Desire-that has been my problem, and I thought that it was from my chemo. But now I am not so sure. I went for my chemo today and started to shake as soon as I got into the chair and hadn't even gotten my pre-meds.
I didn't feel cold, but did ask for a warm blanket.
There has to be something else that is causing this severe shaking. I don't have the shivering at home even when my heat is down.
I asked for a 45-minute infusion, instead of 30 minutes. Once I got home, I was okay but extremely tired. That IS caused by the chemo, since it causes my normally high BP to go very low.
Meanwhile, my daughter took my grandson to the doctor, who said that it was too late to test for flu, but he probably had it which triggered the acute asthma flare-up. She tested negative for Covid and the flu, so she doesn't think that he had the flu. Maybe RSV?
Jaxson was given Mucinex, Delsyn and Robitussin.
I am sooo glad that I didn't watch him last weekend when he was contagious. He was just snotty then, but that happens often with his allergies.

Desire - a vitamin B12 deficiency can cause someone to feel cold. So can not eating enough or anemia.

Desire - a vitamin B12 deficiency can cause someone to feel cold. So can not eating enough or anemia. Good point. I will find out the results of my B12 on Monday.
I think that I have figured out my problem with the tremors. I took a Claritin (as instructed) on an empty stomach (for fasting bloodwork) before I left my house. And I started to get the shakes as soon as I entered the chemo center.
Apparently, that is a possible side effect from antihistamines. So I will eliminate them for my next treatment. The antihistimines were prescribed because i was having the shakes during my infusion. But it seems that Claritin was overkill.

I am picking up a laptop for my husband. He has been teaching at the rod and gun club and wanted one. He sent me a link. I thought maybe he had a stash of cash to buy it with but I guess not. He doesn’t know I bought it yet. Lenovo Ideapad. $399 plus tax. 10% Rakuten rebate coming. I have a similar one. Hopefully he doesn’t say “I need to buy a mouse, a keyboard, a usb multiport, etc.”. I did buy a usb dvd drive on Amazon.
He had an Hp years ago and sold it.
Just a basic computer. Mine works great. I don’t use it much as I have my iPad. It comes in handy once in a while. I guess he can’t set up his iPad at the gun club. He has that Office anywhere so we don’t need office.

Desire - a vitamin B12 deficiency can cause someone to feel cold. So can not eating enough or anemia. You might be onto something here in regards to this, Chap. Thanks for that input about not eating vs the temperature in the house. The night before, I made dinner for DH and just didn't feel like eating. Nothing in the meal or anything else appealed to me. I ate half of an orange-cranberry muffin. I also hadn't eaten all day besides a slice of toast that morning with coffee. I also didn't eat yesterday afternoon after this episode but last night I was starving and made a big dinner, had two large slices of meat with potatoes, veggies, and a slice of cherry pie later. This morning I feel fine, no chills or cold, etc. Since this has been happening to me periodically, on and off, I'm going to keep track of when I get these ice cold shivers to see if it relates to food consumption. Sometimes I just can't eat, I just don't feel hungry and nothing seems appetizing. You could put the most appetizing food or my favorite in front of me and I would say eh, not interested. Most of the time I eat fairly normal, but my eating has gotten whacko off-track.

You might want to at least Google possible reasons for your eating getting off track. Hope you are staying well hydrated.
This week has been spring "teaser" with nicer temps, but wind still letting us know it's winter with arctic chill. Today is definitely winter with temps mid 20s for highs. At least sun's out and will start getting warmer again starting tomorrow. Heading over MIL's to do laundry, spend time with her and sort through her mail and toss out the spam, which is usually most of it before she has SIL write checks to spammers (which SIL is too air-headed to question). I also check bottles of pain relievers, supplements and whatever to make sure nothing's expired, especially after finding small bottle of eye drops she was using that expired in 2022.

Taking a short hop off the ailment topic to slide in a weather gloat. Sunny day in the low 80s during which I will be out in the front yard wearing shorts in a full assault on the weeds.

Quick question for all the DIYers here. Would a PVC cutter cut through plastic lattice panels? Seems like it would, since the PVC pipes are much tougher to cut than the lattice is. Thoughts?

You win Kritter, but it's 74 here which is heavenly to me. Took a ride on the trike & now I'm hitting the yard. The way the weather is going I want to get it ready for early planting.

It should but I just cut them with a utility knife, the kind with the razor like blades.

I can't believe it is still February and, thanks to El Nino, we are headed for early planting. I wonder if the plant stores are going to on their game and ready too. I keep bitching about the weeds but am glad to get that chore out of the way. I haven't seen new weeds sprouting in the cleared areas so I am thinking/hoping it is a one and done thing.

I hope so. I'm doing a big trip to Lowes next weekend to get garden soil & supplies to make a gate for the driveway. Fingers crossed they will have at least some plants in already.
I'm really ready for some green & color in my yard.

In our areas they should have some annuals in and probably some annuals hanging baskets. I don't do annuals so I still have a wait. Probably some vegetable starter plants too. I do have some plants already coming back which is way earlier than usual but spring is way earlier than usual.

Every year I say I'm not planting annuals because they are such a waste of money and a lot of clean-up work in the fall. But every year I do, can't resist the bright colors. I wish a lot of the perennial flowers were more suited to pots instead of in the ground. We have daffodils, lilacs, lily, and tulip bulbs that come up every year but they don't last more than a few weeks and they are in the front where we never are. Wish there were huge all-summer flowering bushes right outside near our rear deck to look at all summer.

Thanks for the reminder! I have some hyacinths coming up so I just covered them with plastic baskets. And since I don't feel like treking up to my shed for the nasty deer repellent, I just sprinkled cinnamon on my daylilies.
My irises and daffodils are coming up nicely, but at least the deer don't like them.
Looks like I have Creeping Charlie weeds coming up that need to be pulled.
However, we did have some snow this morning, so I need a nicer day.

Going to be cold the next two days and then warm up again.
BTW I did get the Mucinex DM cough day formula. I can use NyQuil at night if needed. Thanks.

I spent too long online looking up options for some things I wanted to order, so no patio decorating today. No problem, tomorrow is nice too and I'll just do it then. Guess I'll clean up inside and pack up some excess stuff for GW, so the day won't be totally wasted . Not that a totally wasted Saturday is a bad thing

If you're over 60, it's perfectly acceptable to use fake flowers in the garden/yard Plus the fake flowers/greenery now don't look fake from a distance, not like they used to look.

I would stick needles in my eyes before I would put fake flowers out in my gardens or yard. That is just wrong on so many levels....the fake flowers, not the needles. NOTE: I am waaaay over 60 so it would be needles in the eyes over fake flowers in my flower beds.
Has anybody ever tried those rose bushes that have the root system in a ball covered with plastic with a couple of limbs sticking up with leaves on them? Walmart has some with very pretty roses in the pics but I have never tried planting them. I have always used the ones in pots that already have leaves and flowers.

To each their own The fakes work nicely on my patio. But I'm also in an apartment, so maybe the neighbors aren't as fussy I do see what I think might be fake plants on quite a few of the balconies (only reason I think they might be fake is that they "bloom" 100% of the time, LOL).

I have to put fake flowers into my hanging pots that hang from my shepherd's hooks that hold up my deer fencing. Otherwise, the deer would chomp the flowers ASAP.
Always fighting the deer.

The fakes are so good now that I often can't tell the difference - IMHO, they can be a good option. Desire - my interest in food started going on the skids in my early/mid-60s, just slowly. The same thing happened to my dad. We both still like a good meal but just don't have the general interest we used to and tend to skip meals or just not feel like eating. Dad was very spry and worked into his early 80s when he quit to take care of step-mom. He was also an avid gardener and did all of his own heavy gardening (he had a lot of arthritis and this, walking and doing an exercise routine in the morning he said really kept him going). All of this he continued with his wobbly appetite, but couldn't keep weight on after a while. He made a point of trying to eat regularly. Now the same thing is happening to me. This may simply be normal for some people, but if I fall off my vittles, I get cold.

I meant to say, I had a strange day today. My running friend and I had planned the Leap Year 4-miler - it was way south of Seattle which, for some reason, we didn't realise until we had signed up. Still, it was worth it. Casual, fun race in a new place and surprisingly scenic for being in basically a strip-mall town. Very nice trail along a river.
But the day - it started off with our meeting it a park-n-ride in north Seattle so we could carpool. It was his turn to drive. I have my pack with a little food and my stuff in the car (I had only had a banana). He pulled up next to me and I was getting out, locked the door, when I realised I had parked badly. I was going to get back in when I bumped the door the slightest bit and it swung to and, of all things, latched without the door being closed! The car was locked with my pack and keys in it. It's a 1997 and the doors don't really stay open that well and the lock is worn, but this was ridiculous. We yanked and pulled at the partially open door but no luck. (Once we were unable to get the door open after going running, even with the key, and we had to tie his Westie's leash to the key and have him heave on it, and he popped the key over and opened the door).
So my friend says "Can you still to the run as is and we can worry about this later? It's only 4 miles." I figured why not, so hopped into his car and we had a great time at the race. Then afterwards had to plan. Turns out he remembered he might have a key to our house at his house, so we go to his house, pick up his Westie, he rummages in a kitchen drawer and we pick out several keys. Now we go north out of town and up to my house - YAY, the key works. The HD is out on a bike ride, but I think he doesn't carry his car key and, sure enough, it's in the pocket of his jacket - whew! We run Dickens the westie around in the yard because he's having so much fun, then all climb back into the car and go BACK to the North Seattle park n ride and yay - my car opens!
I gave my friend a couple of Cliff protein bars and two cans of really good beer in thanks - he was delighted and said it was actually an adventure, petted Dickens and off he went.
But, he and I both took first place in our divisions, and he won a duffle bag in the raffle - which is great because his dog ate the last one.

I have 8 roses total between the front and back yards. They were all planted from those pots that plants are sold in. Amazingly enough they have never been fed and make it through the summers with little stress. I think the other plants told them that they are on their own just like the other plants are and it is survival of the fittest. Bougainvillea and Lantana are good teachers.
