Aggie still objects to the kitten, but has given up growling and hissing at him. She just avoids him, and will smack him if he touches her. We are still minimizing contact until we get the kitten tested for viral diseases.
Kitten of course is just more motivated to PLAY WITH THE BIG KITTY.
Thanks for the Aggie compliments! She is a beautiful cat, very regal, always crosses her paws. Her attitude completely matches that photo, which she voluntarily posed for during an inventory photo session. She has the thickest, most luxurious fur of any cat I've ever petted. She's miserable in the heat, though.

Aggie is a typical calico. She thinks that she is "all that" and she really is.

Any developments with Aggie and the kitten? Is Aggie back in the garage or still standing on your head at night? lol.

This photo best depicts Aggie's opinion of the kitten: It's a little hard to see because it's dark (dang window), but Aggie is yawning hugely while the kitten prepares to try to leap on the piano. She will come out now, and igonors the kitten unless he tries to touch her. I found them lying *near* each other under the bed today. There is hope... Kitten's name is Phyos. It's a play on FIOS, which is Verizon's fiber optic internet, which we can't get here because we are 50' too far from the switching station (not kidding), so he is our Phyos.

Good to hear Aggie is less distressed. Just keep the love going and she'll be ok.
That jungle kitty photo is excellent, one to treasure!

Hello we are in the same place at our house. We have a new kitten names Churchill who had the same problems. He did not have loose stool but the gass he had could clear a room. The SPCA had sent him home with science diet too. I switch him to a higher protein lower and better carb food and it cleared up pretty quick. Had to go get it at the pet store. It is called Simply Nourish, chicken and rice. As far as him getting along with the other cats he would do so much better with them if he would stop stalking them. Two of them are for the most part outside cats. When he really bothers them they swat and leave. The older cat who had her own kittens at one time is very good about watching him and teaching him some manners. But again she can leave when he bothers her too much. My other inside cat is very upset and very jealous. She spent the first two weeks hiding in my room and the garage. If he gets near her she swats and hisses. BUT 2 nights ago she came into the living room where I was playing laser tag with the kitten and watched him. Tried to get her to play but I think she thought it would be undignified. So at least they occupied the same room and there was no blood shed.

Churchill has such curly whiskers and eyebrows! I love his eyebrows and can not wait to see what his full grown out whiskers look like. I think they trimmed them at the SPCA before they put them up for adoption. They were so short, maybe 1/2 inch long. Now they are growing. He is feeling kinda yucky today. He had his last distemper booster and first leukemia shot yesterday. He is still sleeping and he is usually up up up in the mornings.

Usually short whiskers are a sign that the kitten has had some health issues which would be common in a kitten with a less desirable past life. Once they get regular food and are wormed the whiskers will grow again.
It is doubtful that they were cut on purpose as whiskers are a vital part of a cat's navigation system. There would be no reason for a shelter etc. to cut whiskers.
He is definitely a cutie.

Sleeping in the same space is a huge step! Took my cat 8 months to share a couch with the dog but it happened. The photo Phyos in the plant brings back memories of my kitty as a kitten. We had a big shaggy fake plant in the entry of the apartment we were living in at the time. He would run full speed down the hall in dive in it again and again. Churchill is adorable. It's tough being the new guy for sure.
