www.ebay.com/itm/142678403678I'm listing some jewelry that belonged to a friend's mother, would love some advice on this piece. She had some designer stuff but mostly costume. It's faux amber (I think - it feels too light to be real - the whole necklace weighs 195 grams). The clasp looks like cheap brass and is stamped INDIA. Anyone have suggestions for keywords or pricing?

Real amber is warm to the touch unlike stones which are cool to the touch. It is also lightweight. If you google how to tell real from fake there are a few methods that may help, like rubbing with a cloth and seeing if they have a resin scent. Or floating in salt water which may not work for your whole piece.

Thanks for the info - I thought amber was heavy.

Actually amber is surprisingly light but it's a tree sap or resin, not a stone. And it isn't always terribly expensive (different grades or quality) so an older piece with real amber could have a brass clasp and have come from India.

They are not amber beads. But it's a cute necklace and your keywords seem right. Looks like the fun, inexpensive ethnic-inspired stuff from Cost Plus back in the day. I used to call them teacher necklaces.
