I went grocery shopping yesterday and saw a slight increase in mask wearing in the grocery store and at the UPS Store when I pick up my mail (same shopping center). The HEB closer to me that I usually go to has a slightly higher number of folks in masks than yesterdays store did. I was pleased to see more employees wearing masks though. They're exposed all day long.
Sunny and 98 on tap for here today.

My friend told me that our Walmart has more people wearing masks lately. I don't go there, but it is good to know.

I'm seeing an uptick, too. Still only one or two of us at the gym wearing masks.

peek, when you're in the bank, why not ask them about electronic payment options? Our landlord wants cash given to the property manager so he can record it and give you a receipt or a check deposited at their bank with the rental address on it. We did cash a couple of times but it was a pain having to wait for the property manager to come by. Depositing a check isn't usually bad since the bank is close by, when the roads flood or get icy it's a bit of a pain. The rain stopped around noon so I made it just before the drive through closed at 1. It could have waited until Monday but I like to get it in there before the first.

Kind of sounds like he wants to hide the cash amount. I would do the check payment.

The two agents that I've spoken to were in no way affiliated with my health insurance company so they stood nothing to gain. They were familiar with my insurance plan though. One referred to it as the Cadillac plan... lol. I did talk with a 3rd agent at United Health today but he in no way said anything at all to try to get me to stay. Just factual information for me to digest, suggested that I thoroughly read the exclusions for the plans that I was considering and he gave a number to call if I wanted to submit an application for a less expensive plan. A few things that stand out for me as far as the MP goes is that I'm worried about having to get established with new providers. I like all of the ones that I've been seeing for many years now. Also, with my current private plan, I don't need a referral to see a specialist. I don't see that many specialists but the option of self referring is really nice. I don't know how old you are, bliss, but "Cadillac" plan is how they referred to a Medicare supplement plan. If that is the case, my son-in-law used to sell Medicare supplement insurance, and he left that field one year before I became eligible. He kept telling me to get the Cadillac plan, but the agent I was dealing with said no, I should get the one that they are offering to replace it. His reasoning was that as the number of people on the Cadillac plan went down (i.e., died), the cost of the program would get spread across fewer subscribers thereby increasing your premium. Made sense to me so I took the one he recommended, and my premiums have only gone up about $40 or $50 in 3 years. It is about $145/month now, and I have only ever paid my $250/year deductible despite surgery last year and quite a few other annoying medical issues.

Roughly another 15 years to go. I'd love to know how many people dropped off after this premium increase or changed their deductible. Not really because of age but because of the price increase. For now I'm okay with it but will reevaluate in the near future. Since I'm paying a higher deductible, my premium is actually less by about $40 than what I've paid the last year. Woohoo.

Just FYI, every plan I've had from the healthcare marketplace has NOT required a referral to a specialist.
