I'd be so tempted to send your pics to the company attention of owner and ask how that last trap with the raccoon in it is supposed to work when it's just keeping it alive to go back into the crawl space? It doesn't entice them to leave when they have a food source and no way to escape.
It really pisses me off how incompetent the guy is when proper traps would have solved the problem a long time ago.

thekloset- I hope WM had the buns.
LOL- I didn't pay attention and when I went to fry up the hot dogs, found there are 8. Buns come in packs of 6. Not a problem, just split a bun twice for the extra. I'd rather have more hot dog and less bun anyway. Ahhhhhh, my first footlong in many many many many years was awesome! they did not. it looks like a regional brand.
Flower IS the one i used to buy and it did show up on WM site but unavailable in any store within driving distance
i'm going to try to see if i can see where the manufacturer supplies. The hotdogs are the easy part here--ive never understood why the buns are such a challenge since we have a ton of vendors of ft longs.
i am now **CRAVING** a good footlong and the bun is mandatory!

Sorry about the buns and hope you're able to find them. At least you have footlongs available where you live. I haven't see them around here since probably the early 80s, no kidding. It was nostalgic and fun finally eating one last night from the taste to how cool holding that long bun was. Had another for "brunch" this morning.
Just a thought, if your local WM has the footlong hot dogs, maybe they have a different brand of buns to go with them? If you have a store that's not far to drive, might be worth a look.

I don't think I've ever had a footlong. I don't even remember the last hot dog I had. Now you guys have me wanting one I found out the critter guy won't be back until Monday or Tuesday, because the apartment "manager handles those kind of issues and she won't be in until Monday". Oh joy. I know she'll contact the critter company Monday morning, that part I'm not worried about. I'm beyond annoyed. I've decided to go with a 3 month renewal lease when the current one is up, so that my lease ends in February. Then I'm moving. And the next place isn't going to have a garden atmosphere. All the damn trees and shrubs here look nice but they attract critters, wasps and spiders. The spiders are insanely prolific this summer At least the wasps won't be an issue at the property I'm considering - it doesn't have patios.

We grill hot dogs all summer long here and I understand craving a good charred hot dog on the grill. The first hot dog of the season is always a big thing here, as we don't grill them all winter. Sahlen's was one of the first meat packers to make the 12" hot dogs for Louie's Hot Dogs of NY. They make a good-tasting hot dog.
We like the Hummel Bros. brand the best, only available in Southern New England. They make all sizes but I can only get the regular size in my local stores. Oscar-Meyers are like fake trash-tasting hot dogs to us. Frankie's Hot Dogs is a local chain around our area and always had the foot-longs that were a big draw when they changed over from the regular size, but they never use the long buns, the hot dogs stick out on both ends. They sell their packaged hot dogs in our local stores here, good tasting, but they are only the regular size.
Val - I feel bad for you and what you are going through with the racoons. Is that racoon in the cage out on your patio ceiling or did he go back up into the crawl space? I would be flipping out.

At least I know why they're so loud now LOL. Two of them chasing each other I guess. If they are each a different sex, I do hope they aren't old enough to mate as that would be a really bad thing.

Warm and humid here. Misty kind of rain. Waited most of the day and finally got my walk in.
Was hoping to get a 42” crate from the local groups or the former dog owners. Nothing panned out. One was all rusty. Another was chewed apart. Easier to just order one on Amazon. So we have that coming this week. Bought name tags and AirTags today. Hope the owners don’t back out😩

Val glad you know what you are dealing with. Hopefully they get the critters now that they know what they are.

Raccoons give birth typically March-April, but if litter doesn't survive, might have another in June. Fingers crossed they are the same sex and a COMPETENT person can trap the 2 and seal everything up so at least you'll have some peace of mind until you move.

Ugh! Raccoons! We are waging war on a monster raccoon that is tearing up all my bird feeders every night. I've had to start taking everything in at night. We have 2 hav-a-heart traps set but the big bugger is too BIG to fit in them. Gonna need a bigger trap! (Cue the Jaws theme music)

We have some really big raccoons here, too - you can hear them stomping around on the roof. When our cats were here the raccoons used to come up onto the back deck at night, like two or three at a time, and peer through the sliding glass doors to see what was going on. Little Cassie the Tux would go crazy when she saw them - hurling herself against the glass with loud thumps, snarling, her tail all puffed up. They'd just look at this spitting, growling little 9 lb thing - all Cassie wanted to do was go out and try to beat them up. Um, no. I caught her chasing smaller raccoons more than once - she could be such a terror that she'd actually frighten larger animals, like big dogs who were just curious.
We had our May hot spell and are now back to our more seasonal temps in the 60s a few days might hit 70. I'm going out running on Sunday and it will be along that stretch where I tried to stop that beat-down, but I will go earlier when there are more people around so it's not so lonely through that area. I haven't been back since that incident, and it took me a bit to get over it, but I won't be pushed out of my favourite places. I'll have my cell phone (I have an arm band I use, it's just that it's wearing out and kind of a pain to carry that clunky phone) but mostly I'll just go earlier when there are more people around.

Back to the footlongs--We could get them, when I was a kid, at Jahn's ice cream parlor. They were quite wonderful. Jahn's also had a gigantic dessert (family sized) of ice cream scoops called The Kitchen Sink. Our family wasn't big enough for that. LOL.

I remember Adam Richman doing a Kitchen Sink challenge in San Francisco. It turned into a gross concoction when it was melting as he was eating it. If you don't want to watch the entire video, yes, he finished the whole thing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=32kKU4J6xN4

Now I'm craving a kitchen sink cookie from Panera Bread. Best chocolate chip cookie ever!
