Good morning everyone! Another hot and very humid week. Amazing videos online showing floods in Death Valley and Las Vegas recently, which are rarities. I can't fathom being stuck in Death Valley. We were there once- 114 degrees and 118 at Dante's View and couldn't wait to leave. Scary when lightning struck downtown Las Vegas and took out the Fremont Street Experience canopy show as well as a few casinos, not to mention the flooding. That's on top of the flooding in KY that's already taken 37 lives. Prayers sent for everyone including the boardies with loved ones dying and precious Riley to recover fully.

Had a sale this morning and 3 minutes later she cancelled because she ordered it by mistake. Not a problem. I hate going to the post office on a Monday.

Amazon delivered a box yesterday that wasn't mine. It was my address, but not my name. There were gift receipts inside, so I looked up the name on Google, found a local teacher I thought might be the intended receipient (based on box contents) and emailed her yesterday to see if this was by chance her order. It was! I'm meeting her later this afternoon to give her the box. Yay! Happy ending!
Now it's back to work, I have some complicated tax returns to do today. Bleah.

Still hot and dry in SE PA. Though maybe we would have a nice amount of rain today. It passed us by. Ugh. Chance of some more rain overnight.

Had a sale this morning and 3 minutes later she cancelled because she ordered it by mistake. Not a problem. I hate going to the post office on a Monday. I just now had someone order a PERSONALIZED item from my Etsy shop then immediately ask to cancel because she "Ordered by mistake"!! ARGH!!! She filled out the personalization box and everything!
ETA: And I totally messed up an order on Mercari. I've only had 8 sales there since I've been on it and after packaging this order up it was overweight for the label. The only way I could find to fix it was to cancel the order and tell the buyer why. I relisted it right away and changed the shipping to UPS (which was cheaper than USPS) and she bought it again...and thanked me for saving her $ on shipping!

I spent yesterday dog sitting across the street for the Great Dane, wow what an experience. I came home exhausted and covered in slobber and dog hair. We had a storm and it really upset her at one point we were both laying on the floor wrapped in a blanket just to comfort her. And let me tell you Great Dane zoomies in the house are crazy. See the video for just a clip. The first round of zoomies I was squatting on the bar stool when the video was taken I was hiding on the lazy boy. I cannot get the video to post, here are the 2 links that Imgur gave me. Just need quick lesson on video posting. Not sure if either one is clickable. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

imgur.com/a/wiTjloo

Yes I let the owner know that she was troubled by the storm. She was going to keep an eye on it, owner said she didn't get upset when both dog parents were home. Dog mom had been away for 10 days and dog dad left that morning when I took over, it could have just been general anxiety as it was getting late when we had the storm. Dog may have been thinking she got left again.

It may have been general anxiety. I used to dog sit a great dane neighbour dog - I had him over to my house. The neighbour told me that Ebony liked to be read to and this would sooth him if he became a little nervous. So, Ebony was sitting on the floor, and I was on the couch, and I started reading him Winnie the Pooh. Next thing you know, this huge dog was trying to climb into my lap! It was like all dog for a while until I got him situated next to me with the top half of him partially on me. He was a great dog, but he was so big lol.

Hi, guys. Hope everyone is doing well. We had storms yesterday! Rain! A lot of rain! They said it won't end the drought but we have more chances today through Saturday so that is something. We need it so badly. My poor cedar tree with ball moss left moss and branches all over the yard. I was a sweaty mess cleaning it up lol.
I would be WAY too intimidated to dog sit a Great Dane. They are SO BIG! I just couldn't do it.
A fellow dog walker saw a coyote hauling butt down the street (I am one house from the corner) this morning and texted me when I was out with Janey. Janey has that leash reactivity and I'm about freaked out about how she would react. I do carry a stick and pepper spray.

Good heavens. I just checked my apartment website to see what the current rents are and they've gone up AGAIN. Just since last month. My unit is now going for almost $200 more than I pay now. I cringe to think of what they're going to raise me to in October. I called my first choice complex (to move to) and found out they instituted income caps on August 1 and I make a little too much to qualify. What's funny is they now have income caps, but they also want you to make a minimum of 2.5 rent per month. At the max income cap, the rent is 70% of gross income for a single person (income cap goes up if you are married, up again if you have kids). Sounds to me like the complex received some development or renovation grants but doesn't want "true" low income in the complex. Sunny and 96 on tap for here today. Tomorrow should be nice, forecast temp is only 91

$2500 a month with an income cap? Crazy! I almost fainted when I paid DS's $1500 rent for this month (they're both staying at the hospital 24/7 and unable to work until they get back home and Riley's condition is settled).
Walked into my own house and was welcomed with chocolate chip cookies- life is good! It's sunny & beautiful here today and not too hot. I'm gonna go thrift for some baby clothes once my phone is charged again. Ramona's finally eating better & putting on weight so she's right between sizes. Mom & Dad say they have plenty of clothes... if that's so they have 'em hidden really well lol.
Hope everyone has a nice day!

I've bought two office chairs in the past 2 years. Both gave up the ghost in about 6 months. Seat went flat, chair kept sliding down during the day and had to be adjusted, etc. I finally got tired of it and found a company that makes chairs for big guys, with the various styles rated from 400 to 600 pounds. I bought the slim line one, it's closer to the size of the two chairs I'm replacing. I'm stuck with black but I can buy an office chair slip cover to jazz it up. This sucker better last a LOT longer than the others did, since I paid a lot more for it. My old BF bought one of the big guy chairs and it lasted forever. He used it for a couple of years, then bought a new one and gave the old one to me. I used it for a few more years after that. It was rated for something like 500 lbs. Those chairs rated for 200-250 lbs don't last very long if you weigh over 100 lbs

Hubby goes through office chairs. I think he is on his 4th one. He picked up the last one at a used office furniture store.
