Assisted living facilities are designed for older people who are no longer able to manage living independently and need help with daily activities such as bathing or dressing, but don't require the round-the-clock health care that a nursing home would provide. Is your mom that bad, jes, that she needs full time care? Also, even if the BF had a stroke and is using a wheelchair, he may still be eligible for assisted living (rather than a full nursing home). Medicare won't cover it (which makes no sense to me). However, Many states also allow their residents to use Medicaid waivers to pay for assisted living or in-home care if the services can be obtained at a lower cost.
If your loved one doesn’t have much in terms of savings or other financial assets and their income is low, they may qualify for Medicaid, which can help pay for assisted living. A quick, free and non-binding Medicaid eligibility test is available.www.medicaidplanningassistance.org/medicaid-eligibility-test/?afid=Caring Mom can't keep track of her medications, she requires insulin shots as well. She can't manage her finances and is forgetful enough to leave something on the stove, etc. Before the stroke she was living with my sister and we were getting concerned about her abilities and my sister had already taken over her check book and she was starting to do weird things that she couldn't remember. Plus she already had problems with her ankle then she broke that hip and has limited mobility as well. Also she has financial assistance for the skilled nursing.
As far as the boyfriend I have no idea as to his physical and mental and financial abilities. But I am guessing he wouldn't be in a skilled nursing facility if he had the capacity in those categories to do assisted living. But who knows.

Great news- Ramona is already home from the hospital! She looks good and is eating well, and even crawling a little bit. That means I'M HOME too! And I'm gonna sleep in my own bed tonight without keeping one ear open for the baby. I'll take a couple of days off and then get back to work Monday. Thanks for everyones thoughts & prayers 💕

Yay for Ramona! Rainy and 60 here today. Bleah. Although we do need the rain. Twila decided last night she wanted to be a lap kitty. Finally. Now she and Simon will have to work out who gets my lap during TV time

Retro, that's fabulous!!
Rainy here and warmer, too. We are planting the redbud tree next Saturday so it's probably a good thing. Next Sunday we will have DS and DIL over for a birthday meal for him. He likes grilled steak so hopefully it will be nice weather for it, as we are doing it either way lol.
I hope they have some good stuff out at the VV tomorrow, my spring/summer inventory is a bit low. However they might not have a lot of that out yet. But with 1/2 off I'll stock up on whatever good deals I can find.

Warmer here too.
Sitting here with hair color on my hair. Luckily hubby agreed to help with the back. I actually bought a cape for doing my hair🤣. If you asked me 2 years ago if I could see myself coloring my own hair, the answer would have been “no”.
Can’t wait for Spring. Forecasters are saying we are supposed to have a cold February. I just count down to 2 more winters at work after this one!

Titus would have been happy today with the Eagles going to the Super Bowl.

Good news, Sandy!
We actually had 1 1/2 days of sun here - I got out early on a run and it was brilliant out. Below freezing, though, and I almost slipped on some icy mud. The DH went out with an close friend of his for Thai food this evening - I was invited, his friend is also a friend of mine - but I told him go and have a fun dinner. This friend lives in Oregon and they have long conversations on the phone, but never get together without a whole gaggle of the rest of us, too, and I thought the DH shouldn't miss the rare opportunity. I think he wanted me to come along, but was also glad for the opportunity to just schmooz with his good friend - they've known each other for about 30 years at least. I had smoked salmon poke bowl and a beer and listened to an audiobook.
One of my cousins gave us a Click and Grow indoor garden for Christmas. I've commandeered it (the DH hasn't got a a lot of interest in setting it up - he does yard work but isn't much of a gardener) and am going to start growing basil, supplementing it later on with peppers, both hot and sweet. The whole concept is pretty cool, particularly in our dark, chilly climate where it isn't that easy to grow chili peppers. I'm going to get it going tomorrow morning and we'll see how it goes. They have something called a Wall Farm which really intrigues me.
