Its cool that she is actually tolerating and perhaps even liking that little angel.

I agree Val! Kritter you are so lucky! I wouldn't be able to do anything bit sit and look and those adorable faces all day!
Way to go Sabrina! She finally met a pal. Either that or she's on to the "keep your enemies closer" thing.

Skittles likes older women and Sabrina is smitten. It will be interesting to see how she reacts to new batches of kittens that make a pit stop.

Well, the next batch is sitting in a cage in my den so it won't be long.
If Skittles makes his weight, he will leave next Tuesday with KitKat and Snickers. He seems to be stuck at 1.12 pounds the same as Candy.
Sabrina really was feeling her oats last night. She was running around playing with a catnip mouse and then charging up on one of the kittens and scaring them before she turned and ran away.
It was a Sabrina that I have not seen before. She is either down on the floor with them or on one of the cat trees almost all the time now. Only retreats to her tote tower when she wants some serious sleeping.

Sometimes it takes the right friend to drag us out of our shell. Who'd have guessed it would be a pile of kittens that made the breakthrough with Sabrina? I'm so happy for her and bet she'll be a happier kitty now that she off her tower and frolicking.

I think it was Skittles more than any of the others. He was just not going to take "no" for an answer.
It will be interesting to see how she is with the Thanksgiving kittens.

That's great news about Sabrina. Even though she's 12 she should be more active than she has been. Maybe in her old life she was just ignored all the time? Some people do start to ignore cats when they grow up a bit, thinking they just want to eat and sleep. So maybe Sabrina's not a diva, she's just a bit rusty in social matters.

Petti, Sabrina lived with her sister, Savannah, who was the favorite with the couple that adopted them when they were kittens. Sabrina just existed in the background while Savannah slept in bed with them.
I think she is just used to being alone and has accepted it. It took her a long time to hang with me when I read at night.
She met her match in Skittles. He doesn't take no for an answer. Whoever adopts him is going to get an amazing kitten.

No more kitty visits at Petco, I think one "picked" me tonight and he looked so sad when I turned around and left. They were all sleeping when I approached, I should have just turned around and left

Call the adoption agency tomorrow and adopt the kitty, bliss. Cats are a lot less work than BFs and a heck of a lot more fun and affectionate. Even the standoffish ones like Sabrina beat a jerk guy any day.

I'm not ready yet I've got some trips planned. Including a 9 day trip to Belize in January. There's no one that I can trust to look after any pets. It's really nice to travel footloose and fancy free with no worries but the darn cats tug at my heart strings more each time I stop in. Theres not much of a turn over right now either. There's the 2 white Siamese brothers and they have another group or 4 or 5 6 month old brothers that all look alike, it's one of them that took a liking. Then there's a black one with a white mark on its chin. Looks like he has a white tounge sticking out. They're all so cute and friendly. I hope they find homes soon.

Kritter, that's so sad about Sabrina. They must have REALLY ignored her to make her this way. I think it's weird, both people liking the same cat. Sabrina's so beautiful, too.

Um, bliss? You can get a petsitter for your trip. And best part, with a cat, they don't have to come every day unless the cat eats only wet food, or you have other reasons you need them there that often. I used to have them come once every other or every 3rd day when my cat was younger and 100% dry food. Now he's older on wet food, so I have them come more often. If you're only gone a couple of days, you don't even need that - you can leave them with lots of food and water. My cat used to be good for the random 3-day weekend trip.

I know that's a great option but not so much for me. Not one person has a key to my house but me, I have trust issues. Those I would trust to do the job I'm usually with when I travel or they're people that I don't want to inconvenience. Then I'd be always worried that the people (pet sitters) would be coming like they're supposed to and then I'd feel guilty for leaving my furbaby. Then there's the house alarm that someone would have to mess with. Ugh, maybe one day. I wish I lived next to one of you CCL's so I could come over and get my kitty fixes

When you live next to a CCL you don't just come over and get a kitty fix, when you leave you take home a kitty (or 3). We have a whole system for spreading the CCL addiction.

What Shirley said. I would cat sit for you but no visiting for kitty fixes.
My cats could stay by themselves for a couple of days if the litter boxes didn't need emptying. Linda comes twice a day for that chore.

Use a pet sitter service that is bonded and licensed. Trust issue solved. Or board the kitty at a kitty hotel or the vet. Face it, bliss. You won't get kitty fixes or sympathy from us One cat, litter box can go a day or two Two or more cats, things change.

If you put down more than one litter box for one cat, that even extends the time.
No sympathy here at all. I would be in travel heaven if I only had one cat.

y'all are hard core cat people Ya think? Travel is the main reason I didn't get another dog. I'd love to have another one (along with the cat of course) but they're a lot of trouble if you travel. A cat? pffttt. Easy peasy.

I thought a dog might be a little easier. They travel better than cats and it would be easier for me to take a dog to my dads then it would be for them to come to my house every other day or whatever.

The worst thing about leaving cats is missing them. I once found myself in a gift shop stroking a sheepskin rug and thinking wistfully about my cats. And I'd only been gone about a day, lol.

They travel better than cats and it would be easier for me to take a dog to my dads then it would be for them to come to my house every other day or whatever. Why couldn't you take a cat to your dad's house while you are gone? All cats need is a bowl for food and water and a litter box. No need to take cats outside for bathroom breaks or worry that if you are gone too long, they will pee on your carpet. They could ever keep a spare cat box, litter, and bowls in the garage for when your cat comes over and then move them into the house. One cat does not do a lot of business in a litter box. No pets are easy. They all take time and commitment.

I don't know much about cats. I just figured a new environment would be traumatic for them. I know it can be for dogs too. It just depends. My dad has 2 dogs so my potential cat would have to be cool with that and same goes for the dogs. I'm not sure their dogs have ever been around cats.

I was at a resale shop today. The owner takes her cat with her to work. She said he was part Siamese and part Maine coon. He was a pretty cool cat, his name was mayhem and he did some tricks for me. A very spoiled cat

Oh how cool, mayhem! I love that name for a cat!
I've taken my cat traveling with me. He does pretty well. He'll ride in the carrier for short distances but prefers to curl up in the back foot area on the passenger side for longer trips. He's good in a hotel too. He tends to hide under the bed until everyone gets settled and the doors along the hall stop slammimg. Then he wanders out, looks around, eats, watches tv with me. Same thing he does at home.
