I want a snow day tomorrow! Or at least a 2 hr snow delay in the morning. But nooooooo, looks like everywhere else in the state is getting snow but us. We're getting 50 mph canyon winds in the a.m. With about 26 degrees. Dang that's going to be some serious wind chill. OTOH…the base has already announced a 2 hour delay…maybe the school system will decide that's too low of a wind chill for the kids to stand in… Hey, one can hope.

Our forecasts say we'll be in the 70's next week.
50's and rain for what's left of this week.

The weekend and first of next week should be gorgeous. We just all want a snow day at the office tomorrow (we do whatever the school system does, makes it easy for the employees). Right now, just the east mountain schools are closed tomorrow. Rest of APS is open for the moment. But I was very surprised to see that Kirtland AFB already announced a 2 hour delay. They rarely do that ahead of an announcement from APS.

Well poo, no delay for me. Courthouses are on 2 hr delay, the base & UNM are on 2 hr delay (and they rarely delay), the other school district is totally closed today, but hey, the school busses are running and APS is not delaying. Boy are heads gonna roll on the news tonight.

HA! I had a 2 hour delay yesterday, topped with a 2 hour release. You would think with 4 "extra hours" added into my day, I would have gotten more eBay stuff done. But NO! Today, school for DS is on a 2 hour delay, but I have to leave for work now I could really use a snow WEEK right now.

Usually you get the snow up there and we get none, but today is the reverse. Mother nature is having a backwards day.

I am just glad that we don't have snow here. Just a bunch of rain and wind.
Not complaining but have to go to the post office in this slop.
Since I got the listing promo, will come back and list all my sandals.

We're supposed to get a nor'easter on Saturday here with rain, freezing rain and snow. I have to work on Saturday. But I also get to decide if we should close the shop or not. Though if we close, I won't get paid unless I take a personal day. It sure would be nice to stay at home in bed until whenever and toddle around in my PJ's all day. And get caught up on eBay.

It stopped snowing here and it's all melting like crazy and running down the streets. Temps tonight are supposed to be in the mid 20's so all that water is going to freeze and make black ice. I just hope people will be careful out there. Usually when this happens there are lots of accidents.

I wish we could have a snow day tomorrow. I am subbing tomorrow, and would rather stay home listing. It is chilly here today, about 40 out, with rain. It was very dreary today. Tomorrow will be more of the same, but we can look forward to sun and a nice weekend.

No more snow expected for here today, just cold cold cold. 22 degrees this morning, yeah, I know, that's not cold for some of you, but for us desert hothouse flowers it's holey moley what the hell cold. Some snow still around from yesterday, mostly in shaded or dirt areas, but it is melting fast.

I see so many people mention delayed starts on different boards. I never even heard of a delayed start until this year. We don't have them here. Even when it's -15+ windchill we start right on time. Unless it's icy and the backroads are unsafe we have school. Last year we missed over 20 days due to ice and snow. So far this school year we haven't missed any.

Ah, but are you in an area that is normally equipped to deal with snow and cold? ABQ has snow plows, so we don't always get delayed starts. It just depends on the snow falls, when the city can get out and deice, and how diffucult it will be for the school buses to pick up the kids. The school district moved the east mountain schools to it's own 'zone', so that's greatly reduced the number of delayed starts and closures. Now they can just announce 'east mountain schools 2 hr delay" and everyone else is on normal schedule. The east mountains (east side of the main ridge here in town) gets 60+" snow a year; the city on the other side however might get 5" of snow a year, maybe. We had below zero temps two winters ago, which is very unsual for us. The schools had to do a delay because it was so cold the school buses wouldn't start. Unlike MN, we don't have battery warmers here.
