if you like cop shows and scary killer shows, Whitechapel is good. Dark, but good. It's on both Hulu and Netflix. UK show, ran for 4 seasons. Season 1-2 has 4 episodes, seasons 3-4 have 6 episodes. The murders the cops have to solve have eerie similarities to historical murders, so the cops look to history to solve the current day crimes. I watched all 4 seasons of Whitechapel on BBC America. I couldn't find it at all on Netflix. The first 2 seasons are available for free on Prime. The 3rd & 4th seasons are on Prime but not free.
Netflix has Ripper Street available. It's based on the time after Jack The Ripper in the same neighborhood.

I just came across this organically & it intrigued me, so I did a bit of digging & found that it has an interesting backstory. Old calypso favorite but originally written for a political upheaval in Trinidad & Tobago. It's been co-opted for our election & is being sung by the incomparable David Johansen (which some of you may know as 'Buster Poindexter' lol). The cheesy video is pure camp, so New York Dolls & I guess pays homage to the original video from the original artist. I just love the catchy song & the message. But most of all I love seeing Johansen active again & OMG does he look like Steven Tyler, in his older age. Warning, val2525 This def has a political POV, as did the original, it is about voting, but it's pretty clear why the ship is sinking, so if you feel it's inappropriate, please delete. Here's both videos & Rolling Stone article: www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/david-johansen-sinking-ship-video-1056780/original song/video

New show on Netflix, Bridgerton. Eight episodes and highly addictive. It's based on a series of Regency romances by Julia Quinn and produced by Shona Rhimes (Grey's Anatomy). Be warned - the last 3 episodes or so have some serious sex scenes if that bothers anyone. They're tastefully done however. The period sets and costumes are awesome.

We stopped watching Shameless a few seasons ago and recently picked it back up. We're on season 9. Really enjoying it.

Virgin River... finished last episode of the last season last night. Loved it. Saw some talk about season 3 in production on line. Hope it's true.

My mom's been watching it, so I've caught a few episodes. Looks good. And yes, Season 3 is actually done filming and due to release by the end of the year.

Love everything about it including the set. We googled, filming was in Canada not the pacific northwest

Love everything about it including the set. We googled, filming was in Canada not the pacific southwest. Most things are filmed in Canada these days, specifically Vancouver, BC. They have very favorable taxes for the entertainment industry. We get a lot of things filmed in Portland, OR too. And we also have shows based in Portland, that aren't filmed here LOL

For anyone who likes forensic type shows like CSI and NCIS - catch Silent Witness on BBC (BritBox). There are 21 seasons and still filming, although a season on Brit TV is only 4-8 episodes.

Season 2 of Why Women Kill is coming to CBS/Paramount on June 6. The trailer looks really good. If you didn't catch it last year, it's worth watching. Very unusual and interesting storyline.

For a few years I'd been wanting to watch Wayward Pines but didn't have whatever service is was streaming on. Finally saw it available on Hulu. It's pretty good.

If you're a fan of Pike and Spock on Star Trek Discovery, good news! www.techradar.com/news/star-trek-strange-new-worlds-release-date-cast-and-what-we-knowPicking up after the events Star Trek: Discovery season 2, the new series will follow the missions of Captain Christopher Pike, Lt Spock and Number One on board the USS Enterprise – a decade or so before Kirk takes the helm.
Having been held up by coronavirus delays, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds belatedly went into production in Toronto in March 2021. Toronto's website states that the project 'Star Trek' is currently in production there, and will run for 10 episodes.
Paramount Plus is yet to confirm a launch date, but seeing as Trek shows are traditionally effects-heavy and require a long time in post-production, we don't expect to the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds release date to arrive before 2022.

Wait-what?? I thought Bosch was over and done cause it seemed like all the plots were wrapped up. A spinoff works just fine, lol. I can't read that article cause I don't want any spoilers- did they say when to expect this? I see that the Witcher is scheduled to premiere in mid December- excited for that!

Have you read the books? They are my second favorite series of books. Right behind...the Jack Reacher series which is also coming to Amazon Prime and is casting someone who is not a foot shorter and 100lbs lighter than Jack Reacher Reacher is like 6'3" and 240 or so lbs...Tom Cruise just doesn't measure up enough to be Reacher. A lot of us die hard fans were absolutely PISSED when they cast him in the movies.

The spinoff will follow the books too, but the later ones (obviously, because those are when Harry is a PI). No firm date, it's expected to start airing sometime next year. You can read the article - there aren't any spoilers since you already know Season 7 was the final season for Bosch. The later books feature Harry's half brother, Mickey, who's a lawyer and he's expected to show up in the new series. They made a movie out of the first Mickey Haller book, The Lincoln Lawyer starring Matthew McConaughey (he did a good job, IMO). I'd love to see another spin-off series with Mickey. He's a totally different personality than Harry and Mickey's stories just scream "TV! TV!". IMO

The actor playing Reacher in the series, Alan Ritchson, is 6'3" and about 200 lbs, so that won't be too bad. I agree - Tom Cruise was just too short and lightweight. But then, I'm not a Tom Cruise fan so there is that

I watched "Best in Bridal" on Amazon Prime. LMAO! It's about two wedding shop owners with wildly different styles who compete against each other for sales. The stores are across the street from each other and they try to outsell and outmarket each other. There only appears to be one season though.

We got sucked into Marrying Millions a while back and recently noticed a new season. I don't believe most of it is actually real but we really like watching it anyway.

Finished the last season of You and now we're well into Maid. Didn't realize that Maid was based on a True Story until last night.

For those of you who like to watch fluffy Hallmark-type Christmas movies, check out A Christmas Proposal on CBS. It stars Adam Rodriguez (CSI Miami, Criminal Minds, Magic Mike) and Jessica Camacho (All Rise, Taken) as the two leads. It's cute and pretty entertaining. Be sure you have the 2021 movie, there's another one by the same name from 2008 but different stars and a different plot.
An even better one is Holiday In The Wild with Kristin Davis (Sex in the City) and Rob Lowe (West Wing). I've watched this one twice...I may have to watch it again LOL. It's on Netflix, came out in 2019.

Spectrum tried really hard to get me to add cable when I switched my internet and cell phone to them, but it was too expensive and I had no control over which networks I was paying for. Everything I watch I can get from my streaming subscriptions (Netflix, Prime, BritBox, Acorn, Paramount+) and all of those combined are cheaper than Spectrum's lowest cable plan. Then I found out I would still have to keep the streaming subscriptions, so why pay for cable when I won't ever watch it? I watched Princess Switch 3 this past weekend. Yeah, I admit, I loved Princess Switch 1 and 2 so of course I had to watch 3.

I'm binge watching Castle on Hulu. It reminds me of The Mentalist, only Castle is much more amusing than Simon was (he didn't get a sense of humor until several seasons into the show). I especially like the scenes with Castle at home with his daughter and mom. Good show if you didn't catch it when it first came out.

I use an antena to get the basic channels so I can watch live news & shows. It's free after the initial cost of an antena from Amazon, under $30. I have Disney+, Prime, and Netflix and rotate Paramount+, Discovery+ & Peacock every few months depending on when I'm ready to move on to something different. I like PBS also and may put that in the rotation next. It works for us and is still cheaper than cable.

We have all of those too 57roses plus the newest addition HBOmax we get free with our Cricket phone service. We were both pretty excited about that. I'd still rather have Directv though, I greatly miss being able to record things and pause/rewind live tv.
The other night we watched Unforgivable with Sandra Bullock on Netflix. It was good but the ending was a little disappointing.

Unfortunately, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic didn't get along at all. They even had to go to couple counseling and they did not speak to each other when they weren't acting. They actually fired Stana before season 9 and the backlash was so bad that they ended up cancelling the show after season 8 instead of going on without her. I am also currently watching it on Hulu, but I saw it when it originally aired. My current favorite show is the Rookie, which also stars Nathan Fillion. I'm a big fan of the Mentalist too. I've watched it from beginning to end several times.

I've been watching the new Judge Judy show on Amazon. It's called Judy Justice. It has her grand daughter and a stenographer along with a new baliff. Same format as her old show other than that.
