Glad you're happy with the process, but the labels really should seem sticky enough not to tempt you to tape them. You bought them from a reputable seller, so they should be good.
Have you tried to peel one off after you've stuck it on to a package?
If I worked at it, I think mine would peel off of a policy mailing envelope, but I don't worry about it coming off by itself. I do make sure to press around all the edges, though, and when I use them for an international poly envelope package, I add a piece of tape to the top and bottom of the label as an extra precaution.
Sorry you haven't been feeling well.

I can peel my labels off very shortly after I put them on, but it only takes a few minutes before they're on there well and truly.
Laser and thermal ink doesn't run.

I am thinking now I may go ahead and get one of the label printers mentioned in this thread. I am leaning towards the dymo that Josh mentioned. The prices on it look reasonable especially for used. The labels I ordered are awesome and I am loving not having to cut my own anymore, I just don't like that I have to pull out the paper tray and switch out labels to regular paper if I want to print something else. It wouldn't be a big deal but the area in front of my printer is a huge catch-all for all kinds of random stuff that accumulates on my desk. It's a pain to move all that stuff and then pull out the tray. I should just keep my desk a bit more tidy but it isn't going to happen. But yeah other than that these would be great! Thanks everyone with all your help it's really appreciated!

You know, I didn't even think about that. My printer has 2 trays. I keep paper in tray 1 and labels in tray 2.

OK. I'm just going to break down and buy one I've only got 37 shipping labels left and 2 of my ink cartridges are low. Perfect time to buy. Thanks for the recommendation Josh! I'm going to go with the Dymo 450 you suggested. For those of you that have these thermal printers--do you use genuine Dymo labels, or do you have a recommendation for less expensive labels to use? I'm still looking for quality tho, something hassle free that sticks well.

Got everything set up. Printed a test label. Worked great.
It will not print my eBay labels. They come out blank.
I did a little research. Looks like it's a Mac problem/Java problem. I think.
I'll do some more research tonight. I'd love for this thing to work for me, but I'm not getting any warm fuzzies about it.

I looked into getting a Zebra printer a few years ago but thought it would be problematic with my mac.
Youtube may have a work around for you.

I ended up getting the LabelWriter 450 turbo.
I think if I had a PC, I would love it.
I looked at the "workarounds" but really? Why? I'm just going to send it back and stick to what I've been doing all along.

I was reading some reviews on a dymo on amazon and someone said not to buy dymo but instead get a zebra because you can then get free labels from ups. Does anyone do this? That would definitely make a big difference. Here is the post that was in the q&a section:
Will I need to purchase labels from DYMO to print or can I buy cheaper labels on amazon to use?
Don't buy DYMO printer. You can get a Zebra printer and get free labels from UPS. DYMO tries to draw you in with a lower price for printer, but over the long run of paying for labels you will pay a lot more. I found that if I paid $100-$200 more for a Zebra I would save $3000-$4000 per year on labels.

If you're shipping UPS, sure use the free labels. It isn't right to take free labels from UPS and ship USPS though IMO.
I got an email blast at work over the weekend from Office Max/Depot that said the Dymo 450? (I'm bad at numbers, I think that was the model) printers are supposed to be on a special buy tomorrow. Could not find what the special price was going to be though.

I thought it said from usps at first and had to edit my post so I was already a little bummed it wasn't usps. I never use ups but I do use fedex a lot (maybe they have them?) However I do have a ups box where I get all my packages so I'll ask them about it tomorrow when I'm there.

Thermal labels are inexpensive. I get 1000 for $24 shipped direct from the company (Southwest Labels) on eBay - seriously, labels are a pretty darned small expenditure - nowhere near $3000-4000/yr unless you're running a huge shipping company.

For Mac Users: Bringing this subject up again because I just had a pop up ad on eBay for Brother printers (25% off with promo): www.brother-usa.com/PTouch/Label_Printer/print-ebay-shipping-labels.aspx#.Vt7PqYwrKXRThey are out of stock of the model I am interested in, QL-710W. The $99 model is not wireless. And $299 is more than I want to pay even with 25% discount=$224.25. What I like is it will print from an iphone using the eBay app (it is PC compatible only). This would be easy enough for me since I don't usually have more than about 3 or 4 labels to print at a time. The only question I have is whether it has to be set up with a PC before being able to use the app. as it kind of indicates on the video. I may call them later.

Yeah. It's just not worth it for me at that price still. My printer is wireless and I've never tried to print anything from my phone. I could learn if it were worth it though.

I ended up getting a Zebra zp 450. I got a used one on ebay for about $115. It was a nightmare getting it setup last night but it all seems to be working now. Love it! I really just didn't like the peel and stick labels I ordered. I mean they were a million times better than what I was doing but they seem a tad expensive. Also, I still just don't think they were sticky enough but maybe I got a bad batch. I went through the 200 way faster than I thought I would and just didn't want to buy more so I just went ahead and got the label printer instead. Also, I kept getting confused on how to reload the used ones into the printer and wasted quite a few. LOL I am a true blonde!

I can't find Southwest Labels, but here's an example of purchasing in bulk which I do - these people make their own labels, and I'll probably buy my next batch from them. High grade, made in the US labels is what you want: Zebra compatible labelsI probably don't have the traffic you do, but I do sell on four venues, and go through probably 5 rolls of labels a year. It costs me about $30 for the 1250 labels I will go through. The time I save not futzing with a printer (I only have a single tray printer, too) more than makes up for the small cost. So, buying in bulk is the way to go - you'll save yourself a lot of money.

Also, and this is KEY - clean the printhead after each roll, or at the very least every 2 rolls of media. It's really important maintenance to extend the life of your printer and keep your labels printing clearly. A dirty printhead will give you spotty, speckled print and eventually get ruined. It's very easy - I usually do it when I reload the next roll or every other roll - takes a few minutes. You can actually get the regular Zebra cleaning wands to do it, which I do. I get those on Amazon. They last me about a year or two (one pack). support.zebra.com/cpws/docs/xi2/xi2_phcl.htm
