warning, do you know the release number?

I believe it's 63.0.3 - Firefox is due to release 64 on 12/11 - I can't think of what's going on with this goobertastic update.

I have that release on my computer from 11/17 and I didn't have what you have going on.
No issues with it at all.

Thanks for the warning. Firefox has been annoying to me since the last update which is why I use Chrome now.

Thanks for the warning. Firefox has been annoying to me since the last update which is why I use Chrome now. That last update was buggy. They're doing an entirely new release in a few days - I'm going to download it in a sandbox and see how it goes. A lot of this is dealing with Win10's 'threshold' updates (i.e., service packs in real life). They don't always play well together. The last Win10 service pack should never have been released out of beta - it caused numerous instances of black screens, goobered up utilities and various borkisms. They had to release a win10 release-release to fix that stuff. The LANGUAGE I would hear coming down the hall from the computer room - shocking! shocking! ETA: I have a feeling that part of the problem may be how one sets up their directories and libraries - I have mine still set up from the days when I did data mining when I reconfigured things to make it easier for me to work quickly in a browser.

I'm pretty sure that's the version I'm using b/c I somehow had auto updates on & I haven't had any problems either, but I don't use any of the features you referred to. Nevertheless, it's giving me the impetus to change my updates, as I don't like auto updates on anything. There was 1 change recently, but I thought before this release that is causing me problems, but I assumed it was due to an extension I had. I am going to have to take a closer look at this all. Tho' likely the upcoming update will fix the problems.
ETA: Yup, I'm on that release & I haven't had problems, but I use FF sparingly & don't use the features you mentioned.
