I picked up Tuxley earlier this week from the city shelter. He was hit by a car on 5/22 and apparently suffered from head injuries and an injured foot. The shelter was under the impression that he is blind but I am sure that he isn't. He may not have prefect vision but he can see enough to be adoptable. Tuxley is in with the Sixlets and Sabrina so I could watch him in action. The Sixlets are a clannish bunch and still growl at him. I have instructed Sabrina to step up her lessons on accepting others even if their ear is injured and they come from a different part of town.

He is probably 7 to 8 weeks old. Right around two pounds so he will be ready to go in for his neuter and then adoption.
I am hoping that we can put his pic and story on the rescue website and he will be preadopted.
All of the Sixlets leave next Tuesday for their surgeries and adoption.

Very very cute! He won't have any problems getting adopted. Plus he will hopefully have time to finish his degree at Sabrina's school. Alot of people are looking for cats with a degree nowadays. Especially from such a prestigious school! Ha

That little angel is like the one I spotted here, he is too cute. OMG I would have a hard time not keeping him. He looks like he just wants to play and get in all sorts of trouble, adorable!

Just talked to the rescue and Tuxley is going in for neuter and then adoption next Saturday. So, when the thuglets go in Tuesday and Tuxley next Saturday, the first session and only session of 2016 KuppyKakes summer skool session will be over.

Notice she specifically said "summer", Shirley. She's leaving herself wide open for the fall and winter sessions

But this is kitten season, and there are tons of them out there. I dont see her getting thru the season without taking more, she is too soft hearted.

Sabrina said that we are done. The Sixlets are on her last nerve.
Next week this time Sabrina will be getting another haircut. She doesn't know that yet.

Anyone want to start a new poll on when the next kitten batch hits Kritters house?

I would have thought it'd be easy to tell if he was blind or not by waving a mouse at him and seeing if he watches it. And then you could chuck it and see if he goes over to it. Dumb shelter.
Or maybe his sight is coming back from the head injury? If his ear was involved then his head certainly was.
He's a cutie. I bet he'll be snapped up before those naughty, snobby sixlets are. (Except my Marlin, who probably wants to be friends but is afraid of being ostracised from the group.)
"No more kittens!" I swear there's an echo in here!

Blind cats can "feel" sensations in the air and "feel" movement so it is hard to tell if a cat is blind other than watching it in a new surrounding.
Blind Lucy is my best fly catcher here because she can sense the fly's movement in the air and follow it. It is really something to watch when she hones in on a fly.
