She's part of why it took soooooooooo long to take pics today. Ok, maybe not her fault. I really should blame the stupid camera since every time I touched the lens cap the camera thought it was closed. Argghhh. She really wasn't that much of a distractiion. She did supervise the whole session though.

Pretty good. He gives her a bath when he's being tolerent and when he's had enough, he swats her upside the head.

I think she'd rather he played a bit more, though.

OR she wants to make sure Val is working so she can keep buying catnip, cat litter and cat food.  Call me cynical, but I know cats.  Even little ones.

She's a snuggler, mup. Pick her up and she immediately starts purring.

She decided to ignore my hitting the snooze button this morning and pounced on Hootie to get him to play. He was all curled up next to me, warm and snoozing (it was rather cold this morning) and he wasn't having anything to do with it. He hissed at her and she backed up so fast she fell off the bed. He just curled up again and went back to sleep. As did I. Trix went into the living room and quietly played with her new mouse toy.

He won't even growl or hiss at her when she finishes her canned food and starts eating his. He just looks at me with this "mooooooooooom" look. I told him to suck it up and hiss at her, I'd back him up. Instead, he's started trying to edge her out of the bowl.

I dunno, Val, I think I'd be doing something about the food situation. Some cats will never hiss, they'll just put up with it. But it must be stressing him out and he's OLD, Val. He deserves to eat his dinner in peace.

I may start feeding her in a separate room. I hate to do that, but she's a little glutton with the canned food.

Right now, I pick her up and pet her while he's finishing up his canned food.

Boy, she learns fast. Hootie hissed her off the bed yesterday morning when she decided to ignore the snooze. This morning, she snoozed right along with me and the Hootster.

I don't think you need to feed her in another room if you don't want to.   Picking her up is fine if she likes it (some cats hate being touched just after they've eaten) or play with her.  Teaching her where to draw the line with food is probably a good thing for her later life anyway, for example if she ever gets fat and has to diet you'll already have a "stop eating" routine in place.

Two of my cats gobble their food then sit two feet away and watch Bubby finishing hers.  Age isn't her problem, she's just always been a ladylike eater.  They tried barging in on her but she's Boss Cat so she fought them off.  Then one tried subtly pushing his head closer and closer to hers til he could get at the food.  lol.  It was funny to watch but I stopped it.  I'm not happy with them watching her but I've decided it's a compromise we can all live with.  I don't think she notices them, really.

Sometimes it's a pain having to supervise Cat Dinner but it's only 15 minutes a day so I do it.  Bubby won't eat if I'm not there, for one thing, and there have been lots of other issues over the years.  Sigh.

I've been telling her NO when she goes to his bowl and moving her over to the dry food bowl (if she's already finished her wet food). She got the hint, last night she stepped back, sat, and watched him finish so I told her good girl and picked her up and petted her. I figured I should use the petting as a reward when she did something good (leaving Hootie alone) instead of a punishment (picking her up immediately so he could eat). If that makes sense, that is.

Tonight, told her NO, she walked a little bit away, watched him for a bit, then came and sat by my feet and meowed at me until I picked her up. 

She learns fast

Love those photos! LB supervises the photo taking, and the tux manages the packing. Division of labour.

Ours stick to their own eating spots - LB on the right, the tux on the left. They wrassle and throw each other (with loud thumps, hissing and banging) while we dish it up, then move in harness to the laundry room to their own spots, and sit and wait. The tux used to try to grab LB's food since LB is a slow eater, but we would just move her away or banish her. Now she'll watch LB but she won't touch, or just look around at one of us with big eyes saying "more noms?" They're pretty smart.
