Any updates? We all care about what happens with the cat and hope it has the life that it deserves.

Hello all. Checking in. We went to Isabella's therapy appointment and we talked about things in depth about keeping it as a therapy animal. Her therapist thought it would be beneficial and was wrote up papers for us to keep the cat. Yes, I have had cats before. I know the costs involved and I know that things can get expensive if an emergency happens. I will put the cost of food and other supplies in the budget and save the money needed from my next check to get her fixed. She's getting used to being here now. She's eating better and isn't hiding in the closet anymore. She's out and wants attention and is starting to make herself at home. I really think things will be fine. I appreciate all the concern and advice. I know you all have my, the kids and the kitty's best interest in mind.

I'm sure Isabella is happy, I hope the cat will be happy too. Please get her fixed pronto so that you're not dealing with a litter several months down the road.

Aw, what a beautiful kitty! I have a soft spot for calicos/torties.
I agree with blissfullymiserable about getting her spayed asap. The sooner that female cats are spayed, the less their risk of developing breast cancer. Before their first heat is best. I learned this the hard way, and that's one mistake I'll never make again.
In my area, if you really hunt, you can occasionally find places that spay for free, and $20 isn't unusual.
Your daughter must be thrilled!

Your cat is beautiful - she looks like my second cat we ever had about 40 years ago - her name was Muffins and she lived a long life with us including three moves. I'm glad Isabella can get to keep her. Do get her spayed as soon as possible - if she gets out the door, no telling what may happen.
Good Luck Jeremy!

Thank you. I will be setting up an appointment to get her spayed next week.
EDIT: I qualify for $10.00 spay (low income) and am making an appointment today for as soon as possible.

LMK if you need any 'cat stuff', Jeremy. I had to take a cat I rescued to a shelter when I was a kid and I've never forgotten it - I'm always eager to help others in this fix.

There are also places that will give you food and care for animals. Run a search for places that help low-income people or talk to the clinic when you take the cat in for spaying.
P.S. Beautiful little kitty!
