My ex threw this set into the trash when cleaning out his mom's house. Can't find it anywhere...not on google or Amazon...no idea how to price it. A set of four 78RPM records complete with cards.
Guess this is called "RARE"

Thanks Bets...good starting point. Since these are for teaching, I will have to research that area. Stuff like this makes me nervous, and I tend to put off listing for a long time...

I have not sold 78's on Ebay, but just a note & please don't be offended if you already know this. 78's are not at all rare on the site & most of them go unsold. Some of course, are valuable, but don't get in the trap of thinking that just b/c it's a 78, it's valuable. What is the condition of the record itself? That's going to be key in whether to even bother selling. Also, of course what it is. There are many record price guides out there, I just don't know if any deal with 78's. I would probably just start by googling & actually going to the library, as many price guides are in print & there's no incentive for them to publish online cuz they want you to buy a new guide every year or so.
I don't want to be a downer, just don't want you to think that they're rare just b/c they are 78s. They may well be rare, but not for that reason. I find 78s often at the thrifts & I leave them. I know music, but I don't know those old records & that old music.

Darn, can't post the records. Anywho, it is a set of 4 records in excellent condition. MIL bought it for exhole, I guess. And considering the fact that he was a poor reader, I can't vouch for how good the records teach....

Thanks Ahrn. These are 78's. At the top of the page which I have in pic #2 says...Note: these records can be played only on standard speed, 78 rpm phonographs. I did see that seller's listings, but his are different and 45's. So I have no way to compare anything.
Guess I could go for $200, but would love to see it listed somewhere else just to know what the heck I have here.

I did a little searching too & am not coming up with anything you guys haven't found. This is the type of thing I may put up at 29.99 on auction & see how many views you get.

Thanks zoe. It is the kind of thing that since it is rare, I don't want to underprice it!

I'd auction those. I used to sell a lot of old books and you would be surprised at what does well. Oftentimes it doesn't have to be the exact edition/format for already listed prices to be a good guide. I had an second edition of outdoor religious debates published in about 1853, obscure book but there were some copies listed for $400 or $450 on sites that I knew were wildly optimistic. I started mine at $19.99 and it went to $120 - the edition didn't matter.
Also, the number of 78s in really excellent condition is nowhere near as high as the number of 78s that exist overall.
