I bought 2 rolls of Thibaut wallpaper, both unopened. I was debating whether to open and unroll one of the rolls a bit to show the print. It has a bird on it, but you can't see it when it is rolled. Below is a link to the wallpaper pattern. What would you do? TIA.

I'll get slammed for this, I'm sure, but I'd look on Google and see if I could find a picture of the print without a watermark and use it before I'd open the roll.

Thanks Val. I kept thinking I wish I could use the link but I know we're not allowed. I never thought of just using a picture. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time finding anything on this print other than the link I posted. I'll keep looking.
Some of these rolls go for good money, so possible woohoo.

What is the pattern name and number? Maybe one of our internet sleuths here can find it for you.

I would open one and unroll a bit, take the photo and re-roll it, then explain that you did this to give the buyer an actual photo of the product. It would be quicker and easier, plus you can also get a feel of the paper to describe that, too.

If you can't find an exact photo of it on the internet, then go with what Chap said - unroll just enough of it's clearly visible. You may save yourself a SNAD.

I use photos from the internet from time to time, too, but in this case I think just photo'ing the actual product is so easy that I wouldn't take the time tracking down something.

I found some pics on Pinterest, but they're no longer on Thibaut's site:

The pattern number is 839-T-8102 brand Thibaut. I did find out pattern name (?) is Jacaranda. I think it's vintage but not 100% sure so I'm hesitant to list as such.
Thanks all for your opinions. I'll probably go with what Chap said.

I agree with Dantes. With the wrong buyer, that could be a SNAD in the making and you have no way to prove those rolls were the pattern that you said it is.
Anything can be label mismarked.

I'd take a picture of both sealed packages to prove they were both sealed, then open one enough to show a good picture of the image. Anything can get mislabeled or have damage on the first few feet of paper in spite of packaging. After all, it's not like someone's going to buy the 2 rolls to keep them archived as in NIB or NIP; they'll probably get used. Just write a detailed description explaining what you did. Nice find!

I really hesitate to sell anything like that which I haven't at least done some inspection unless the sealed container is part of the value of the item (i.e., old toys, display items, etc.). If one is good, the other one is probably going to be good, also. You can also use the pinned photo (just cut it down a bit) along with that. I usually just attribute the photo somewhere.
