I imported all of my listings on both of my CD accounts. If I get a few sales per month, then that would be cool. If not, I spent about 10 minutes total on everything, so no big loss. www.bonanza.com/booths/bridgetown

Keep us updated! I've thought about it, but I may open my own website on Big Commerce instead. I'm waffling.

The absolute ONLY reason I did it is because of the importer. If I had to manually list stuff, I wouldn't have. We'll see how it goes!

It looks good! I was on Bonanza before and nothing really sold but I'd be willing to try it again since Tradesy and Etsy seem to be dying. The more eyes the better.

I'm wondering if I Tweet lots of stuff from Bonanza if it would help at all. Someone here (Staytuned?) used to sell a lot on Bonanza and knows a lot about it - she said the admin there really screwed up the site. They keep acting like it's the next big thing, but it's having problems gaining traction. Maybe I'll load all my vintage onto Bonanza, too - at the rate things sell on Etsy I doubt I'd have a double sale. Now, just wait...the first thing I sell on Bonanza I will also sell at the same time on Etsy.

OK, I just gave you your first (or was it second?) sale - I didn't have to sign up or anything, just had to pay with paypal. How curious.
ETA: OMG! They saved my settings from when I was trying to sell there!

They saved my settings from when I was trying to sell there! Yay! Thanks Chap! I was like "Whoa! I just got a sale on Bonanza!" Then I was like "Wait, I know that name!" haha I'll get this out in the morning, but now I have to figure out how to do their order process and shipping. I wonder if it linked email addresses or if your PayPal account was still in the system? ETA: The packing slips are customizable, but they charge a $0.95 processing fee for printing postage through their program! I'll do that through PayPal.

My old booth was still in the system from a couple of years ago.
I'm importing my Etsy items - they use a CSV file so I guess it takes a while. I'm trying to figure out how to fix the store front now. Do you have a paid membership?

I'm on the 6% membership plan (which they seem to have abolished). I'm trying to decide if it's worth trying a paid membership for a couple of months for greater advertising or if it makes any difference at all. I think I'll just tweet stuff for now, though.

Bonanza got venture capital funding a while back and everyone was hoping they'd use some of the funds to advertise....
Nope. They didn't.

I've had a booth for about 2 or 3 years. I think I sold 3 things so keep your expectations low! But ya never know?
They finally updated the site and removed all my old listings.
Good luck

I have zero expectations. I've been there over 5 years, tried to make a go of it, sold 1 thing and closed up shop. I was there when they got the venture capital money, like Val stated, and did who-knows-what with it. I tried to import when I sold clothing and it was horrible. With my current items, they are an easy import, they just take forever for some reason.

So far my Etsy import hasn't done anything. I guess I'll wait until this evening (their stated 24 hours).
It may be easier for me to batch up the vintage and just get rid of it in a FB group, or blow it out on my cheap ID.
ETA: I get the feeling that the CEO is all hat and no cattle - he talks big but what is he *really* doing to promote the site?

With all the options to 'pay for more traffic', I'm guessing he isn't doing anything. I've never seen a site with so many different options to get your items viewed; paid membership, higher FVF, turbopacks, etc. But, since they don't do squat for advertising that is what seller's need to do there and Bonanza is reaping the rewards.

I've been on Bonanza almost since their beginning. It started out great. For the last few years I sell maybe one item per month and it's usually something that has already sold on ebay long ago.

Well, the import failed. They wanted a CSV file, I gave them a CSV file then...nada.

So, it's been two weeks. I have over 1300 items listed. I'm getting less than 10 TOTAL views per day. Not <10 per item, <10 TOTAL on 1300+ items! I'm on the 13% plan. I refuse to go up to 19% or 30% just to sell something and make less than what it would have sold for on eBay. Honestly, this whole site is a money grab for the owners with all of the ways you have to pay to get people to view your items. Not impressed at all.
I think I'm going to build my own website.
ETA: I also hate how I have to constantly refresh my listings for Google shopping.

About 5 yrs ago Bonanza could have given eBay a run for it money, but they just don't have the right leadership and motivation. It's too bad.

About 5 yrs ago Bonanza could have given eBay a run for it money, but they just don't have the right leadership and motivation. It's too bad. I agree - they were really on track for that, but it's another case where a CEO had a great idea, got it up and running, then needed to step back and let a good merchandiser take over and run operations. Years ago I worked for a small manuscript editing/copy editing/transcription where the CEO was great at starting it up, wining and dining clients, etc., but not so good at operations. She would hire supervisors to run that, but then couldn't keep her sticky hands out of things and micromanaged everything. She eventually ruined a good thing. It's an unfortunate byproduct of startups.

This is the 5th time TODAY that I have had to refresh my shop for Google shopping. Completely ridiculous. I am paying more than I pay on eBay so they can bring me traffic (13% FVF) and I'm not even getting traffic. Here are my item views over the last week:
7/6 - 1 7/7 - 6 (the highest!) 7/8 - 0 (wha?) 7/9 - 2 7/10 - 2 7/11 - 3 7/12 - 3
Sorry, Bonanza. I'm going to give you until August 15th. If I haven't made a sale before then, I'm outtie. I spend more time updating my site for Google shopping and switching between my syncs so my items are correct than I do on eBay!

Blech. I had no luck at even importing, and I tried several times. I think I'll just skip it - I have so many venues going right now that it's driving me nuts.
I agree - it's good to give something new a good try, but if it's not working with diligent effort, and the site has a poor track record, I'd not put much more time into it. A poster on Ina's blog keeps talking about how they love ecrater - I've never heard of anyone selling anything there, and never hear about it online.

My main reason for trying Bonanza is the importer. eCrater has an importer, but it's horrible. I've tried there to import stuff and it throws it into 1 category that you can't change. Over the years I've probably created 10 accounts on eCrater and never sold a single item.

Remarkably, I had a sale last night. Of course, after paying a 13% FVF, I made less than what I would have if it sold on eBay. But, a sale is a sale.

You may have the right product and amount to sell on there!

You may have the right product and amount to sell on there! The bad thing is their minimum FVF is 50 cents. That's twice what I pay on eBay (around 26 cents). I won't raise my prices because a sale is a sale and with the import and sync it will change them back anyway. But, if I can built it up and get an extra 20 sales per month, then I'm okay with that.
