All my fosters are off to their new lives. Goal was Thanksgiving and a last minute push got it done. Happy lives, little ones.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Well, I managed to get whatever DH has and spent practically all yesterday in bed. At least I'm upright today and moving, though still achy, sluggish and throat is sore. Turkey breast is in the oven. Adding green bean casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce for the feast.

I refreshed my listings. Only have 5 things up. I think I am going to put the Hallmarks on the Hallmark facebook sale group. Maybe I can unload them all soon.

Yes, that is the recipe. It has been around for about 50 years in this area. Yet, a lot of people never heard of it! Maybe it is regional to PA? My daughter did have a ton of different dishes and I really wish that I can get my health weirdness figured out, so that I can partake of her food! I did bring home a little bit of this and that, though.

I forgot to post this picture yesterday, but I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving. This is an arrangement that I did in a pumpkin.

Wow - very cool, Emerald!
No Thanksgiving here, but the World Cup is roaring along - USA and England played to a 0-0 draw today (1 pm Qattar time, 7 pm here). The DH and I were at a pub which fortunately had a quiet room away from the packed tap room - we could kind of keep track of play, but still have dinner and a few pints without a lot of screaming and yelling.
We've rounded up about 130 miles in our hike(s) and today was our last day. My old, worn hiking boots blew up about 30 miles ago and I've been making do with running shoes, which are a pretty poor substitute. My feet are like hamburger with black toenails and blisters. My Christmas present to myself this year is new hiking boots!
We migrate to London tomorrow - the very very western portion of it in Hounslow (near Heathrow) - we stayed in Hounslow for a while a few years back and actually liked it. There is a famous Georgian estate near there to look at, and you can rent bikes to tour the huge grounds (which, considering the state of my feet, sounds great). Mind your head! (On the way out to the countryside):
"A green and pleasant land" (not three miles out of busy Norwich):
After foot slogging miles through drizzle and winds, today was a glorious day with a very easy path!
Hope you liked my little travelogue!

Love all your pics, Chap, and sorry about the boots. Hope your poor feet recover cycling and less walking. Hope a shop has moleskin and/or New-Skin. If this is any indication of what's in store for holiday delivery, might want to consider shipping early. I ordered an item off Amazon on 11/20, seller shipped 11/21 from TX, arrived in OH at facility 45 minutes away on 11/23. No update on tracking until today 11/26 it's back in TX.
And thank you for the well wishes, I'm feeling a lot better already. Same with DH so the cootie exchange should be over soon.

It is over 60 degrees here today. We went for a walk on the local trail and am going to go outside and take down fall/thanksgiving and put up Christmas!

Item picked up by FedEx from QVC on 11/7. It's been stuck in FL ever since. I'm calling QVC this week and asking them to cancel the order. I have 3 other packages that have been boucing around TX for several days (1 Fedex, 2 UPS). My items sent USPS however have been fast and on time. I really expected it to be the other way around Been alternating between packing and internet surfing all day . Guess I better get off the computer and go do another round of packing.

It's supposedly departed TX (again) so will see where it winds up next. DHL and USPS is supposed to finish delivery.
And I thought Amazon was joking about expected delivery between Nov.29-Dec.6th. Glad my Christmas shopping is over and the only reason I bought this item was it finally showed up at the most I was willing to pay.

I was looking at some things on Amazon today and projected shipping date was not until late next week. I ended up ordering from WM for store pick up tomorrow It was an item shipped by AMZ, not a third party seller. Like you, good thing my Chrstmas shopping is done and this was something for me.

I didn't think the sales were super great this year - at least not for the items I was looking for specifically. Also, in an attempt to not overspend some websites I stayed away from entirely.
I ordered a new rice cooker from HSN. I am usually not a single use appliance type person, but my rice cooker is an exception. My cheapo Oster one was seen better days. HSN had a nice Hamilton Beach on sale for $42 and since I've never shopped with them they had a $20 off coupon basically making it half price.
I also finally pulled the trigger on a pair of Rothys. I have been wanting a pair forever and they are having their "archive sale". They were on sale for $79 and I used a $20 off first time coupon code there as well. I am a bit of a cheapskate in a lot of regards, but shoes are an exception for me. Quality shoes are worth the money imo. I was hoping Birkenstock would have some sort of sale but the only thing I see is their regular last chance section. I bought 3 pairs over the last year and I am totally completely sold on them.
I think the only thing DH bought was the deal for a years worth of Peacock streaming for 99 cents a month. We were hoping to buy some air purifiers but DH didn't seem to find what he wanted, at least nothing on Black Friday sales.

My shredder started sounding terrible the other day. I took it apart and two plates were separated that should not have been. I got most of the papers out but they were still apart. Used Black Friday deals to get one at Staples. It is so much quieter than my old one.
Got a new backup drive for my computer. I have Carbonite but I also like a local backup. We got air tags for a few things. Hubby had]s expensive equipment and I worry about him leaving stuff at job sites. He set them up already. I got one for the dog collars. I can put it on whichever one I am walking.
We don’t exchange gifts because we just buy what we need.
We are at a local restaurant yesterday. Met 2 friends there.
Now I have to figure out which charities to split my small donation among. Found out a guy I knew died last October 2021. Will donate to the SPCA he supported.

I had that shipping date late next week on an Amazon order that I placed on Thanksgiving and the stuff arrived yesterday. I think they are throwing those shipping dates far out just in case they run into delays. I think it also probably comes down to where they ended up shipping the order from. My items came from Distribution Centers in Texas. I ordered a backup for my current appliance when I saw it on sale on Amazon for $79. It usually runs over $100. Since I use it for everything except a microwave I jumped on it. Just looked today and it is back up to $111. It takes up a bit of counter space but there is also a smaller one that does the same thing. I have had my first one for over 2 years and it is still going strong so far. Just used the broiler part the other day for the first time because I usually grill and a whole new world opened. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J2PWRFJ/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I found much better prices for the things I was shopping for the first two weeks of November. Since that's been the case for about 5 years now, I start watching the sale prices the day after Halloween and can usually get what I want at the price I want to pay. That reminds me, I need to go order a shower curtain I've been watching. Kohls had the best price yesterday.
Nice toaster oven, Kritter! Do you still use your air fryer?

I wanted to do something different this year with my year end donation. This weekend I am sponsoring an adoption event at the local Humane Society in honor of my first rescue cat, Claus, who walked into my life on Christmas Eve, 1996. All cat adoptions will be free for the adopters who will still go through the entire adoption procedure although I will pay their adoption fee. Nine cats went to their new homes yesterday.
On 12/14 my neighbor and I will sponsor a spay/neuter event for cats in honor of my sister who passed away in 2005. Three Crazy Cat Ladies who grew up together back in the day without the internet, cell phones, and when TVs were the best thing ever. It is so hard for individuals here to get low cost spay/neuter appointments because there are never enough available. Fifty individuals will be able to sign up with a $25 appointment deposit, show up on 12/14 with their cat at the Humane Society, and we will cover the rest of the cost. Our promotion is titled "Simon Says Spay and Neuter your Cats." Simon was a rescue cat that lived at each of our houses during his lifetime.
A new donation strategy for me in knowing how my donation makes a difference.

That appliance is also my air fryer. It does 3 things..bake, broil, and air fry. The only other appliance that I use is my microwave.

Sunny and 72 here today. Low 70's tomorrow and Tuesday, then a cold front moves in Wednesday. It will be chilly on Thursday when I'm moving, but so far no rain is forecast. I can live with chilly I started adding a donation to my purchase at the checkout at HEB last year. Unfortunately they change benefitting charities monthly so some months I don't donate. I prefer my money go to pet charities and local foodbanks. However, I did discover that the SA food bank has donation bins at the local GW stores. Months when HEB's charity of the month is a group I know nothing about, I've decided I'll stock up on some of most "in demand foods" and drop them off at the GW food bank drop off bins. I wish HEB stores had the bins all year, but they only have them every now and then.
