If you list on Poshmark, would you recommend it?
I'm just trying to find another place to list my stuff. Things that would normally sell are just sitting there. Help!

I do. It's not great. Unfortunately it is saturated too. Tradesy is better if that explains it better.
But I would try it. You probably have better inventory than me and will do well.
This is my second try with Poshmark. First time, 3 months and no sales. This time, 2 months- 3 sales.
No Paypal, bank account only, best offers galore, app only no website selling, and very time consuming.
Good luck!

Thanks Jelly. I'm just trying to brainstorm how to move some of this stuff. If nothing else works, I will be having a huge garage sale this spring.

Actually that may be a very good idea! I had one ladt Spring and moved alot of stuff. But I sell collectible stuff too so it was alot of that.
But as far as Poshmark, try it and see if you like it. Thats the best way.
One good thing is it doesn't take alot to set up an account and then stop selling if it doesn't work out.
I just want to add: Unfortunately, out of all the other venues I've ever tried or currently sell on, none can compete with Ebay as far as sales volume. They're not even close. For example, the total amount I've sold on Tradesy which is my second highest volume, is about 2-3 weeks worth of sales on Ebay. I've been selling on Tradesy for over 2 years. I know that doesn't say much for myself but even high end sellers can probably say the same thing.

How about Mercari? You'll also be stuck with a mobile app, but it looks a lot more organised - Betty sells there. I was thinking of it, too - I can borrow a smartypants phone to use if needed. Unless you sell NWT stuff or have a lot of stock, I think the time is coming where we'll all have to spread out. I'm on four sites now. Etsy is dead but that's just vintage and supplies and so a limited market, but I have all this stuff to list, too. I live in a lousy area for garage sales - you need a trail of crumbs to find my house.

I gave Poshmark a try. In the past few days I've been hevaily listing, liking, sharing, following etc. I HATE it. I HATE HATE HATE the social aspect of it. I hate mindless sharing and following. I got several stupidly low offers on stuff that said "price is firm". A dozen or more scam messages (when they comment how interested they are and to please contact them directly as a certain email). I gained like 1000 followers in 3 days. It seems that Poshmark is full of sellers who try to sell to each other and very few actual buyers. Everyone is eager to get rid of their crap (90% of items there are simply horrible) and is not looking to buy.
I scored a NWT Eileen Fisher dress for $18 though. Almost snatched an Eskandar for $30, but someone grabbed it minutes before me.

I know this is an old thread but wondered if anyone else had moved to Posh? I have all those things that are mall brand size medium and large and I think this is the place to move them. I listed a few things yesterday and sold one right away. No measuring, no stress and I love the flat rate shipping. I think I can try to unload some heavier shoes there.

I’ll chime in again. Poshmark is ok and can be really good but it’s alot of work. You have to share your items alot as well as other sellers. Ebay is still number one for me. But I looked at my ilder post in this thread and realized that Tradesy is just about dead for me.

Do you see it as better option for heavier items? I'm in California, so shipping things like coats and boots can be cost prohibitive when shipping is added across the country.

Yes as long as you don’t go over 5 pounds. Anything over 5 pounds requires added postage which you have to request. I haven’t had that happen yet.

I sold some jewelry on Posh (funky younger stuff like Tarina Tarantino). The selling process was very simple. I'm going to try putting some Anthro / juniors stuff on there, but I wouldn't bother listing better/more "grown-up" brands.

I put a few more things up and yes it does seem to be all sellers interacting. I do like how quickly things happen. I sold a top on the 31st and it was received on the 2nd and funds released today.

I was just thinking of trying Poshmark. I am not hopeful, since I dont have time to be social on there. Going to use up my 50 free listings a month on Ebay too.

My review of Poshmark so far is ok. There are certainly benefits for buyers on heavy things since I am in California. On ebay I have to charge $9-$12 for shoes or sweaters that wont fit in a flat rate. On Posh its something like $6.50 up to 5lbs. This encourages bundles. I sold two things I had cross posted to ebay but the rest are all things that wouldn't sell on ebay, had flaws and boots that wouldn't be cost effective. I sold really cheap things. As far as the social aspect, I don't really interact much. At night I'd spend about 1/2 hour just hitting "follow" on hundreds of users. In a couple weeks I have about $200 I probably wouldn't have made on ebay. They take 20% but there is no hassle with figuring shipping and posh is really anti returns. Listing is super easy and keywords aren't as necessary as they are on ebay. It's less brand driven. You dont get billed and you can get a direct deposit or a check. Yesterday I became a Posh Ambassador. I'll have to look into what that means, but I think it's their version of Power Seller. Their bar isnt set too high if I got it in just a few weeks with about 50 listings. If you want to see my closet poshmark.com/closet/bitterchipmunk and if you'd like to sign up, feel free to use my code BITTERCHIPMUNK and it will give you a discount from your first purchase, I think. My best advice is to list your first things a little high and heavier things. The first person to buy from you gets 1/2 price shipping. A lot of users swoop into new closets for this discount. The other advantage of starting a bit high is that after you have likes on an item, you can do a price drop and it will notify everyone that liked it. Sometimes a price drop will trigger 1/2 price shipping too. I'm still learning but its good for me and the bags of teen mall clothes friends have given me. Oh, sold prices can be deceptive because of bundle discounts and you have to look at several.

I followed you Kat! Way to go being a Posh Ambassador already. You work quick. I see that earlier in this thread I said Tradesy was better than Posh.I take that back. Tradesy is pretty dead for me. Posh is not great either but better than Tradesy. I average about 1-2 sales a week on Posh. I think I sold 1 thing on Tradesy in the past 3 months.

You have a nice closet. After things calm down here I plan on adding some more to mine and dilute the turd parade I have going on.

I followed you as well. I hadn't heard about Posh Ambassadors before, sounds like you have to do a lot of social stuff: mommyhustles.com/index.php/2017/10/21/poshmarkambassador/Here are the Posh Ambassador requirements: Community Shares: Share at least 5,000 items from other Poshers’ closets Self-Shares: Share your own items at least 5,000 times Available Listings: Have at least 50 available listings in your closet Listings Sold: Made at least 15 sales Average Rating: Have an average rating of at least 4.5 stars Average Ship Time: Have an average ship time of less than 3 days

The only thing I dislike about Poshmark is the photo filter tool. I don't want to buy stuff that's yellowed and Instagram-y, I want to see at least somewhat accurate color representation.

I don't do any social stuff except reply to comments made on my stuff and re-share if someone shares mine. When I started, I kept posh open and whenever I was waiting in line, wasting time online etc, I shared my own closet and followed people. I'm kinda surprised I shared my things 5000 times!

Kat and Ahrn, I just followed you. I'm already following Jellybean. I'm just learning the ropes over there and have sold a few things but I hate the haggling and social aspect. On the other hand listing is easy. poshmark.com/closet/alliesposhshop

Eh, I composed myself and decided to give it a try again. SOld 3 items in a week or so, which I consider impressive, because of how few followers I have and generally got NO CLUE of what i'm doung sharing/following wise. Please feel free to add/follow/share/like/whatever me poshmark.com/closet/makinmagicSharing sucks and I don't get it. Oh God, I even made a "meet your posher" post *facepalm*

I'm following you! And yeah, the sharing/following stuff is kind of a pain at first, but I just make a point of following anyone who follows me. And when I have the time I share listings of similar brands to what I'm selling (mostly Lululemon right now). This is me: poshmark.com/closet/drusilla_rocks

Thanks Jelly! You have a lot of nice stuff, too (and I love the whitewashed background in your photos)!

I love seeing everyones picture- you guys are so cute! makin- I pictured you totally differently in my head! I have not sold on poshmark yet, but I have bought a few things and if I had more time I would try it. I am backed up enough with just eBay at this point!
Can you use mannequin pics on poshmark? or would I need a different layout?
I followed you all, I'm shannonmike745 on there too.

You can use manni pics. The only big difference is Posh photos are square -- I reused some of my Ebay photos by adding white space (vertical or horizontal) to them.

OK, I'm going to open up on Poshmark again - I was a little overwhelmed with other stuff when I did it before and didn't really have time for it - now I do. Not sure what I carry will jive with it but I have a load of junior-y stuff to get rid of (boho stuff).
