I've been watching the new Judge Judy show on Amazon. It's called Judy Justice. It has her grand daughter and a stenographer along with a new baliff. Same format as her old show other than that. I watched a few episodes but was not impressed. I liked her last show, even tho I thought she was a bit unfair at times. I think her granddaughter has absolutely no clue what to do and seems very uncomfortable at times.

Castle is a great show. Unfortunately, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic didn't get along at all. They even had to go to couple counseling and they did not speak to each other when they weren't acting. They actually fired Stana before season 9 and the backlash was so bad that they ended up cancelling the show after season 8 instead of going on without her. I am also currently watching it on Hulu, but I saw it when it originally aired. My current favorite show is the Rookie, which also stars Nathan Fillion. I'm a big fan of the Mentalist too. I've watched it from beginning to end several times. I'm inclined to think the problem was with Stana, given that most of the regular headliner actors on Castle have popped up on The Rookie. I did watch the first episode of The Rookie, made it about 20 minutes into the show and turned it off. I liked the 3 rookies but their TO's are total AH's. However, I've decided to give it another try and follow my 2 episode rule before giving up on it. Sometimes it takes a while to develop the characters. Speaking of taking a while for character development - NCIS Hawaii and CSI Las Vegas was that way this past season (first season for both). I ended up really liking NCIS Hawaii. Verdict is still out on CSI Las Vegas. Grissom and Sarah are back, that's good, and Maxine (the head of the lab) are all good, but the other characters are boring and the whole pace of the show is slow. CBS is giving it a second season so I hope they'll bring in some new characters/actors with some chemistry (while keeping Grissom, Sarah and Maxine) and some new directors.

If anyone gets the History Channel, I highly recommend the different series they've been showing. They're interesting and educational:
The Men Who Built America The Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen The Food That Built America The Toys That Built America The Titans That Built America The Cars That Built America

I stumbled across 911 Lone Star last night. It's about a fire station in Austin. The inital plot line appears to be based on fire squads in NYC after 9-11 and the wildcat fire team from AZ where they all died but one, and how the fire departments had to rebuild from the ground up. Rob Lowe plays the lead role, which is why I decided to check out the show. The characters are interesting, but the show's portrayal of Austin is so far off the mark it's not even funny, it's insulting. They keep showing vegetation more in line with Amarillo or El Paso, not green Austin in the Hill Country. The opening episode showed a "Welcome to Texas" highway sign...that's on I-10 between NM and TX state line near El Paso The Rob Lowe character and his son were driving to Austin from NYC. They would have crossed the state line in green areas of the state, either I-20 from Shreveport or I-10 into Houston. It's filmed in LA and for once, you can tell it's filmed in LA (which normally you can't - can you tell NCIS, CSI NY and CSI Miami were filmed in LA?). Apparently CBS pays a bit more attention to getting the feel and look of a show's home city right, Fox doesn't seem to care. The show is on Fox. You can get the first 2 seasons on Hulu, and Season 3 has started on Hulu. Season 4 is only on Fox for now. Technical complaints aside, the characters are varied and I think will be very interesting in the long run. The story lines for the first two shows were pretty good too, especially the scene with the apartment gas leak.

I've watched it from the beginning and it's pretty good. I like the original 9-1-1 better (except for Buck), but Lonestar is pretty good.

As long as you realize the "Austin" part of that show is waaaaaaaaay off base LOL. The show has some humor in it too.

I'll be honest...I knew they were in TX (obviously) but if you had asked which part, I doubt I could have told you Plus, the closest I've been to TX is the Hoover Dam, so they could have filmed it in Oklahoma and I wouldn't have known the difference (sorry!!).

For all you Star Trek fans, Paramount's new series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is set to premier on May 5. It's already been renewed for a season 2. It's an offshoot of Star Trek Discovery, and it showcases Captain Pike (Anson Mount, really yummy eye candy), Science Officer Spock (Ethan Peck, Gregory Peck's grandson and spitting image), and Rebecca Romijn (from Star Trek Discovery) as Number One. It's a prequel to the original Star Trek, starting about 10 years before Captain Kirk took over the Enterprise. The chemistry between these three was really good on Discovery, so this new show should be good. IMO anyway.

It's to the point that the show is funny whenever the disaster is "weather" related I LMOA during the haboob episode. Since there are fault lines running under Texas, I'm waiting for 911 Lone Star to have an earthquake episode Oh, and let's not forget a locust episode! Maybe even a mudslide or landslide LOL!

Me too Kritter. I got hooked on that Italian show and then after that, Succession - watched the three seasons, 9 episodes each, just finished it all. It's a current HBO series and they are signed up for season 4, so I have to wait to see what happens on Season 4.
Then I started on The Seaside Hotel on PBS. They speak Danish language, so I have to read the subtitles. Wasting my life away here.

I love it. So many options. I got hooked on City Confidential last night. Not trash exactly. Stories of crimes being solved. My total for the month including tax is $30. No contracts. So much better than the $80 ripoff DirecTV. I am not a loyal program watcher. It is a whole new world every ngiht.

Wikipedia said the original series ended in 2005, and they brought it back last year. I may have to watch it.

I'm watching Cinderella - The Heart of a Dreamer on Tubi. Not a cartoon but real-life people. The girl, Aurora, grows from a young girl into a beautiful young woman, plays the piano beautifully and the stepmother and stepsisters are wicked as can be, the father dies and they are all totally out of control. Stealing her inheritance and all that. Only 2 episodes, so an easy one to watch. The piano-playing is what pulled me in. And a long-lost unknown grandmother shows up to save her along with her next door neighbor "prince".
I actually watched the entire 3 seasons, 9 episodes in each season of "Succession" all over again after I finished watching all of it a few weeks ago. Pure trash, money and greed, but I get too involved with characters.
I finally got my Spectrum TV/internet/landline phone pkg reduced to less than half of what we were paying, $255 to $117 per month for all three services, got rid of the cable boxes, and have 1000x as much stuff to watch as I did before. Those prices are including all taxes. All the cable boxes we previously had connected here were adding over 50.00 plus tax on our old bill just for the cable boxes themselves. I don't understand why people still have cable boxes and why no one tells them about how they are getting ripped off. I found out the hard way, did so much research on it that I couldn't understand at first. There is just so much out there to choose from, but our internet provider had the best deal when packaged with TV and landline.

The boxes are worth having because of the DVR feature. Everything you want to watch just records automatically and is stacked up waiting until you're ready to watch it. Seriously, what could be better than that?

I heard that there is a return of Dexter, I'll have to see it to believe it. Speaking of trash TV, has anyone watched Marrying Millions? Love that one.
I miss having a DVR so much but in a way it's good that we don't have one. I wouldn't be nearly as productive everyday. If I'm ever alone again though, that'll be the first thing I get.

LOL! That's still more than what I'm willing to pay. All my streaming subscriptions only add up to $49, and if I add Amazon Prime (includes video) it's still only $63. Taxes included. Plus I can cancel a subscription if I'm not watching anything on that sub, and restart it when they get new shows or the new seasons start. MUCH cheaper than cable IMO.

Val - my TV Choice with all our local channels, the three cable news channels, and all the special streaming channels that they let me choose in the package is 34.99, no cable boxes. The internet service for high-speed internet is 49.99, and our landline phone is 12.99. Broadcast charges are 12.95 and local taxes 6.69 for a total of 117.61
We can't get by without a landline phone. When you say all your streaming channels add up to 49.00, is that including your charge for internet service?

That is a great price for those 3 services. My Philo is $30, my land line with taxes is around $40.00 and my internet with taxes is also around $40.
I could get a better deal on Spectrum for the phone and internet but around here I think they have outtage issues so for now I am sticking with AT&T.

Samuel Waterston (McCoy) looks damn good for 81.
Can't wait for it to start, there will be lots of opportunities for cross-over episodes the the other L&Os too.

Found a show on Netflix that is like American Pickers. It's called Swap Shop. Basically, a bunch of people who run shops (curio, thrift, collectors, etc shops) listen to a radio show called Swap Shop, where people who have stuff to sell call in. They go out to wherever the sale is and find stuff to buy. Interesting show, but nothing too much more than other shows of that type. It made for good background noise
