I was listing on Tradesy and came across a listing for a man's shirt. I also found other listings for men's items.
I thought the site was for women's items only. When I click Create Listing, I don't get any options for men's categories.
Why would you take the time and effort to list a man's item on a site that is targeted to women? How do they get away with it? I just thought it was interesting.
I tried to post a link, but when I clicked on it, it wouldn't take me there and I got a warning (I use WOT).

Interesting. There are 1,963 mens ties listed.
FAQ however still says no mens.
I emailed them and asked.

It'll be interesting to hear their response.
I put in just men's and came up with 26,000 something listings.
Are you up and running with the ties?

Nah, it will calm down after Jan 31st. All the tax forms can be extended except payroll related forms. So the 4ht quarter returns (fed, multiple state), W2s and 1099s have to be out by 1/31. The rest of tax season is a piece of cake. You don't get us your stuff on time, or don't give us everything, you get extended.

The men's things are in the wedding section. There are things for the groom. I have a tux and a pair of ties on there. And I sold a pair of cufflinks.

A lot of the mens ties are in the accessories category as well.

Good grief, they're all over the place! Just saw a Fendi tie, in Suiting/Pantsuits/Fendi Pantsuits.
Tradesy needs to either police the site better or just bite the bullet and add a mens category.
No reply to my email yet.

Tradesy needs to monitor the site better or add in categories. They don't do either, they're going to have pissed off buyers when search gets cluttered up with all that unrelated crap.

Since the search is crap already, maybe they just don't care. When I first opened my business account, I was selling well. Now it's crickets, I can't remember when I had a sale. The import from Ebay was a disaster and when I try to edit, it doesn't stick so I just quit.

No reply yet from Tradesy (no surprise there). I did have this ad show up on one website I was on, note the mens stuff!

Interesting.
And I'm not surprised you haven't heard from them. I don't have a problem with men's stuff being listed as I like selling men's clothes. I have a problem with saying women's stuff only and then allowing men's to be listed. I know it's a business, but it goes to integrity.
I'm going to email them too. If they're going to allow men's, then they need to make changes and let people know.

Got a response from Tradesy.
Hi Pamela ,
Sorry for any confusion.
We've always allowed the listing of mens items as long as that information was noted for the sizing and in the description. As long as it's notated we'll accept it on our site.
Hope this info helps .
Thanks, Blair S. Team Tradesy
I copied this from their site. We also currently do not allow men's fashion or children's clothing to be sold on the site, and while we would love to expand into these areas in the near future, we don’t have a timeframe on when that might happen. We’ll be sure to let you know any updates of course!
You can't have it both ways. I think I'm going to have to call them on this one. (I don't mean on the phone, I mean bring it to their attention.)

No kidding. If they're going to allow mens stuff, then fix the listing categories.
And update the FAQ.

Here is Tradesy's response to my second email pointing out the contradiction in what rep said and what is stated on website.
Hi Pamela,
At this time, our marketplace primarily offers women’s fashion and wedding items. We would love to expand into men’s fashion in the near future, and while we currently don’t have a timeframe on when that might happen, we’ll be sure to let you know any updates. In the meantime,Although it is technically not allowed feel free to list your item, but be sure to notate that the item is for Men so as to minimize confusion on your buyers end.
If you need any further assistance, please feel free to reply to this email.
Thanks, Kyara P. Team Tradesy
Wow! So technically it's not allowed, but it is allowed.

Oh good grief. Don't they realize how screwed up that will make some searches? Ties will be Ok, they're in accessories for the most part and that's not really gender specific. And most will search by 'tie'.
And I thought ebay was cheap when it came to site programming suppprt. Oh boy.
They never did reply to my email.

I wonder why they didn't reply to you.
If they market their site for women's clothing, accessories and wedding stuff, I wouldn't even think to search for men's clothing there. So as a seller, it would seem to be a waste of time to list men's.
I wonder if there is a site for men's clothing only. I would be interested in that.
