Those kittehs know how that works. They were raised knowing that whoever has the money makes the decisions.

Just a reminder that the Target gift card sale is this weekend. Not sure what day it ends. 10% off their gift card. You have to use the app at the register. Limit $500. I usually get each of my cleaners a card and one for myself if I have money to get one.
I haven’t shopped much at Target this year though.

Penzeys had their gift card sale last weekend but I didn't get any since I just stocked up on the previous 21% off sale. Hmmm. I wonder if the main stores I shop at will have a GC sale?

I don't know about Simon, but I think I have Twila's paw of approval. I woke up last night with her asleep behind my knees and she was super affectionate this morning, even curling by my legs while I petted her. First time for that. If her tail twitching in the window is anything to go by, she's loving the extra windows and the view.

Is Simon any better today?
If anyone makes green bean casserole, I suggest using fresh/frozen green beans (steamed first to soften) and instead of soy sauce, use teriyaki sauce. I tried teriyaki because I didn't realize I was out of soy and never went back.

If Twila is happy then Simon will fall in line on the happiness path. She has bewitched him.

More snow today - I miss the walking fur-hedge Jamie going out to play in it - she was so furry, including on the bottoms of her paws, that she rarely got cold, though we made sure she didn't stay out there too long as she had no real meat on her bones, she was just all fur. Cassie would pad out there, too, but after a while would start doing the paw shaking thing with each step and grumbling to herself, particularly if Jamie jumped up and would shake snow all over her.
Since the roads are icy I'm stuck on the indoor trainer - we have about two hours where one can get out of our road before the temp drops again and it's ice bound, though if they clear the sort-of main road at the end of our little road I'll go for a walk this afternoon before it gets dark and the temp drops again. I dug out my very old hiking boots that have a bazillion miles on them and are pretty beat up and which I keep for yard work - they're not great for long hikes in the mud but they work fine in the slush, so I'm stomping around in those right now.

I bought what I thought was going to be a cute Christmas flamingo/Xmas tree tabletop figurine. Maybe 10"-12" high.
What I received was a spectacular 28"-30" high floor figure. It's awesome 😎

Simon is ok now that all the hustle and bustle is done. He sits and supervises me as I move boxes, then goes and inspects the boxes

It's awesome 😎 I hope we get photos. Is it as good as the metal rooster? My walk was instead devoted to cleaning up the back yard. We have snags down (one big one fell and squashed my favourite rhodie bush), shrubs broken up and branches ripped from trees. I shook the heavy, wet snow off of anything I could to try to relieve the burden on the branches anywhere I can, but I have a feeling our poor rhodies will be pretty ragged looking this spring. Ever since I had Covid I wear out quicker (I'll be glad when that finally passes off) so now I guess I have a lie-down. Bleh. Bright spot is that I can taste most liquids most days now! Everything else tastes like paste but I'll take what I can get.

When I moved, back in the day, I had two kitties. Victoriana Jane was a little gray girl and she spent two days hiding under the bed; I had to move food and the litter box near there. Sweat Socks followed me from room to room, like a faithful puppy, although he was a large, tough tuxedo cat. When he realized that he got interested in something and didn't see me leave the room, he would come out to find me, crying. I hate moving. Last move, which was 39 years ago, I vowed would be my, uh, last move. I don't know how you do it so often, val.

It's raining ice right now. Our tux used to follow me around - she would also wait patiently at the door of my office and wait for me to come to work, peering down the hallway. Jamie followed the DH around and he almost fell over her a million times when she'd be quietly sitting between his feet or next to one foot. She was hoping for "combies" and that man-cat bonding experience when he would brush out her fur in the evening.

Merry Christmas to me! And it came in an extra long box which is perfect since I was planning to list a 32" reindeer and had no box for it. Aaaand air pillows! Chap-don't be jealous of my lil coffee maker...

Oooo...new coffee infrastructure! That's a nice, compact footprint, too. I always get excited over new coffee stuff. The DH was laughing when I was so excited when the coffee hand-grinder I got myself for Christmas last year arrived. He's a tea drinker.
We're supposed to get above freezing tomorrow and have rain and mid-40s for the foreseeable future...so back to our normal weather. I like snow, but either to just watch it fall, or to have it deep enough that I can run around in it on my snowshoes, but frozen slush and downed trees is kind of a bummer.

Is it as good as the metal rooster? Nothing is as good as Beyonce the huge metal rooster! When I clear all the boxes out and set up the Christmas decorations, I'll upload a pic.
