I love The Profit!
But whenever I ask somebody whether they watch it, they always think I'm talking about a religious program -- like it's The Prophet -- so I always end up having to spell it for them!

I was watching an episode of Tiny House Hunting set in Philadelphia and was shaking my head the entire time. Firstly, the program claimed that South Philadelphia was the stomping grounds of Sylvester Stallone. No true at all, he's from NYC. Rocky was from the area. Then they showed a small house in South Philadelphia and the price was astonishing. It was a handy man's special with one bedroom covered in cheap Masonite paneling. The price was $225,000. Holy canoli! The buyer chose that house and paid $212,000. After seeing that I'm thinking I should put my house on the market for $300,000. Jeez.

You know what they say....location....... location......... location!!! Man, I miss those Philly cheese steaks.

I'm close, about three blocks, to Pat's, Geno's and the Italian Market. And I never eat their food. Those places are for tourists. A better cheesesteak can be found at almost any corner sandwich or pizza place.
Anyway...she also viewed a loft in Fishtown and a trinity in Queens Village. I was trying to figure out the location since they didn't show any street signs. It looked like the house could have been in Pennsport or further south, especially since the buyer was complaining that there weren't many restaurants/bars in the area.

You are completely correct. Tourists only. We lived in Feasterville, just north of northest Philly, and we got our cheese steaks from Nins'a. Oh.....joy in your mouth!

I do Val. It's a pretty fun show. They do a good job with the characters and you get invested in them and what happens to them.
I was pleasantly surprised by Katharine McPhees acting, she does a good job. And I love the little boy that plays her son.

I like the quirks of all the characters. Season 2 is just as good as season 1.

Is anyone watching Downton Abbey? ***Spoiler Alert*** if you haven't watched the latest episode from Sunday 2/21.
I KNEW Mary was going to tell Edith's fiance about Marigold. I KNEW it from the second she found out about Edith's proposal. But when it happened I was still surprised she really could be that much of a b*tch. How gratifying to have Edith finally call her out on it. My niece and I are so involved in this show we were cheering her on.
I'm going to hate to see this series end.

More ****SPOILERS****
It was a wonderful episode. Didn't surprise me at all that Mary spilled the beans and I was glad she got called out on it.
I did love the wedding though and how they have finally made up as much as they can with the personalities they have.

Elly, I was so happy that Edith finally found love. As for Mary, I wanted to slap the snot out of her when she did that. I'm glad both Edith and Tom called her on it. Love Tom, what a hottie.
I am feeling sorry for Barrow. He's trying, his character became more approachable these last two seasons. I hope he finds contentment.
Like you, I'll miss this show. It still had stories to tell unlike many series (The Good Wife in particular).

My niece and I talked about buying the DVD for season 6 up until about the third episode, but neither of us ever did it. I think we both enjoy the anticipation of each episode too much to have binge watched it. We make a bit of a production of Sunday nights. We make a special dessert, have our showers taken and PJs on by 9, then we take over the family room. No men allowed. Some weeks that's the only time we spend together other than passing one another coming or going.
I'm still hoping for a happy ending for Edith.

I thought the finale was being shown on Sun March 6th?
Tomorrow night what shows as scheduled is a rerun of last week plus a 1 hr special on the Manners of Downton Abbey.

Oh me too. They move things around, have them listed at the wrong times and just in general drive me nuts cause I miss a lot of things I want to watch. I am really going to miss Downton Abbey.

Titus I double checked and it will be on the 6th.
They didn't want to do it tonight because the Academy Awards are on.

No Academy Awards for me. I wonder what's on TCM.
I saw a pretty good movie last night. Kingsman, The Secret Service. Starred Colin Firth & Michael Caine. It was a bit violent but the story was good. And, of course, lots of eye candy.

Thanks for the review on Kingsman, my neighbor gave it to me to watch and I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I always like eye candy. My PBS station has had a marathon of this seasons Downton Abbey so I have been watching in between chores and it's so great to see all the episodes again.

Does anyone watch Hawaii Five O? Did you catch the "better call Saul" line on the last episode? It was particularly funny because Better Call Saul is on another network entirely!

Shirley, Kingsman is great. Best film I've seen in years. You're welcome to come back here and say, "The church scene, OMG, the church scene!" lol.
Downton Abbey - Mary is the oldest sister? I thought she was married to the heir and they couldn't have kids.
Titus and Shirley, have you seen The House of Elliott? It might be something you'd like.

Missp, Mary is the eldest daughter of the Earl of Grantham. Because a woman couldn't inherit the heir was a distant cousin. She and he finally fell in love, married and had a son. He then died in a car crash (really he wanted out of the show so they killed him off).
I saw the House of Elliott many years ago on PBS. I still have a soft spot for Jack.

Yeah, I never believed that Mary really fell in love with the heir. It was too convenient a thing to happen to such a conniving female. I think that might have been the last episode I saw. What happened to the original earl and his American wife? Did the valet ever get out of gaol? Did the nasty housekeeper and the nasty footman ever get their comeuppance?
I currently have a yen for Foyle from Foyle's War, lol. Not for the actor, but for the actual character of Foyle. Poor sad man.

Ooo, I like Foyle's War too and it's still aired on one of the PBS stations along with another favorite, Midsommer Murders. BTW, the hot suitor to Lady Mary plays Foyle's son. Be still my heart.

Since I can't get tv anymore, I'm buying the Foyle dvds, lol. Also Lewis. But I'm not in love with Kevin Whately.

I saw a pretty good movie last night. Kingsman, The Secret Service. Starred Colin Firth & Michael Caine. It was a bit violent but the story was good. And, of course, lots of eye candy. Colin Firth is my only celebrity crush. But only since 1995. I have a thing for Mr Darcy, and once he played Mr Darcy, I had a thing for Colin Firth too. Bridget Jones's Diary sealed the deal.
