Hello, hope everyone is doing well. We've had very pleasant weather here with lows in the 40s/50s and highs in the 60s/70s and mostly sunny. Really enjoying it I was able to hang out my laundry yesterday for the first time in a couple of weeks. It dried nicely.
I went to Ross today to take advantage of the 10% off. I am wrapping up my shopping, mostly just picking up things for Janey at this point. I am getting tired of gimping around with this sprained toe. It will be two weeks tomorrow since I injured it. It is getting better, but not fast enough for me lol.
Val, your lights are amazing! I love them! So festive! We used to put lights up on the eaves but now we are too old to mess with it. I have some vintage blow molds I put on the porch and in the yard. And two vintage light up Santas we hang on the porch. That's about it. Oh and a wooden vintage style wreath on the front door.

Jes...I am with you. I have a lighted wreath on my front door. That's it. So you have a lot more than I do.

((((jesmelric)))) I did that to my big toe last year and it took months to heal, sorry to say. Age isn't just a number. I hope you have better luck. Very painful and reminds you it's there with every step. Ouch.

Very painful and reminds you it's there with every step. Ouch. Oh no, months?!! Yikes It's been two weeks today and I'm already sick of it. Yes, it's so stinking constant. And I'm mad at myself for hobbling myself, especially at such a busy time of year. Plus it looks super ugly lol. A lesson for me to be more careful, I guess.
Well at least the weather is gorgeous, it's in the 60s and sunny and breezy. Can't ask for better.
Ugh my post office!! I went Monday at about 9:10 and they were NOT open. They didn't open till almost 9:40. Same exact thing yesterday. The draw is jammed, they don't answer the bell, the lobby has a long line waiting to get in. You can hear them talking and laughing in the back! It's like they just open whenever they want to. I have made an online complaint several times and never even got a response, just a notice my complaint is being closed. I mean people are trying to get to work, they have fussy babies, etc. It's so frustrating.

Ugh Jes! Do you have a Nextdoor app in your area? When stuff like that happens, a lot of people post about it. Those complaints might help to rectify the situation.

Jes, are you elevating your foot and applying ice? That might help speed up the healing. Rhetorical question of the day: why does Ikea make everything so danged difficult? I bought a fake ficus tree that had to be assembled and the stems didn't fit in the trunk without extensive force. Now I'm trying to put together one of their Christmas trees and I had to destroy the box to get the danged thing out. So much for using the box for off-season storage I had to come inside to get the rubber mallet so I could get the base stand pieces in place. Why do you do this, Ikea?? Oh well. At least they'll both look really nice after assembly

Our counter person was out sick yesterday. Someone posted in the local Facebook group. All the regulars retired during or before Covid.
And I just found out my mailman is retiring the end of the month.

There's one guy in our PO whom I call Eeyore. He's in constant slow motion and has a doom and gloom attitude. I hate when he's at the counter. He gets a little huffy and snarky when I only bring in one package, like I'm totally bothering him.

Simon is so funny. I'm putting a bookcase/ console/whatever you want to call it together with multiple compartments. It's on its back on the floor right now, I'm about 2/3 thru assembly. I stopped to give my knees a break and Simon decided he had to check out each compartment. He's going from one section to another, sitting in each one for a minute or two surveying everything.

There have been numerous threads about the post office on the neighborhood Facebook page, tons of complaints, but to my knowledge nothing has ever been done about it. People say a lot that it's a "training post office". What that means other than it's crap*y I don't know lol. I went today for my personal packages and a couple of ebay ones, and I just waited till almost 10 to run down there.
Val, I did ice my toe and elevate it some in the first few days, now I just elevate it a couple of times a day. It definitely feels better, but it's going so slow. I can't get it in a regular shoe without too much squeezing. It's still considerably fatter than it should be. Ugh.
Another beautiful day here, clothes on the line

My upstairs neighbor is driving me nuts. Every day, all day long, I get to listen to their music. Unfortunately they shut it off around dinnertime so I can't really complain to the office I just try to tune it out. I should probably get a radio for in here, it would drown out their music. On the bright side, at least they don't have the bass blaring. And whatever they're playing is usually fairly upbeat LOL. I ordered a stand that will turn my desk into a standing desk. I've been having shoulder pain that I can't get rid of, no matter what I do. It does go away though when I don't work at the computer for a day or two, so it most likely has to do with my desk setup somehow. I know my posture is horrid when I'm at the computer If I consciously sit up straight, I can work for short periods. That's what made me think of a standing desk, since they're better for you anyway. It comes in tomorrow. Guess I'll know by Monday if it worked I do have an appointment next week with an ortho for my elbow, so I'll get him to look at the shoulder too. Maybe I should get one of those chin-up bars you put in a doorway so I can stretch out my shoulders

Well it looks like the beautiful weather has ended as it's warmer and muggy with on and off showers. Still, it could be worse so I will have to accept it
I wanted to share pictures of these ornament/package decorations that I made. I tore the page out of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine last year and forgot all about it. Then I found it on my desk the other day and I thought what the heck. I was mailing my packages to my niece and oldest dd yesterday so I did those two myself (the Christmas deer one and the pup face one). The edges were rough so I added a bit of sparkle lol. DH helped me with the ones for my great niece (9) and nephew (6). I think they will make fun package tie-ons. I'm going to try a couple with candy inside for my nieces. It's just card stock and plastic fillable ornament halves.

I posted a week or so ago, about my friend who had a tiny part in the movie "Rustin", which had Chris Rock as one of the characters. I visited her yesterday and she tried to show me her 2 role parts. They were only about a second each. She had to finally stand by the TV and point to herself, since they were so brief, and I couldn't catch them! So for those brief bits, she had a vintage wardrobe lady, which included a vintage Playtex-type bra, a hair stylist and a make-up lady. She was termed as one of several "White Old Wealthy Women" and they were in the living room of an older home in the Pittsburgh area, listening to a speech by Bayard Rustin. He was an advisor to Martin Luther King. It sure seemed like a heck of a lot of work for two 1-second glimpses, for which she was paid a few hundred dollars. But she enjoyed it and is now looking forward to signing up for more "extras" parts.
The movie looks very interesting and I guess I will be signing up for a trial Netflix subscription.

OMG. My grandson is here tonight and brought a ton of Nerf guns for me to sell online. And over 100 WWE figures, etc etc. The little kid is growing up and wants me to sell his toys. I will never get all of these listed!

Heck, some of the WWE figures are selling for $40. He did donate a lot of toys and books, though.

I got the trees wrapped before the cold front moved in. I probably should have used 2 strands of lights per tree but what is there will have to do. Maybe next year I'll do 2 strands
