All 3 of them make me tired just thinking of cleaning one of the rooms. Of course, millionaires have maids. No thanks. I always told DH that that sort of house would be fine with me but I wouldn't want to clean it. He'd say if we could afford a house like that we could afford to have someone clean it.

The owners of the house in Val's post had staff that came every day to take care of the maintenance of the house. The owners did a lot of entertaining. I was there for a benefit for the Animal Defense League many years ago. The house has been for sale since 2017.

The first one is just way too busy with all those wall and rug patterns fighting each other and too much wood detail for me. How can they even find all their cats in there?!

I have a small kabuki makeup brush that my cats are in love with. They're constantly swiping it from the bathroom and leaving it all over the house. I finally put it in the drawer thinking that would stop them. Nope. Someone (or two someones) figured out how to open the drawer (or I didn't totally close it) and got the brush last night. I put it back in the drawer, but in the very back. I don't think they can fully open the drawer, but we'll see. Little stinkers I'm prepping the patio this weekend for the holiday decorations. I found some hangers that work on stucco and don't damage it, so I'm putting those up Sunday. I'll use them to hang lights from the stucco areas. The office is closed on Sundays so I don't have to worry about anyone from Maintenance driving by and wondering what I'm doing Not that they'd probably care, since the hangers are removable and damage free. I'm also hauling out all the lights this weekend, to see what I might need to replace or if I need any extra lights. I've learned the hard way that most of the outdoor Christmas decor sells out by next weekend, if you want anything other than mini lights that is.

Wow. We already hit our high for the day and the front is coming in. That didn't take long! Several major retailers have started their Black Friday sale early. Also, if anyone needs a wreath or garland, At Home has a nice selection at $12.99, or if you're a perks member (free), they're $9.99. Nice big wreaths too. /shopping PSA

Reminder: No mail service on Saturday for Veteran's Day. Thanks for the reminder Tomorrow is our anniversary (34th ) we just have some errands. Sunday he is taking me for a bit of Christmas shopping and we are going out to lunch. Probably watch a movie after. Or I should say after his nap, lol.
Rainy this morning and it finally turned cooler. Rain through Monday they are saying. I ordered Janey a raincoat that is supposed to come today. I sure hope she will tolerate it. Sometimes we are out in a light rain like this morning, and it would be really nice if she doesn't get as wet.
We have a group of "dog moms", we are having a dinner this evening. It's fun, we each bring a dish and have a meal and a bit of wine and usually play a couple of games. I usually bring dessert, I really enjoy baking. I made a new recipe, called Raspberry almond tartlets and they came out really delicious I'm glad because they were a bit of a pain to make lol.

jesmelric - congratulations to you and your DH! We were up in Canada hiking for several days. We lucked out on the weather - the first day was misty but that was it. The second day we had a gray but peaceful weather and hiked for hours, pulling in maybe an hour before it started bucketing. Today when we were leaving there was a scything cold wind and rain, but of course we were not hiking - just sitting at border control lol. The ascent up "Cardiac Hill", the notorious 'north shore'. imgur.com/6AwGYiHA nice, misty day - these are favourite days for hilly hikes as one always stays cool and refreshed. imgur.com/6Ln4E5i(sorry, imaging not uploading here so this is all I have).

Did my last official work party for the gun club. Every year for the first 4 years you are supposed to do a work party. Usually takes about 2.5-3 hours. I should have done it next month. They decided to take apart the kitchen and storage closets, sort or toss everything and wash everything. I would have rather done the bathrooms but they wanted one of the men to do it (either the men’s room was really bad or they wanted them to appreciate what we do). They are easy to do just the men’s room can be really, really bad. And they are indoors.
So anyway, I ended up taking stuff out to the dumpster and hauling old shelves away. If I wanted to physically clean every drawer I would have done my own at home first.
I also could have done another assignment outdoors but I thought I could do the bathrooms.
Oh well, all done with that crap.
We can opt out by laying $100 each the last 3 years but that is a lot of money for how long it takes.
My coworker said he doesn’t do them and hasn’t been charged. They really should look at that.
Anyway, it’s done.
(PS the guy cleaning the two bathrooms was still at it at 11:30. No idea what he was doing).

Meet Bertha, my early Christmas present to myself.
It's electric so I can choose to pedal or use the throttle & let it do all the work.
Spent the morning riding around the neighborhood & it was so dang much fun.

My brother got an e-bike. Just remember to charge it outside and unplug it when done charging. Preferably store it outside. Don’t buy off brand replacement batteries, especially off Amazon.

Had been researching them for months & this was a good deal. Very sturdy & well made, & will carry up to 330# so it holds a lot of shopping.
Goes up to 20mph & you can go 12 miles on a charge. Battery is removable so you can charge it in the house.
Only additions I made was to add a mirror & to put Slime (self healing goop) in the tires.
I hadn't ridden a bike in decades & was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to ride even with my wobbly balance.
ETA: if you've never put a bike together you need to get someone to do it for you. My tenant is a bike guy & did it for me & it took 2.5 hours.

Nice bike!!
At Husky stadium for Utah - it's absolutely packed and they've begun cramming people along the back of the top rows. A contest of opposites - Utah has one of the strongest defenses in the conference, UW has one of the strongest offenses. It's cool and windy which is vexing in any passing game. Game tied.
ETA The stadium smells like fish and chips. Yummm!

The only thing is that hitting 20 mph on a bike is a lot more than 10 mph - get used to the handling and braking as you take up the speed and you'll be gold!
It's raining now but we all came prepared. The Utes fans are noisy and good humored. We have this thing that's pulled pork stuffed into an apple fritter - they don't quite know what to think, but they're giving it a try lol. Now we're doing The Wave and playing Louie Louie - they think we're nuts.
Lead is bouncing back and forth- they came to play!

That bike would be great in the city, but out where I live (in the boonies), the roads are too winding to even ride a regular bike.
I haven't ridden a bike since I became old enough to drive, so a three-wheeler would work well.
