Thanks to that stupid (but very handy and easy to use) pineapple corer/slicer, I can now add fresh pinapple to my fruit addiction list (along with red seedless grapes) Have to admit, though - the fresh whole pineapple is usually a lot cheaper than the already sliced or cut up fresh pineapple. I suppose there are worse addictions I could have BTW, if you like red grapes, you'll like Candy Heart grapes (aka red cotton candy grapes). They're pretty good. Sweet like the cotton candy grapes, but with with a little more flavor, closer to a red grape. I also discovered Siete makes strawberry & cream gluten free/dairy free cookies. Their Mexican wedding cookies are awesome and I'm betting the strawberry & cream will be similar. Can you tell I'm working on my grocery delivery list? Sunny and low 80s here today. The weekend is supposed to be low 80s but cloudy and breezy. The breeze should help with the humidity though.

I got the pantry cleaned out and bagged up the food going to GW. They have a bin inside the stores for food donations, and the donations go to the Food Bank. Works for me. Next up, cleaning out the freezer.

We have food donation boxes here and there in my city. And different companies sometimes contribute a lot of food to them.
I was hoping that my chemo would go better today since I didn't make it last week because of my dead car battery. I was okay during the chemo while I did stuff to stay warm so I wouldn't have the shivering.
But when I got home, I was all shivery and achy from head to toe. Tried to sleep, but that took hours before I could. My nurses keep suggesting that I have run my course with this chemo, which I really don't want to hear. But I shall persist....

jesmelric - I had to laugh about Coco stealing the chicken breast, but the fridge in the living room for a year - yipes! Still, you probably saved a good chunk of money being handy.
Finished the laundry room - I'm so rusty painting that it took me a while to get the knack again. I wasn't totally happy with the job I did on it but the DH was thrilled. I got paint on the ceiling during the clumsy warmup to finally getting the hang of it again so I'll probably need to paint that some time, but that can be done later on. The kitchen/dining room area is pretty big and I have to get that done by Tuesday. I drug up this ancient can of eggshell white out of the basement and OMG, getting the lid off was the 13th labor of Hercules. I used a pry bar and pliers and the lid actually began to disintegrate. I finally got it off, but afterwards had to download the rest of the paint into a huge can of eggshell white we also had left over from our previous home reno.
I noticed I was having a lot of trouble with my hands - they're fine with weights, pushing and pulling - I can carry 70 lb without any problems, but manipulating anything small is tough, like a paintbrush. I guess I need to do exercises for them - I used to get lots of small muscle strength training for my hands riding a bike, but I don't ride much anymore so I think I just need to ride more.
Anyway, I started spackeling - repaired a couple of holes in the laundry room drywall, then started on the kitchen. I'll sand the repaired holes in the laundry room and lay a bit of paint over them to complete the job - I wanted to do the spackeling all at once and not stop and start. There's another hole in the kitchen - old dry wall - eh.

Thanks Labby. I am okay today. Every chemo day is different and I never know what to expect. At least yesterday my BP didn't go down to 64/47 when I got home (like last time). That was ridiculous.
Chap-you bring me back to the days when I used to do the painting by myself in my house. I did the kitchen, bath and bedrooms. I now have neuropathy in my fingers, so they are numb now. I used to use oil-painting brushes for the area where the walls meet the ceiling.
I couldn't do anything like what you are doing now. But it was so nice to have everything looking new and clean once it was done.

If you shop at Target.... They're running their one-day special on gift cards today, same as they do in December. 10% off of up to $500.00 in Target gift cards, today 4/13 only. I don't think of myself as being a big Target shopper, but I'm always surprised at how fast my gift card balance disappears!

We went to our semi-annual county spring indoor yard sale extravaganza this morning and I made the huge mistake of letting DH wander by himself. He has ZERO self control when it comes to yard sale bargains. I'll have to watch him closer at the fall one! lol I was pleasantly surprised this time as there were more "yard sale" people there than "vendors". The Lululemon and Vera Bradley ladies weren't there this time!
I only bought stuff to resell, except for one of those plastic 5-drawer thingies to sort craft stuff into. I have a small one and needed a bigger one. So for $3 (and it was clean...no glitter!) I thought it was a good deal. I also bought a vintage Avon hummingbird lead crystal ornament to resell, but I think I'm going to keep that too, just because I like it!

Tabby I like the gift card sales too. I don’t remember them having one in April. Wonder if they are having tough times.
I usually buy toilet paper and laundry soap and the like with the gift cards and you can be sure they eat them up.
Last time I couldn’t afford more than $100 on one.

I broke down and bought the topsoil on Home Depot website and am paying $80 for delivery. 40-30 lb bags. Beats humping them out to hubby’s truck and then out of the truck when we get home. We buy bags instead of bulk because we can put the bags near each hole and spread it out instead of using a wheel barrel, shoveling topsoil into it and then dumping it in the yard.
I did tell hubby he had to put the bags where they are needed as I no longer have the strength to move the bags.
Home Depot is supposed to deliver it Tuesday.

denise15601 - a smaller brush is a good idea - I used the smallest brush I could find, but I'm certain there are a few oil painting brushes around. I prepped and painted almost half of the dining room/kitchen "complex" today - the DH made mention about 'white blobs' on the ceiling. Hrrrrr.... The ceiling needs to be painted anyway, but maybe I can avoid the white blobs for now. I didn't mask the ceiling because the paint is old enough to just come off when I pull off the tape.
So, I've been painting for two days and I have two more days to get the whole job done - about half the 'complex' needs two coats of paint and there's another hole in the wall that, if I had my way, would get plugged with burlap and paper and just spackled over, but I'll see if there's another way to fill it. The DH is mentioning to replace our 30-year-old dishwasher - he lists reasons to do so (one being cosmetic), but it works fine. I said you're going to kick away our good old solid, faithful, well functioning machine for something new? The build quality might not be as good? The idea of getting rid of a working appliance is just so weird to me - we went around about it and finally decided (I think) to run this one until it breaks down and then replace it. We only run it once or twice a week, anyway.

Good idea Chap since I don't know of anyone who is happy with the newer appliances. They absolutely don't last as long as the older ones do. And they are also much more expensive.
On Amazon, I saw DW front covers that are pretty neat. Might be an idea for you.

Chap, Denise is right - the dishwasher covers are pretty neat, and come in lots of prints and patterns.

Actually, eBay has a lot more styles of the covers and they are cheaper.
