I'm selling a vintage unmarked doll; my research led me to believe it's an unmarked Ideal Little Miss Revlon doll and I said that in my description and condition IS. The auction has 14 watchers and 1 bid at opening for 14.95. Now someone has contacted me saying the doll isn't Ideal and neither are the clothes. I never claimed the clothing was Ideal but said it was home sewn or professional with no labels. I'm wondering what to do now; whether I should contact the bidder and ask them if they wanna cancel or let the auction run its course and deal with the winner at that time. The person that contacted me may know her stuff or may be full of beans, lol; IDK. Can the seller contact the high bidder? I don't see where it's even possible. WWYD? The auction ends Monday- this is it. Thanks for any advice!

If you're questioning your auction and the info you provided, then do contact your bidder.
The one who contacted you may or may not be correct. Can you verify the info on the doll board?

Doll board? On eBay? No, I never even thought about that.... had totally forgotten about them. I did my own research on various doll id sites and cross-referenced their photos with listings on eBay and Etsy to compare my doll and others. Maybe I should post her email and my reply on the listing where Q&S's show up.

You should be able to see who your bidder is. Use the find member search, and then use the eBay email system to contact him/her.

Thanks to your both! I just sent a "wanna cancel your bid" message to the bidder. If the bid is cancelled I can edit the listing or end it. Actually it was easy to contact her but I missed seeing the link at first.

There use to be a doll board, not sure how often it's used. I haven't been to the boards forever.
Not sure you should have sent a want to cancel message. I was thinking more of just contacting and explaining that you're not 100% positive with this auction.

Eh, either way works for me. If she cancels her bid I'll either edit the existing auction or end the auction, do more research and relist for the same price. I'm hoping she'll just say she knows what the doll is and is happy with her bid... I expect the same of most of the watchers. They probably all know exactly what the doll is and how much to bid. Doll collectors are sharp... I'm just learning.

I'd probably end it until I could verify what I had just to prevent any problems.

Well, I contacted my bidder and here's her reply-
Hi Sandra, Thank you for writing. Since I've been outbid I won't worry about it. And I do think the doll and clothing are easily worth the amount I bid so no need to retract.
I think I'm going to let the auction run and keep my fingers crossed that it ends ok with a happy buyer. Since I accept returns for any darned reason, I'm used to returns and refunding if necessary.
