Good morning, one and all. Wowza, another month about to go bye bye. We're enjoying a few wonderful days of above average temps in the 70s and plenty of sunshine before dipping into the 60s again, which is still nice this time of year. Too nice to stay indoors so going to be out and about running errands and enjoying the warmth while it lasts. Hope everyone has a "Poppin' Fresh" day!

Hubby is away. Dogs were outside almost the whole time I was working last night. I kept yelling on the camera to get in the house. It was misty and raining.
The girl whom I had come over to make sure they got a potty break a few years ago is not available. Her parents are getting divorced and she is mainly with her mom.
I am looking at a remote patio dog door but do not want to use collars. One I can use with an app. One of my dogs will pull off collars plus the hazard of them becoming entwined. Then if I get one I have to worry about my one dog being afraid of the sound of the motor.
Getting the house ready for the cleaners. Who come tomorrow. Hoping they take a day off soon. Sometimes I need a break.
Taking a break from work today and tomorrow. Sometimes I need one. Still down 2 guys on our shift. Been busy with kids breaking down. They can’t handle the stress of our college. i will not have to worry about the dogs hanging outside all evening.

Yesterday, I drove over MIL's to see friends visiting. As I pulled out of side street onto main road, my Cube started talking. Female computer voice I couldn't understand what "she" was saying because of wind and not loud enough. Freaked me out because nothing was lit up on the dash and the radio was off. By the time I pulled into MIL's driveway (she's only a mile away), it stopped. I sat there convincing myself I hadn't imagined it. When I told DH, he looked at me like I was crazy. Emailed friend who also has a Cube if it ever "talked" to her and she said there's a female voice when you activate the Bluetooth on steering wheel. Somehow, I must have managed to push the button. Thankfully, a rational explanation, but for a minute I thought I had a haunted Cube, lol.

I've hit that button by accident before and it always startles me. I've learned to say "cancel" and it goes away. I'm getting a two bedroom in my current complex, woo hoo! My lease is up next month and I've been stalking watching the website watching for available units around the end of the month. Yesterday there were several coming up soon. I went by the office this morning to look at another unit that is the same floorplan but currently available. It's pretty much the same flooplan I have now but with an extra bedroom and two smaller bathrooms instead of the insanely big one I have now. The kitchen is the same, so that's good. I've gotten very spoiled with my large and convenient kitchen. Since I'm moving at the end of my lease, there is no transfer fee but I do have to pay deposits again. That's OK, I should get most of my deposits on this apartment back, so it's a wash. I'll be on the ground floor in the new place. No lugging a heavy bike up the stairs, no worrying about the neighbor if I want to take a virtual exercise class, and I can put bird feeders, hummingbird feeders and a birdbath out for the kitties to watch The cats will love it. They'll have more play space too, instead of us being on top of each other. The new unit isn't right by big trees, either, so maybe I'll have fewer squirrels on the patio

Geez- I hope they gave you some hearing protection. I've had an MRI on my shoulder - they don't stuff you in as far as if you're having your brain scanned but I was still in all the way and that banging was something else! I had earplugs AND headphones with music - they asked me what genre I wanted. Even with the noisy hip-hop I still heard the loud banging. I got into a kind of trance state with it all, though.

Agree. I asked the tech why it was so loud but his answer was way over my head. One of the ladies in my BC support group said that she sleeps through it! Lol. No way!

Congrats on the new apartment, Val. I hope the person above you is nice and quiet. That was why DH insisted on top floor when we got ours. As for the tree rats, well, good luck with that. They don't care what floor you're on around here. Our apartment is 2 bedrooms and we'd sure love to have one huge bathroom instead of the one small one.

I'm on the second floor of a 3 story building right now. I've had multiple neighbors upstairs and the only time I really hear anything is if they drop something heavy on the floor. I'm glad to get back on the ground floor. No more stairs!!

Agree. I asked the tech why it was so loud but his answer was way over my head. One of the ladies in my BC support group said that she sleeps through it! Lol. No way! They use magnets with electric current running through them - they make a banging noise when they're activated. Yeah, loud! I almost dropped off, but I've also slept through pneumatic drills going in the street in front of my house.

When I had my neck MRI I imagined I was in a prison listening to cell doors move and slam shut.

Just got the call that my brain is clear! Great to know that my BC has not spread to my brain. Whew!
Meanwhile, I can't see an endocrinologist until Jan and I have no idea what the heck to eat.

I had an MRI on my lower back after a car accident. They gave me headphones but I just fell asleep. Got a nice nap by the time it was over!

Sunny and 76 here today. Much nicer than the 80s IMO. Looks like we get a week of the very nice 70s and then it goes back to the lows 80s. Ugh. Guess I better get dressed and "get to work in the office". I have some deadlines this week.

National Greasy Food Day, eh? I don't do much greasy food anymore unless you count restaurant (not fast food) hamburgers. I do still like a really good grilled hamburger. I don't know if it qualifies as greasy but it's definitely fatty and a carbo overload - restaurant by me has the best loaded french fries. Now that I think about it, though, I bet I could make some that taste even better and are a bit more healthy (fries in the air fryer, real cheese for the cheese sauce, homemade ranch dressing, etc). Hmnnn. I'll have to think about that. As for Chucky, I've never seen any of the Chucky movies. I'm not into horror movies much anymore. Too many stupid people doing stupid stuff that usually gets them killed

I read the news - that's enough horror for me.
OK, I love crispy greeeezy food. My ex-FIL used to catch walleye, dip it in batter and then fry it up in butter - it was sooo good! But I only eat it from time to time - like yesterday evening I had a few pieces of prawn tempura. The texture was good lol - my tongue tingled so the hot sauce on it must have been spicey.
I walked up the hill to get my booster at the local Safeway market. They must have scheduled everyone at once because there was a mod surging around the little pharmacy they have, some with clipboards filling out forms, others waiting in line. I had filled out all the paperwork online so just had to show my vaccine card and got the shot. Got a bowl of take away spicey poke for dinner with 10% off for getting the jab, headed out and it was raining - it had been wet but was supposed to not start up again until later in the afternoon. Fortunately, I had a hood so it was a pleasant, refreshing walk back. We'll see how it goes. They didn't ask me if I had had Covid and when.
The DH says that between the olde farte's Xtra Special flu shot and the bivalent booster, when we go to England we should be proof against anything up to the Black Death lol.

Glad you got your booster, Chap, so that's out of the way. Had to re-read the part about bowl of take away because I thought you wrote, "puke" instead of "poke". I guess it was from reading about your altered taste you didn't care what you tried as long as it had flavor.
Shoot, now you've got me wanting walleye. Not cheap but oh, so good. Probably have to settle for beer battered cod.

Dang. Now I want either fish & chips or a grilled hamburger. Decisions, decisions. I think the grilled burger is going to win, though.

I just went to the local brewery for fish and chips. First time there. Asked on the local page and several people recommended them. Nope. Nope.
They had a wedge salad which was good. The fish was 2 balls of airy cod with no taste. It was on top of the fries so you had to dig for the fish. The fries were good. The glaze was on the fries.
“Fish and Chips -Beer-battered Icelandic Cod, seasoned house cut fries, spicy pickle tartar sauce, Worcestershire glaze”

The best fish and chips I've ever had was at a chippie in Sydney, Australia, right on the water. It was a hole in the wall that had been there for years and had a huge list of fish types you could have deep fried or grilled, which they pull right out of the offshore water. You had to eat it outside (they had almost no seating, it was just a big covered booth open to the air, but Sydney is warm) at a bunch of picnic tables ranged around the dirt in front of it. Full of office workers and families munching away.
I'm having a reaction to the booster, but it's only feeling a bit chilly and achy, and I can barely lift my arm past my shoulder. So it should pass off soon.

Denise, Great news about your MRI! I've had two MRIs of the brain and, yes, they were loud! Lots of clanging, banging, and jackhammer noises. I certainly didn't sleep through it.

Denise, so glad you got good news! Val, what will the wasp situation be at the new apartment?
I'm getting my flu shot and the covid bivalent this afternoon at 3:00. Ugh, that deserves 2 lollypops.

FWIW, Frakin, I had all the symptoms from the other shots with the bivalent shot, but they were much milder than before. A single round of Tylenol took care of them. My arm did itch at the injection site for several days though, that was new. Fingers crossed you only have a mild reaction, if at all! As for those pesky wasps...I'm moving in first of December and the wasps should be dormant then I'll put the screens up after Christmas and they should be in place by the time the wasps ramp back up in the spring. I'm probably going to contact the handyman I've used before and get his help in putting up the screens. The ones I bought for my current patio should work at the new place as well. Yay! The patio is long enough that it might be easier with 2 people, plus he can put up some plant hangers for me too. I'm leaving the ones here that he put in. If I remove them, there will be ugly marks on the stucco where the screws were. Leaving the plant hangers looks much nicer and the next tenant will probably appreciate them.

Just an Ebay feedback that made me smile:
"Excellent transaction. A fragile item was so thoroughly packed that it could have survived a fall into the Grand Canyon."
