At the thrift they do. The shopping network brands are especially chummy. Anytime I find a Maggie Sweet, I KNOW there will be at least one other piece somewhere in the store. Yesterday I found the entire 6 member volleyball team. Same with Denim & Co, Bob Mackey, and Susan Graver.
Unfortunately, other brands are a bit more snobby and prefer to travel alone. Like Eileen Fisher and Misook. *sigh*

Actually, whenever I find a Misook, I find more. Every single time. Plus, I often go back & check the same store in a few days & almost always I'll find at least 1 more on the 2nd trip. Just Misook for some reason, probably b/c it's so matchy/matchy.

Your store must be a nicer neighborhood than mine

I wish it happened every time that I went and found great brands.
I got 2 Ralph Lauren black label blazers at one store, right next to each other about a month ago. Both ended up selling to the same buyer too!

Your store is definitely in a better neighborhood that mine is.
If I find one Chicos Travelers, I can usually expect to find more.

I saw a bunch of tops in size 6X the other day, all were the brand Only Necessities. I wasn't sure if that brand did any good or not so I didn't pick them up. There were probably 8 of them.

Bob Mackie, for sure. I think I have found 5 or 6 at one time.

I found 2 pair of Tods driving loafers yesterday. Only bought one, because I thought 15.00 was too high. The cashier mentioned that a ton of nice shoes came in with that donation. I am going back today.

Alfred Dunner travels in packs too. Alfred Dunner travels in tour buses full of glorious polyester. It seems to be a staple here, I sometimes find a row that is about 50% Alfie.

We must somehow be shopping at the same Dunner outlet. Sometimes it seems like every 4th top/blouse that I look at is an Alfie. I ran into a covey of SAS sandals last week, Bought 5 pair in almost new condition and left 2 fairly worn pair behind. All the same size so the owner was really downsizing or the family was clearing out an estate. They had just hit the sales floor. The cashier commented on it being my lucky day.

I'd say that tops in 6x are so scarce that brand doesn't matter. If it's at all interesting it will sell. Have a look - it's all caftans and bad Stevie Nicks "custom" stuff. Looking at Only Necessities, though, I don't see much that I'd call "interesting" but I don't see much in that brand in tops at all, so maybe that means something. Catherines and Maggie Barnes stop at 5x, so 6x is always worth considering, IMO.

I am glad I went back. I got 2 pair of vintage logo Ferragamo, and a pair of vintage Gianni Versace. All appear to have been worn once.
They also had a stack of hanging manis - new for 2.50 each.

They sell, but they don't necessarily sell for big bucks.

Terri, they were a bit higher than my comfort zone, but I should do ok with them. I am a sucker for beautiful shoes.

I like it when someone has cleaned out their closet and you find a few pieces together, which then makes you realize what happened, and off you go to see what else that person donated. I've found some sizeable stashes that way.
Shirley, do your Dunners travel with cameras?

Nope, just with used kleenex and old cough drops in their pockets.

I find that Vikki Vi's are usually grouped together, probably the same person donated them. I once found about 7 of them, all plus size and all with tags removed. Thank goodness that the label read Vikki Vi Woman.

Today I saw about a dozen Picadilly (travel knit, like Citiknits or Chico's)... all in size S. Left them, but I do always see them together.

My last two shopping trips I found tons of DVF in an XS. All the older label but pieces were in pristine condition. I got some of it, left the "Silk Assets" collections behind. What was really odd is that in one store, I must have found 10 silk DVF suits, and not one of them had a price tag. I took one to the counter, told them, and asked them what the price would be. He took it to the back and brought it back marked $29.99. No thanks.
All that DVF made me think a little old lady must have passed.

It seems whenever I find a new brand to research, I end up finding another one in the store. When I first started shopping thrifts, that was to be expected since there were so many brands I wasn't familiar with, but it continues to happen, generally at least once each time I am shopping. Unfortunately it's usually not a brand that sells well.

This thread reminds me of the time I found about 10 TB embroidered back silk camp shirts all together. Prices were between $5 and $7 each. I nearly had a heart attack. I think they sold for between $50 and $90 a piece. You know, back in the day when they still did really good no matter what.

I think every Vikki Vi I've ever found had the size tags removed. Either their tags are really annoying or those buyers reeeaally don't want anyone to know what size they wear... And knew I couldn't be the only one to go on the hunt for others when I find something good.

You do know that VV size tags are on the side seam, near the bottom, right? They're not at the neck. Just making sure

Yes, lol. They still are all gone - don't know what it is! I also seem to find a lot of EF (or what I suspect is EF) with the tags removed.

Ok cool, that is odd LOL. But maybe they are donated by the same person. I just wanted to make sure you weren't looking only at the neck. I found a 3pc VV NWT today, first time I've ever found NWT, but it had a spot & was priced too high :-(

Now, on the odd chance I find Eileen Fisher pants, I usually find 3-5 together.
And my favorite thrift does NOT upmark them and always puts them in plus sizes!

The EF I find is almost always damaged in some way. Hmmmm, come to think of it so is the VV. Since they are not brands I've ever purchased new - I've always wondered whether the quality is bad or do people just wear them to death? Maybe they are coming from the same person/people, lol.
